I agree with you 100%, teachers as a whole do not get paid enough, and when they can find a younger, cheaper teacher to replace an older one, they do...they really don't have the money to do otherwise. That reflects a lot on the fact we have way to many administrators in relation to teachers. And they get paid more and protect their jobs first. In order to fix the education system, we would have to eliminate a lot of jobs...administrator jobs and send them back to the classroom or just eliminate them (I got to know the teachers union rep for the HS I was responsible for as a US Army Recruiter a lot of that info comes from him) One thing to possibly look for as far as a teaching job... Overseas with DODEA...they are always looking for teachers, the pay is pretty good (last time I checked) and it is an easy way to get to see Europe. @ Random.. yeah that is another big chunk... most people coming out of college have no true idea what their starting salary should be. They look at that executive job and feel that is where they should start and when they are offered the entry level position...they decline. Can't be CEO without sorting the mail or making the coffee first.

Ok, I get that there are areas that have a surplus...but there are areas that are hurting too. One can always go where there is work. and..the irony..lol

Occupy Wall Street (Serious Topic)
I actually haven't paid too much attention to this movement, too many other things going on with work and all but did want to make a comment on this. Out of the little bit I did watch, one part stuck out to me. They were interviewing the "typical" college student who was there protesting because he was a recent college grad unable to find a job and blaming the 1% for it. Now I am concerned with the high unemployment because I will soon be retiring from my current job and moving onto a new job. So not being able to find a job does concern me. As I was watching the interview I was wondering what his degree was in, Since I have a AAS in Civil Engineering and am almost complete with a BA in Business Administration, I was wondering how difficult I was going to have it. Then they showed that he had a Degree in English. WTF...English??? Exactly what carrer field does that feed into?? Education?? He should have had no problem getting a job in education, there are shortages in teachers all over the place...if he also got his teaching certificate...and some places may not even require that (IDK, just assuming that with the shortage of teachers you can start and work on it as you go...like I said IDK) But seriously, a degree in English.... I am sorry that you wasted your time in college drinking and smoking dope with occasional classes thrown in to get a degree that you can't use...but that is no one's fault but your own. Back when I went to school, you had a career feild in mind when you started and you got a degree that supported that field, but also back then as long as you had a degree you could get a job even if it wasn't in that field. Well, now there is this thing called a recession or depression or whatever the heck they want to call it...this period of extremely high unemployment...an unemployment rate that can partly contribute it's recent drop to people giving up looking for work and falling off the unemployed rolls. In this time where there are litterally 200 or more people showing up for every job...if you don't have a degree for that field you are not getting a job, period. Employers can afford to be picky because, well they have a lot to choose from. And I wonder just how typical he is, are most of the protesters, these college grads with no job prospects just like him...with English, history, Political Science, etc degrees, degrees that go pretty much into one narrow field. Are they all like that?? and just don't want to work at the jobs their degree leads to?? I just wonder exactly how much of the "injustices" they are protesting are actually outcomes due to their own choices and today's attitude of "it's not my fault...it's theirs" end rant

Ugh, It is on the tip of my tongue, you almost came back to TPF but something came up and then you ending up leaving the game/re-rolling iirc...but the name escapes me. United Equdorian Children??? Unclothed Equestrain Chap?? It is right there, and no I can't remember that far back, that was in 2008 i think, since that time have had 2 surgeries, one PCS and on another deployment. At this point I have no clue what day it is without looking at my watch, and have actually argued with my watch that it couldn't be that day. lol
