-Once someone's fate is decided, you cannot unvote.

-The Day ends once the majority of the votes are on one thing.

-You die if you don't post at least once every two IRL days. (No inactive people)

-Night ends 48 hours after the day ends.

------------------------------------------------------------------

In the peaceful Iron Island, a dark presence is about to make itself known. For years, the family based crime organization known as the Mafia has been establishing itself in the foundation of the community. Until now, the naive citizens have been unaware of the evil among them. Tonight, however, the Mafia makes its move. Tonight, someone will die, and until the Mafia has eliminated all opposition, the innocent will continue to die. Unless, of course, the Mafia is destroyed first...

I see what you're saying. I guess I'd be tempted to vote no lynch for a slightly different reason. If we go into tomorrow the majority is still the same. With six players we need four to lynch (right?), so we'd still have the same problem with the majority, but have a higher chance of getting a good lynch by the odds. I'd be concerned with allowing for too much scum dialog to throw our decision, but with the small number of people posting I think that is less of a problem.

There's not a "half majority at deadline" rule so the townies need to avoid being swayed by scum.

With 5-2 advantage, we can actually afford 2 night-kills against us with no lynches.

The cop can get in 2 investigations and if he doesn't find scum there could be 3 known townies out of 5 remaining players which would then make known the 2 scum. Two lynches and we win.

This falls apart if the scum night-kill the cop or a townie he has confirmed.

The cop should not role-claim until he has made the 2 investigations unless he finds scum the first time.

To mitigate the situation where the cop finds a townie tonight but get killed the following night, I propose that tomorrow everyone should post a player that they think might be townie -- the cop can post the actual player that he investigated. If the cop gets killed, then we'll at least have one confirmed townie.

I like this.

However, you missed that it also falls apart if we don't have a cop to investigate. Either because he only gets one and has decided to pass, or because he's inactive. Either way, we lose a huge benefit.

On the other hand, I understand we have at least a semblance of a strategy this way and I'm going to chose that over guessing at this point. Hopefully the cop acts tonight.

After a little more thought ...

If the doc doesn't get night-killed, the cop can role-claim and ask for protection.

Then he will most certainly survive to reveal the next investigation.

and if the role blocker also survives he can greatly reduce the chances of

a successful nk

I would expect the mafia to counter claim at this moment as not doing anything

unless getting really lucky in also picking the cop's target will definitely be an

instant win for the townies

The Cop made his move. Nerau is Innocent

The Mafia killed d3mon. He was a Vanilla Townie

Day 3 Begins

I'm looking to get back into playing mafia again. If anyone goes inactive during this game I would be happy to come in as a replacement. If not, I'll enjoy playing with you all during the next one.

I really miss you!

It seems everyone is a bit inactive, but I can probably blame holidays for that.

Nerau is a townie for sure.

We have 4 townies and 2 scum remaining.

Included in the townies are the cop, doc, and roleblocker.

We can spot the scum a night-kill and have a 3-2 advantage tomorrow.

The doc should protect Nerau so he will still be a known townie.

The cop will investigate somebody and we'll either have 2 known townies or a known scum to lynch.

With 2 known townies, 2 of the remaining 3 will be scum. Those are good odds to pick a lynch target!

I'm the only one to post in the past two IRL days. I guess the town wins. :wav:

I'm just kidding because I'm sure I had a two day lapse earlier in the game.

:o

I'd forgotten about that. I'll seriously kill anyone who doesn't post at least once in the next three days.
