All valid points but many leaders/dictators/jerks came into power using similar tactics. While I can see their point of view better from your well written response, I still don't see it, and hopefully never will. Trump is motivated by money, words to him are just a means to making money. I see Trump as a completely different beast, because mass genocide is no where near as profitable as long wars, or better yet trade agreements.

Seriously...? The political environment for Obama was hostile at the time. The main difference from now and then is the Republicans didn't want to strike then, and now they do. Trump has the complete backing of congress and the house, Obama didn't have any backing. It is easy to say when Trump is on easy mode. land mines are illegal as well. Are we obligated to act when people use them? Incendiary Weapons weapons also are heavily restricted and/or banned, which we use by the way.

While I agree that Obama never would have acted like this in such a public manner, lets remember during Obama's time there was about 560 some odd drone strikes (about 50 during Bush's and we had more fighting during his terms). Drone strikes were so common in Pakistan that innocent civilians were scared to go outside during clear days. Also Obama wanted to invade in 2013 but the Republican controlled congress shut him down. I don't care one way or the other to be honest, just trying to make sure everyone has their facts straight.
