Mafia on Iron Island

RULES

-You need a simple majority (50%+1) to lynch someone

-Once someone's fate is decided, you cannot unvote.

-The Day ends once the majority of the votes are on one thing.

-You die if you don't post at least once every two IRL days. (No inactive people)

-Night ends 48 hours after the day ends.

-You must bold your vote. If you don't bold it, It doesn't count.

-You may not edit or delete any post.

-In the event that there are not enough votes to lynch any one person, the day ends with no lynch

------------------------------------------------------------------

In the peaceful Iron Island, a dark presence is about to make itself known. For years, the family based crime organization known as the Mafia has been establishing itself in the foundation of the community. Until now, the naive citizens have been unaware of the evil among them. Tonight, however, the Mafia makes its move. Tonight, someone will die, and until the Mafia has eliminated all opposition, the innocent will continue to die. Unless, of course, the Mafia is destroyed first...

Remember, the first day will always be slow. It would be wise to lynch a random person than not lynching anyone.

On second thought...

Unvote

4 townies

- 1 Doctor

- 1 Cop

- 2 Vanilla

- 1 Roleblocker

1 Godfather

2 Mafia Goons

We have 8 players where 3 are scum (1 godfather and 2 mafia goons)

I think if we mislynch just once we will lose...

DAY 1: 5-3

DAY 2: 3-3 [LOSE]

Indeed, the 5:3 town scum ratio makes it almost suicidal to lynch someone on day 1.

Mod: Is there a deadline for the day to end?

I guess I'll just follow with everyone else.

Vote: No Lynch

Also.. no unvoting I guess that will take a bit more thought then XD

Day 1 will be over when every player has voted.

This is your current situation:

Nonvoting: BeeBs, Theophilos

No Lynch: d3mon, reign of terror, KevinH, ABigDeer, Kaziocore

d3mon: Nerau

[dMoIA]I'll arrange for appropriate mods for SirCrocodile later tonight so he can moderate our game appropriately. If you need something else, let me know as well.[/dMoIA]

I have to agree, I'm not sure what we could gain by lynching with the current odds.

Mind you if anyone knows anyone that would like to play, now is a good time to force ... erm I mean convince, them to join asap like. :P

A better way to phrase this would probably be: No unvoting once someone is chosen to be lynched. (I.e. Person X gets the votes needed to get lynched. Nobody can unvote at that point.) Until that point though, you are allowed to unvote as you please.

Fair enough

I'm thrilled that our players see the wisdom of no-lynch.

Vote: No-lynch

It's not worth the risk of accidentally lynching the cop or doc.

Is the roleblocker aligned with the town or the mafia? The post with the roles says 4 townies but then enumerates 5 roles with indents.

That was an oversight on my part. The roleblocker is Town-Aligned.

Mod: Can we get a prod on BeeBs?

He hasn't read the Role PM yet. Until he reads and responds to it, do not count him in the game. I will tell you when/if he replies

Wow, this got off the ground super fast. Sorry for my tardiness, glad to see everyone is so on the ball! I'm here now and ready to go.

Thanks, appreciated.

Thats insane. So, if we don't vote that means we have one extra day. Better odds to lynch a scum tomorrow, even if we are blind guessing.

I guess we ought to take our chances tonight then and hope that the cop picks a winner (i.e. a scum). I suppose that's better than blind guessing and losing though.

Vote: No Lynch

We'll see how this goes, in the past I haven't been a fan, but here I agree that we ought to try the method.

We also have possibilities of the doc and roleblocker getting lucky, too.

Here's a suggested strategy:

Night 1

  • Cop investigates somebody
  • Doc protects somebody
  • Roleblocker does not do anything to avoid the possibility of blocking the cop or doc

Day 2

  • If the cop has discovered a scum, he role-claims and states the discovery (town lynches scum)
  • If the cop has investigated a townie, he doe not role-claim (town no-lynches again)
  • The doc and the roleblocker do not role-claim

Night 2

  • If cop has roleclaimed, the doc protects him;
  • Roleblocker can block somebody other than the cop, possibly blocking a night-kill.
  • If cop has not role-claimed repeat Night 1.
