While ccabal86 is designing the next game, let's play a very quick game

Quick Links

• Day 1

Setup

•

• 1 Mafia Goon

• 1 Sane Cop - Always gets correct results (i.e. guilty for anti-Town roles and innocent for pro-Town roles)

• 1 Insane Cop - Always gets incorrect results (i.e. guilty for pro-Town roles and innocent for anti-Town roles)

• 1 Paranoid Cop - Always gets guilty results

• 1 Naive Cop - Always gets innocent results

Game Mechanics

•

• Cop Headstart - During Night 0, the cops can send in their investigation. The mafia cannot night kill

• Cop Sanity isn't revealed upon one's death.

Rules

1.

2. Players who do not post for 48 hours will be prodded. A player who fails to post within 24 hours of being prodded will be replaced.

3. A player who has been prodded 3 times is subject to possible replacement without further notice (player-requested prods do not count towards this total).

4. Days will last 5 days. Nights will last 2 days.

5. Extensions are given only in extreme circumstances.

6. Deadlines may be shortened if activity is too low, or if all Night choices have been received early.

7. Normally, a simple majority of all living players must agree on one person (via voting) for a Lynch to occur (simple majority = ½ # of living players +1, rounded down).

8. If no one has a simple majority of votes at deadline, only a half-majority is needed. (simple majority / 2, rounded up).

9. If there are 2 players with the same amount of at least half-majority votes at deadline, then I will lynch the one who reached that number of votes first.

10. During day you may vote using bold (Vote: PlayerX). If you do not wish to lynch, you may bold Vote: No Lynch.

11. You may Vote: No Lynch - a simple majority of these vote types is usually required to send the game to Night phase without a Lynch.

12. Once a player has reached a simple majority of votes no further unvoting will change their fate.

13. When a player is lynched the game enters twilight until I post a death scene; all players may continue to post.

14. If you are killed (either via lynch or night kill) you may no longer post except for a brief “Bah!”-type post that contains NO game related information.

15. Any player with a Night action may instead submit a “No Action” PM to let the Mod know that you do not want to perform your expected action that Night phase.

16. Darkened Yellow text is reserved for the Mod.

17. No invisible/small/encrypted text is allowed.

18. Editing of posts is not allowed

19. Please bold all requests to the Mod so that they don’t get missed.

20. Rules violations will be dealt with according to their severity (up to and including a Modkill) as the Mod sees fit.

21. Modkills may be accompanied by a change to day/night. The offender’s role will be changed to Neutral Survivor, which guarantees a loss.

22. No set of rules can be all-encompassing. I reserve the right to take any action at any time, for any reason.
However, I try to be extremely reasonable. If you have any questions about the game, rules, or players, please ask the Moderator via PM.

Okie-dokie then, how do we want to work this? should we all just say who we investigated last night and our results and then try to base a vote off of that?

I investigated Rafay and got town.

I investigated Rafay and got town.

I investigated Rafay and got scum.. now where does this leave us ?

I investigated Rafay and got scum.. now where does this leave us ?

We could be sane and insane between us.

I'm not paranoid.

You're not naive.

That's just the beginning ...

The key to this is that every townie has to be honest with their result.

We should be able to narrow it down to limit the possibilities of those who are lying.

Yay..nice to be back in the game after so long. May I see that this is an interesting setup.

As for the game, I am not too experienced but I also agree we should all post our night investigations and look for inconsistencies.

My investigation target: KevinH. I got town.

Funny you should say that Imran, I investigated KevinH and got mafia. Though I have no idea about my sanity.

Not Voting (5): d3mon, Imran Ehsan, KevinH, Rafay, Xx Karl xX

Deadline: Friday, September 21

With 5 Alive, 3 is needed to lynch.

Indeed..

We have 2 scum and 2 town results at the moment. I wonder what Karl has for us.

i investigated kevin and got town, so i guess that's 2 town results for him and 1 scum

We should still try a day 1 lynch.

This is really interesting..

We have 2 town results on KevinH and 1 scum. Lets discuss the two possible scenarios

1) Assuming, he is town, it means that he was investigated by Naive cop (always town result), Sane Cop (correct result) and Paranoid/Insane cop. Also, since KevinH got a town result on Rafay, he must be Naive/Sane/Insane. By elimination (in this scenario), he must be insane cop and thus Rafay must be scum. Since, this conflicts the intial assumption, one of the people that are claiming to have investigated KevinH is lying.

2) Assuming, he is scum, it means he was investigated by Naive cop, Insane cop and Sane/Paranoid cop. Since there is only one scum in the game, Rafay cannot be scum and thus I must be the paranoid cop.

I believe that this means that one of Rafay, Karl, Imran and KevinH is scum. This doesn't help us a lot but I prefer the 1 in 4 odds vs 1 in 5.

Hm.. since only two people were investigated, we can't have odd number of town results. So one of KevinH/Karl/Imran must be scum.

Since, we would have two chances to get the scum, I believe that we should lynch someone today.

Vote: Imran

Hmm... well the way i see it, the probability of investigating the true scum is really low, so i think that one of the scum results has to be from the insane cop.

so if we think D3mon is insane, that means kevin is has to be either sane or naive. this also means that Rafay is the paranoid cop. then this leaves me and Imran. I know for a fact that i'm a cop, so that means i'm either sane or naive depending on what Kevin is, which leaves Imran as the liar and therefore scum.

OR

if Rafay is insane, that means D3mon is paranoid. I know i'm a cop, so that means kevin and I are sane and naive, which leaves Imran as the liar and therefore scum.

this is of course just speculation as i am trying to connect the dots here, but i think that's fairly logical, as long as neither of the scum results were on the actual scum, which i suppose did have a 40% chance of happening...

Oh shoot, i just realized something. D3mon has to be a townie! see look:

If D3mon was scum, that means:

Rafay is Insane or paranoid

Kevin is Sane or naive

Imran is Sane or naive

Karl is Sane or naive

and we can't have 3 people that could each possibly be the same 2 roles. therefore D3mon has to be townie. so i'm gonna go ahead and follow d3mon since he's a confirmed townie and for the reasoning in my last post and

Whoa..hold up there. this is pretty interesting that you came up with a Town claim on kevinh several hours after I had already posted my investigation. It seems to me like the scum would wait until everyone has posted their investigations and then make a case and make up a claim to get a lynch. I havent had time to do an analysis of the results yet but from what I gather through a quick glance, from your analysis, it seems you are equally as likely to be scum as me. Except that you had chance and time to think up your strategy.

I will post again when I get a chance to go through the permutations, but putting it up here now so hopefully people will not be jumping on a quick lynch by following the scum.

Imran Ehsan (2): d3mon, Xx Karl xX L-1

Not Voting (3): Imran Ehsan, KevinH, Rafay

Deadline: Friday, September 21 (3 days to go)

With 5 Alive, 3 is needed to lynch.

2 is needed to lynch on deadline.

KevinH investigated Rafay and got town.

D3mon investigated Rafay and got scum.

Imran Ehsan investigated KevinH and got town.

Xx Karl xX investigated KevinH and got town.

Rafay investigated KevinH and got scum.

I agree with Karl's reasoning that D3mon is not scum.

I'm town. (Trust me!)

If Imran and Karl are town, then they use up the sane and naive.

The only way I could get town on Rafay is if I am insane and Rafay is scum.

D3mon would then be paranoid and everything works.

If Rafay is town, then I use up either a sane or naive and either Imran or Karl is scum.

D3mon and Rafay use up paranoid and and insane. Everything works.

I think we can solve this thing.

We should lynch now (see, I don't always advocate no-lynch ...)

Imran and Karl have the same history so one should be lynched.

I'll assume we lynch Imran for now, but feel free to substitute Imran for Karl in the following analysis.

I investigate D3mon:

if I get scum, then I am insane and Rafay is scum

if I get town, then I am either naive or sane with Rafay confirmed town

D3mon investigates Karl:

if he gets town, then D3mon is insane and Karl is scum

if he gets scum, then D3mon is paranoid

Rafay investigates Karl:

if he gets town, then Rafay is insane and Karl is scum

if he gets scum, then Rafay is paranoid

Karl investigates Rafay:

if he gets scum, then Karl is sane and Rafay is scum

if he gets town, then Karl is either naive or sane with Rafay confirmed town

Somebody is going to get night-killed and somebody is going to lie about his result,

but I think there will be enough information for the two remaining townies to make the right choice.

Mod: Will we be told the sanity of those who die?
