[OP-05] Mafia Wins - Matrix6 Game Thread

Ah!!! KevinH and his post counts. I knew something was missing from the last time I played......

I'm in favor of lynching inactives but we can't just gang up on some1 and make wrong decisions continually after that.

Kevin actually said you should vote to no lynch.

And looking more into Kevin's no lynch thing, it really depends on luck. Lynching someone may very well provide a good deal of information, but only if we're lucky in terms of how people act and vote. No lynching someone may very well provide a good deal of information, but only if we're lucky in terms of how people and act and whether they choose to vote in that situation.

Ideally, I feel as if this decision should depend on how the game day goes in terms on info and posting. If we have a lot of info by the end then no lynching might be best to avoid an unnecessary loss, however again, if we have very little info to begin with, lynching probably won't provide much more info. If we have only some info, lynching someone could provide a good deal, or at least somwhat, more info.

It's a tough call, so we'll need to see how things go.

For now,

he wanted to get replaced, not killed. will a scum want to get replaced out of the game? i think not.

Will a townie care whether he's killed or replaced if he wants out? I think not.

Will scum care? More likely.

I'll agree the tracker is a much weaker investigative role, but it's better than nothing.

As for voting trends, those that agree with the no-lynch strategy get townie points in my opinion.

Hasn't contributed anything but the number 5.

Whoa Whoa

I'm here now.

I haven't played mafia in a while, nor had a good grasp of understanding the gametheory before. So both not lynching and lynching inactives sounds like a good plan to me.

MF, Why do you think that either of those strategies is good for town?

Also, why do you want townie points from Kevin? :P

Not lynching: Chance to lynch town > scum

Lynching inactive: Get rid of useless ppl.

But in this case, we have a waiting list of people who are ready to replace in, so lynching an inactive is not necessarily the best strategy, especially with so few people.

A vanilla townie is more likely to get bored of the long days than a scum who gets to kill someone at night and gets to giggle around and do this :smoke: ,  watching the townies floundering around trying to find the scum.

True. But scum needs to put in more effort to seem innocent if days take longer.

Monty: Well, you got a point. So that'd make no lynch more favourable?

Not necessarily, as I said, it really depends on how much info we're gleaning from this day. But I don't think lynching an inactive is the best idea in this case. If Genius wants out, we have three people who want in.

I think I saw Imran doing this:

GeniusInc is prodded

I'd like to wait to see what happens to GeniusInc before we end the day. Didn't he already ask to be replaced?

Again, why are the days so freaking long. Might as well replace me now if you have a backup

lies and propaganda! :panicmode:

Since we have a 2/9 chance of killing a mafia with a lynch, It would be very much more likely that the mafia would be helped by lynching. Therefore, I am suspicious of anyone who is stoutly against a no lynch.

How the f did you read me being against a no-lynch in post #57?

Not lynching: Chance to lynch town > scum

Lynching inactive: Get rid of useless ppl.

Wow after being proded Genius came back and immediately vote to lynch. Makes one wonder doesn't it......

It does. Clearly I am up to no good.

From #57:

Not lynching: Chance to lynch town > scum
Lynching inactive: Get rid of useless ppl.

I would interpret this as saying:

  • The reason for no-lynch is because there is a greater chance to lynch a townie.
  • The reason for lynching an inactive is to get rid of a useless person.

GeniusInc, you were way too quick on the draw there. In no way does his post make him stoutly against a no-lynch. There are people who have in fact stated very clearly that they are against a no-lynch.

What else(if anything) makes you suspicious of MutedFaith?

I interpreted it as saying he was for lynching inactive, and he had voted for me (who was for all intents and purpose, inactive).
