Pictures of where you live

Yes. It was a bit of a ripoff. BUT we *did* get a pretty great view of the City. Plus they had an iPad in there that would tell you what each major building was, which was pretty cool.

For National Security reasons I am not allowed to post "selfies" or the internet will shut down.  Think of the children...

I so wish I could make it to Europe. I would spend all my time visiting every castle I can find.

I'm a sucker for history.

I recently read about my English cousins over there taking the time to dig up the remains of Richard III.

Time to give him him his rightful place, even if he might have had his nephews killed.

That was "The Real Game of Thrones".

We were literally tripping over ruins.  It got to the point where it wasn't worth stopping to look unless it was REALLY huge, REALLY unusual, or they had a trebuchet.  Like at this castle where some jamoke photobombed my pretty castle ruins pic...   :(

I'm thinking about photoshopping so the dude is saying, "Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries!'

BTW - I wasn't kidding about the trebuchet.  Here's a panoramic I stitched together...

I have a castle in the city centre I see everyday on the way to work.

The only problem is though we've lost almost all fo the old walls, we just have the keep left (which granted was all that was there in the original Norman castle).

Well the keep is largely a Victorian restoration (although by some miracle it was done accurately). During a city walkabout to raise funds for a charity a lecturer gave me quite a run down of a lot of its history.

Ok those are pictures making the town I grew up in good.

Note these pictures are all taken off the interwebs

But lets be honest, this is what most people see

Ahh 84. Looks like home!

Seriously, I was going to ask you if you were from VT until that pic. Your first pic made me think of the Bennington Battle Monument [though the BBM looks more like the Washington Monument than that].
