I just hit level 8 earlier this week.

Congrats! How does it feel to now have to earn those silly achievements in conjunction to AP for leveling?

Yeah.. I was hoping for more changes than just that. It's alright though. I'm on my way to level 9 now.

I just hit level 10... The part that gets semi-depressing is the  gear only runs up to lvl 8... But you will see as you lvl you get more abilities...

 

For example at some point you'll be able to fully mod a portal by yourself

I was wondering about that. I figured it was the case but wasn't sure at what point it would happen.

 

I'm just glad that I have access to my level 8 weapons now so that I can efficiently hunt down the two high leveled Enlightened scum in my area that I've been warring with for several weeks.

You will find that running around at lvl 8 carries some strength, though only being able to deploy 1 lvl 8 res can be frustrating

It is a little bit frustrating.

 

I've been hanging around the 2000 item limit for a couple weeks now as well so I have to keep recycling level 1-3 resonators, xmp bursters, and ultra strikes. I'm at a point now where I will have to start recycling even higher level items than those.

I burn them (XMPs) on attacking lower level portals, and you used to "AP cheat" by deploying your lowest lvl resonators and then upgrading them to gain more AP off deployments... Don't know if they changed that up or not, but basically used to burn stuff creatively rather than destroying/recycling. How many capsules do you have? I have a billion stuffed with low lvl gear, and even some with mid-lvl

I had about 10 capsules. I stuffed two of them with portal keys. Don't the items in the capsules still count toward your 2000 item limit?

Last I knew they didn't, which is why capsules are so sought after. Especially MUFGs

Hmm.. I'll have to check that again then because I was under the impression that they counted toward the limit still.

Guess it does.... Though it warrants the question why worry about Capsules if that's the case? Like I said before I understand with MUFGs and all but other than maybe key storage do the serve any real purpose?

Other than the mass transfer of items between agents by dropping a loaded capsule I don't see much of a purpose.

True, I didn't consider transfers... Have you had the experience to trade with an opposite faction player yet?

I have not traded with anyone.

Ah, should try it sometime. I got my first JARVIS and 2 AXAs through trading. Then when I got an MUFG I put those into it and now I have a ton of those good things

I actually didn't know that trading was an option until today.

You sort of do it more quietly, since there are sometimes some wacko die-hard Greens or Blues who will shun you if you so much as say hello to opposite faction players. But I've personally found it's a great time when your hunting with a group and next thing you now you run into 2 or 3 of the other faction and get to socialize.

I came across the person that I consider to be my primary rival one day on my way home from work. I was getting ready to do my normal hacking run. The first portal I was approaching was owned by the Resistance when I was approaching it, but when I got there it had just changed to Enlightened control. I looked around the parking lot and saw the guy in his car looking at his phone. I waited until he left and then destroyed his portal and took it back and then followed him for about a mile re-gaining control of 5 of my portals right after he took them.
