Well, it would be a good start. But joking aside, the problem is family and friends. I have a leftie daughter, and a lot of Democrat friends. I wouldn't want them to be harmed, but some of them have switched sides since the real insanity started. I still have hope.

Of course, no one is trying to outright repeal the 2nd... they can't get it off the ground because they know they will lose. The things that come to mind, just sitting here, are the efforts to ban handguns, ban semi-automatic rifles, and ban magazines over 5 rounds. It was written when we only had single shot muskets... "shouldn't it only apply to owning muskets?". Conceal Carry is illegal in some states... that means if you don't wear it on your hip like Butch Cassidy, you're a criminal. "They" are Democrats... and this is just a few examples of how stupid "they" are. I don't wish misery on people... just Democrats.

3/4 of the states would never repeal the 2nd, so you're only hope is to get the entire thing as a whole scrapped. I have been pushing for decades for a Constitutional Convention of States to put the whole issue to rest. Democrats know they will lose so they won't commit. They want to keep the issue alive to keep their followers engaged. Super majority in the Supreme Court is what you really want... that's a little out of reach currently. My wish is to see Democrats cut so deep in blue states that anyone that has money will leave them to their own misery. Maybe we will see how that works when that Communist takes over New York City... yeah, it's still a Republic. Wall Street may find a new home in Nashville or Miami... or Las Vegas! We seem to attract all the sports teams. The Schumer Shutdown is the bonehead move of the year... you know Trump will never cave. Yes, you did. I watched the clip you posted, and the glaring thing that is missing is the question he was answering. Democrats will do anything to abolish the 2nd Amendment... ANYTHING. It's the number one wish on their list. It's not about the children. It's not about mass shootings. It's not about any shootings at all. They really don't care about people. They care about changing the Government, and they can't do that under the U.S. Constitution. If they can change the Government, they can make the people do whatever they wish them to do. The question was obviously from a Democrat that was declaring that gun deaths are enough of a reason to abolish the 2nd Amendment. The 2nd Amendment protects the Constitution from destruction. Mr. Kirk was defending the Constitution... because the 2nd Amendment is the absolute most important part of it. You wanted to make a joke that he deserved it. I don't think it was funny.

Elected idiots are harder to get rid of. Appointed idiots are easy, but Democrats love to try to tie things up in court with appointed Judges. Democrats are wanting to stop us, or at least, slow the bleeding. So now they want to open debate. It's an old tactic... nothing gets done during debate. Our side is done debating. We're getting rid of the idiots. Democrats panic and start shooting. It's happened before. Democrats start shooting... and then they get their ass kicked. Many on the left have decided they cannot win on the issues. They can't win on the issues because they are wrong on the issues. We try our best to reach an understanding with them. To tame their worst impulses. The USA is a Constitutional Republic. Our Constitution lays out what power the Federal Government has. More important, it lays out what power the Federal Government does not have. The left does not understand this form of government. They believe... to their core... that the Constitution is obsolete. They believe that they can change things however they wish. Disregard the way things are done since our founding, because it will make them feel good. This is what divides us. When the left can't change something, they try to break it. If they can break it, they have a chance to rebuild it the way they want to be. They used to hate millionaires... until they became millionaires themselves. Now they changed into hating billionaires now. You and I have two different views of what a good economy looks like. When the Federal Government has to borrow the money to pay the interest on over 36 trillion dollars of debt... there is something deeply wrong with the economy.
