Hey guys.

I'm gonna be visiting the States from 4-9 March. But I'll be only visiting 2 cities; DC and New York.

I'm gonna be in DC from 4-7 and NY from 7-9 March.

Any of you guys live in the area? You can come and meet me. In Washington, I'll be staying in Hotel Fairfax at Embassy Row. Haven't reserved the hotel in New York yet.

So I wanted to ask some Q's regarding my trip. I know the landmarks to visit in each city, but I'm looking for some good places to shop and good places to eat; especially to try the world famous US BBQ items.

Any recommendation, tips or advice to make my trip even better?

Oh Rafay... I have never been to New York yet, but I will someday. I was in Washington DC for a couple days for the 9-12 March on Washington, back in 2009. That was with the Tea Party people, and it was a lot of people. The trip was all politics, so we didn't get to spend too much time site-seeing. We did visit the Washington Monument, The Supreme Court, Arlington Cemetery... but there is so much more to see. We do plan to get back there for a longer stay... when the residents are more friendly to us.

Enjoy your trip... and stay safe.

I live on the left coast, but I've been in those cities.

Couldn't find BBQ there when I was there, mebbe that has changed BUT if it has

I wouldn't judge good American BBQ by it!!!  You need to be somewhere else for that

... and you aren't going to be close.  Enjoy your trip.  Stay safe.  :)

You need to visit the Midwest for the really good BBQ. We do things right in the Midwest. Enjoy your trip! It should be fun.

West side has better scenery. Just go to McDonalds and you've successfully visited 80% of all US restaurants.

Haha.... But yea never been up there but probably not much BBQ. Good BBQ states are the Carolinas, Kansas and the Midwest states as someone mention above. Also my Home state of TEXAS we have pretty good BBQ even though I am not a fan of it much. So in New York I would say try a New York style Pizza, maybe some hot dogs. Well I always here Apple Pie's are what America's about so try some.  Well Welcome to the U.S. hope you enjoy your time here and hope the people are friendly enough.

I live in NY State and I definitely agree you will have to go elsewhere for great BBQ. There are a couple restaurants I have visited that people from Midwest or South says comes close to traditional BBQ, but it still isn't the same.

I would however recommend pizza if visiting NYC. I personally feel its a little overrated, but a lot of people seem to really enjoy it.

I think most people feel their local food is a bit overrated... I have to find different things to try most time I go out to eat. And here in Texas Mexican or Tex-Mex is very popular but I do get tired of it very easy.

I too live in NY, I am upstate however. I cannot say I have found a great BBQ in the 6 years I have been here. I can say I have found the Pizza a little lacking. I am from Philly, so Pizza, Cheese steaks, and Pretzels are kind of our thing.

REAL BBQ is totally western/southern. Though we might have different definitions of what is BBQ. Industrial urban life just doesn't offer the same culture. IMHO, it's always the small places that offer the most unique and best food. My experiences with big cities is that their big restaurants have shit food. I lived in Vegas for several months and the best food I ate there was the cheapest. Went to some crazy expensive places, but only the sushi impressed me.

IDK much about Texas food, but Mexican food in general is amazing. Best when cooked by some legit Mexican place, or better yet, my Mexican homies. :P

Hand over your DNA first, then they might led you in.

I'm ready for my rectal exam. I've been giving those to patients, time for me to taste my own medicine....

when the residents are more friendly to us.

Oh....should I be cautious about something. Like how not to be rude to the locals.

Should we be worried your coming?

Well if you're gonna vote for Trump. You should get scared out of your mind that a Socialist Muslim is coming.

Just go to McDonalds

I will try that too. We do have McD and Burger King in Pakistan but I'd like to try the original thing.

And I guess I will have to settle for NY Pizza then.

The differance between IRON and some rag tag alliance is the fact that we will fight with no reguard to our own nations. Putting the greater good of the whole before ourselves. Victory for all or they will have to fight us to the last point of infa in the last IRON nation. Every so often someone(s) will come around and exemplifie this. Living up to the IRON Values. It gives me great pleaser to baptize three of IRON's up and comers.

No Sir, not at all... I was joking about who lives at the White House. I thought you knew me better than that :) I would say Washington DC has the second strongest security in the country, it is our Capitol, and all our leadership lives there. The strongest security is in Las Vegas where all our money is... that's another joke... but don't jump the fence at the White House, you'll get chased all over the lawn, be on every TV channel, and spend years in jail. It's not worth it.
