Really the question is not "who" runs America, but "what" runs America.

 

What runs America right now sadly is called division.

 

I've been around awhile and politics is a hobby of mine. I have never in my life seen my country as polorized as it is now. Common ground is a thing of the past. There are two sides to everything, and bitter hatred for anyone on the other side. It's really quite frightening from where I sit, and not at all the America I grew up in. Obama promised "Change"... can you feel it yet?

 

There are two words that I believe have set this country on a path to destruction.

Those words are "entitled" and "tolerance".

When I was a kid the words used were... "No", "Hell No", "Tough Shit", "Get Over It" and "Work It Out".

Now we have to legislate everything and subsidize the failure.

 

Everyone thinks they're more valuable than they are. That's why income can't keep up with inflation.

The words "Living Wage" are not copasetic with "Market Value".

I'm afraid it won't get better until it gets much worse, because people don't get angry until they start losing. When they get angry and start paying attention to what they vote for... things will slowly get back on a path of prosperity.

I just hope it's not too late... for my kids and theirs.

 

When Ben Franklin came out of the hall after the founding of our government a woman asked him what form of government they have given them. He replied, "We have given you a Republic Ma'am... If you can keep it". I sure the hell hope we can.

i'll tell you exactly who is running the country. Lobbyists. They pay off Government Officials to help them keep or pass a current bill, one of the Biggest Lobbyists would be the NRA (National Rifle Association), so they can keep the "regulation on firearms" away. It is illegal to bribe them, but they mark it as a "donation", and it cant be proved otherwise.

Wow MastersonX, Slow down son... you just stomped on the first two Constitution amendments of the Bill of Rights.

 

Lobbyists are the paid representatives of so-called "special intrests". A special intrest is anything you want it to be. It can be Abortion, Pharmaceuticals, Immigration, Trial Lawyers, Environmentalists, Shrimp Breeders, Nudist Colonists, or anything else you can think of. They are all special intrests and those are considered dirty words when they are against your agenda.

 

The right to petition the Government for a redress of grievances is in the 1st Amendment of the Constitution.

 

The NRA is a gun club. A very big gun club... and they all vote. One very big issue with the NRA is the protection of the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution that is the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

 

So the things you believe are the evil elements of the woes of the nation are very much protected functions of our society. If you don't like these amendments... you need to get yourself a lobbyist in Washington to change that Constitution. Good Luck with that.

 

Edit: Also if you're worried about dirt-bag Congressmen who take favors from Lobbyists in exchange for their votes... put them in prison or simply vote their butts out of office if you don't like them.

That's what i was trying to get the point to, Congressmen taking favors from Lobbyists in exchange for votes. I am a supporter of the 2nd amendment, but when it comes to bribery; it gets under my skin thinking about it. Even though i know or country is full of it.

The people run america when we stand up and fight the government together. 300 Mil people protesting would own the government, but too many people feel it is necessary to do this through the legislative branch.

The Country has changed so much in the last 100 years its mind boggling. and the 100 years before that, it looked differn't then it dose now. Who knows what It'll look like in the next 100 years. Its a country that is constantly changing. The Government the US was founded on is not the same government that is here today.

Bankers run the world through the force and coercion of government legislature.

 

Division of the people is only a tactic used to keep people fighting amongst themselves in the same manner that elections in the United States are designed to give people the illusion of choice.  You have no choice.  You get only two options of candidates that have been preselected by lobbyists and special interest groups.

This is a good statement but you failed to go into detail about how people are just for the lack of a better word stupid when it comes to politics or just don't care enough to read the bills they blindly vote for or are just so in a frenzy they will throw away rights we had and I'll use a old bill that was passed that I wrote a paper on in high school which was the patriot act 1 and 2 which gave the government more power that people are so shocked about now and as if it was this big shock that the government was doing these things which if we read the bills we have pasted since 9/11 most of them were used for military budgets and more ways to snoop on use or control the things we can and can't do.  But I think the congress is the real force behind who runs the U.S. Obama is just a joke he is only their for public moral.

Now they are saying "stop", and you can't get the genie back in the bottle.

They use the weakness and fears of the monumentally stupid to buy votes and hold on to power.

If Obamacare is so good for America... why do they keep delaying every aspect of the law that's intended to pay for it?
