This morning I awoke to reports of some saddening news. The loss of Scott Weiland. To those that may not know who he was, was the lead singer of Stone Temple Pilots, and later on, supergroup Velvet Revolver. I grew up listening to him, and for some reason this has hit me pretty hard. It's not a surprise to me, he likely should of been dead years ago with his cocaine and heroin addiction. But I think that's it, when you talked about him, the conversation always was like, how is he still alive? It's like you aren't surprised, but now that it finally happened you're like damn. I think it has seemingly been sticking with me all day because he's a the first favorite singer of mine that I've actually been around to see die. Sure, I am fans of many old rock singers that have died, but all died before I was born, or when I was young and really got into them.
Either way it sucks. I had hopes that STP and Scott Weiland would get back together and hash things out and at least play together one more time, but that wont be happening
