The game was just released in my country today and I was excited so I went out to play. But I feel that Pokemon Go still has a lot of flaws which Niantic needs to sort out. Otherwise I'll just go back to Ingress.

I found out how I can play it (sort of ).
If you just don't give the app access to your Camera, it runs pretty well (with few crashes). If you do give access, it crashes every time you click on a pokemon...

The augmented reality functionality is pretty cool but playing without using your camera is really helpful when trying to catch Pokemon because they don't move around.

New update put out for iOS and Android yesterday. Lots of small changes. The most exciting update is that a new tracking system is being beta tested now by select individuals and it looks pretty good! We will probably see it live for everyone soon.

Yeah, I realized it updated today, when I looked down at my phone on the way to work, and the app had a pop up that said I was going too fast, and asking if I was a passenger in the car.

Other new updates in this version are:
-Fixed the bug where "Good", "Great", and "Excellent" throws weren't giving XP bonuses.
-Renamed the "Nearby" screen to "Sightings" and added a grassy background to the nearby Pokémon.
-Pokémon are removed from the sightings screen much quicker as soon as they are out of range.
-Trainers can now change their trainer name one time.
-And some other random changes.

It's been 3 weeks I think since I leveled up to 23, I'm still level 23. Unless I go out and hang around it's almost impossible to level up. I'm 15K away right now but it's such a drag. I work 40 hours a week and go to school full time... priorities or Pokemon, I don't know which to choose.

Yeah. I've been playing since it started and I'm only level 19. Also, I have only seen two squirtles. Caught them both. In like, two months. How does anybody level the starters? It's like impossible unless you play full time.

Leveling your actual starter is worthless, unless you meant leveling up any of the three starter Pokemon in general. In which case, it is a grind. I have found plenty of Bulbasaurs around me. I eceolved one Venusaur a couple weeks ago and have enough candies now to eceolved a second Venusaur all the way from a Bulbasaur.
For Charmander I believe I'm up to 71-72 Charmander candies. I already have a Charmeleon but once I get up to 125 candies I'll evolve another Charmander all the way to Charizard.
I'm at 91 Squirtle candies right now as well. I actually just found and caught a wild Blastoise last week. I was stoked when I found him. He is my favorite Pokemon. When I get up to 125 Squirtle candies I'll evolve one all the way up to Blastoise as well. This one will be much stronger than the wild one I captured.
