  1. FOS Kaziocore If you think he is scum, you should say so. But I find putting some pressure on him a lousy reason for your vote. He had already been voted twice since his last post. That should have been more than enough pressure.
  2. Would they really need to be scum to get defensive about that? If you had mentioned something which was clearly referring to me, without adding my name, I would probably also respond. Yes, you did refine your statement after EM pressured you, but I still think you may have kept it at least a little vague on purpose.
  3. I'm in the final week of my master's thesis. I have been reading all posts the last few days and I will continue to do so, but I may not have as much time to spend on my own posts as I'd like to. However, I still have a few things to add. First of all, I still regard Falzis' contradiction as a scum tell and I have one more question for him concerning this statement: Why didn't you just include the names of the people you were suspicious of in your post? Why did you want/expect us to read between the lines. Wouldn't a townie like his posts to be as clear as possible? That being said, I do like most of your other posts and they make me doubt if you really are scum. I'll keep my vote on you for now, but I am certainly willing to change it if a better case appears. However, I don't think the case against KevinH is that strong. The problem with KevinH is that he is playing this as he always does. He votes no lynch on D1 and then targets one of the voters of D1 on D2. I, therefore, find it very hard to get a good read on him on one of the first two days. Finally, I would really like some of the players to get more active. We really need more opinions out there. It seems like some are about to get replaced, so I won't vote for the inactives yet. But if this day is drawing to a close, they are still inactive and haven't been replaced, then I would be willing to change my vote to one of them.
  4. And a few lines later it is shot down:
  5. I think there has been enough discussion on D2 to allow you to post more than just this. For examplle, what is your opinion on the discussions involving Falzis and KevinH?
  6. Again, I don't think 'narrowing it down' to 50% of the players was a very helpful expansion of your suspicions. I disagree. I believe that contradictions are decent scum tells. If you are contradicting yourself, one of the two statements must not have been honest. Townies should always post what they really think, not what makes them seem protown/helps them in their attack on someone. If you always post what you really think, you shouldn't end up contradicting yourself. Unless someone convinced you of the opposite in the meantime, but I doubt that is the case as you hadn't explicitly stated who your suspicions were about when you attacked Narsis. I've just read it again and I still don't see who you were talking about. I've pasted the explanation post below, perhaps you could bold the part where you specify who you were talking about. I have seen you attack KevinH and Narsis, but those attacks were in direct response to posts they made after this post. So those cannot have been a clarification of your previous suspicions. Funny thing is, you even mention the consistency in your own post. So at least at that point you must have thought that being inconsistent could be a scum tell.
  7. But that is just it. I don't think you have been clearly acting pro town. Yes, you have been active, but that doesn't make you pro town. Yes you have voted, but you voted without a decent case, so I would hardly call that pro town. I do believe the pressure you put on a few people was pro town, but that is not enough to make me withhold my vote. I think the two cases were very similar. You both said you had your suspicions about a few people. You were both called out and you both refused to give any names when you were called out. All you did was state that it were the more experienced players. While this is a new player heavy game, approximately half of the remaining players is somewhat experienced. That is still way too broad to help us. So, I still think it was a clear contradiction.
  8. This doesn't make any sense to me. What will we get from you before you die? I disagree. A FOS can also be used to simply mark suspicious behaviour. One suspicious act does not have to make someone scum, especially if that person has made plenty of pro town moves. So you could actually have no intention of voting for someone, but still want to point out that they did something suspicious. That would be a good moment to use a FOS. While I agree activity is good, voting for one of the inactives would be pretty much equal to a random vote. We lost our cop, we need information, not random lynches. Sometimes you can get a whole lot more information by not interfering. For example, if someone does X and X is suspicious unless he does it for reason Y. Then if the current discussion seems to go towards the exclusion of reason Y, it would be better to sit back and watch it unfold. Because if you would question him, he might be able to conclude that the only reason to do this as a townie would be for reason Y. In fact: Why was it alright for you to post that you had your suspicions without adding any extra information, but why was it not okay for Narsis? That certainly seems like a big contradiction to me. vote Falzis
  9. Please explain yourself. Also, Sojourner could you please try to explain again why you posted that you thought that EM was the cop. What were you trying to achieve? I really prefer to lynch, but if Sojourner can give me a satisfactory answer, then I don't have anything against him. So that would just make it a random lynch, which doesn't give us much information.
  10. My FOS was for rolefishing. I have no problem with him misunderstanding the cop role; He is new, that can happen. I have a problem with him saying that he thinks X is the cop. I couldn't think of a good reason to post that you think X is the cop. That will just help the mafia, as you may have picked up on a hint they have not. Therefore, I thought that he was perhaps trying to get some more opinions on who the cop might be. It may have been just a rookie mistake, but I can't just let him off the hook only for being new. Therefore, I thought that my FOS was a good way to put some more pressure on him and make him answer me.
  11. While it is of course in the scum's interest that we lynch a townie, it is in the town's best interest that we lynch. We really need the information on D2. Remeber that the cop hasn't done any investigations yet. He can only do one investigation each night and we haven't had any nights yet. Also, you should NOT post who you think is the cop. This information will only help the scum. I know you're new, but I think you should have thought of this yourself. Perhaps you were fishing for other opinions on who the cop might be. FOS sojourner Don't edit your posts! Yes, a SK is an enemy of the townies. A SK wins when he has eliminated all other players. So he is an enemy of both the town and all other scum.
  12. It's quite common that it goes back and forth between a few players, especially on day 1. So I wouldn't worry too much about KevinH's strategy going through. Once we get closer to deadline, more people will vote and they will probably focus on one or two players.
  13. I, obviously , disagree. I've always been a fan of 'speak up when you really have something to add, be quiet if you don't'. Spam does not help the town. In fact, spam hinders the town as the content posts can get buried by spam. I also find the spam annoying when I reread a topic, as it makes me dig through a whole lot of useless posts. I, therefore, believe that the content to noise ratio, possibly in combination with the post count, is a much better indicator of who is trying to help the town and who is not. In the end, I would like to play with those who help me win this game, not those who are the most active. Although I wouldn't take the content to noise ratio of D1 too much into account. We need something to get the game started and I can understand that spam may be used for that.
  14. In all honesty, I always find day 1 a bit hard myself as well. We have to get leads out of nothing, which is a whole lot harder than later in the game when patterns are becoming visible. Still, the best thing to do now is to try and look for posts that don't seem right to you. Call someone out if you feel their logic is flawed. Put some pressure on someone who is doing things you disagree with. On that note, I'll unvote as Theophilos has given me no reason to keep my random vote on him. And why is it a good thing for the town that this information is out in the open? Doesn't the scum benefit much more from getting this information? If you were not lying, they have one less townie to consider for their NK tonight. If you are lying, then it will make your possible future roleclaim lose it's credibility.
  15. KevinH always votes no lynch. Eventhough I think it is a terrible strategy, that is no reason to lynch him, as he does so no matter if he is town or scum. Yes, he did. But that is still pretty remarkable. He gets attacked for his no lynch strategy pretty often, but this is the first time he has said anything like this. Why would he feel the need to tell us that he is not the cop? It could be reversed psychology. Trying to make us think that, in fact, he is the cop. Still, this will just draw the attention to him, while you would expect him to try and get the attention away from him. I don't really see a good reason for him to do this, no matter if he is scum or town. So, I'd like to ask KevinH a question. Why did you state that we will not be lynching the cop if we lynch you?
  16. But if we no lynch, we will still be clueless on day 2. Suppose this day started, everyone came in and voted no lynch. We would know absolutely nothing going into night 1. The scum wouldn't have anything to go by either, so they would submit a random kill and we still wouldn't know anything on day 2. The only way to win this game for the town is to get information and the best information is gained from voting and lynches.
  17. Perhaps it's a good thing I missed a few games then. Random vote: Theophilos
