I thought it would be fun to poll IRON in regards to the US Presidential Election. Even if you are not from the US, vote for whichever candidate that most appeals to you. And please leave a comment as to why you chose that specific candidate.

 

This poll will run until November 7th, the day before the US Presidential Election.

Though many people in the United States refuse to accept it, Donald Trump is the type of president that we need to have. Sure, he may not appeal to many people because of his persona or how he comes off when news channels (that get funded just like politicians) report on him, but his presidency is most likely not going to be marked with the same "say one thing, do another" policy most presidents tend to employ. His presidency will (hopefully) incite some form of change in the political system that hopefully will lead to more people who aren't funded by companies to seek positions in the House and Senate, where the real change can start.

Personally I tend to agree that Trump can at times makes some questionable statements, but he actually has presented some good ideas and I have the belief that he will actually try to help America as a whole recover from the trillions and trillions we have lost because of past Presidents' (Obama) spending. Plus, how could I consider voting for someone who plans to continue the same crap we've endured for the past 8 years? Not even to mention the many, many lies she has consistently told about her entire email server. If the fact that she has blatantly lied to the American people, sold off US secrets, takes donations from other countries, yet is never questioned and let off with nothing doesn't tell you how much we need change, then our country has already been sold off to the highest bidder.

 

Just my two cents. Maybe I'm crazy, maybe I have a point. In the end it's all just what your personal opinion is lol

Hillary is a definite no for me. I'd rather a man who talks out of turn and says questionable things sometimes than a woman who DOES unquestionable things.

Gary Johnson has ruined the libertarian party for me. I was anot active libertarian until he became the candidate. I can't support someone who has a lot of differences in where I believe the country should head, even if it is from "my" party.

Jill doesn't seem to take it seriously to me. I don't think we should have a president who can't take things serious.

Trump on the other hand has a few areas I differ with him on. The way he handled that Purple Heart with a "wish I could earn one" didn't go too well for me, but I've learned civilians are always going to say stuff that comes out wrong. As far as his actions, Trump out of the remaining candidates, is the only one I truly see taking initiative to make things better. The main turning point was his speech where he talked about poverty, making education in the inner cities just as good as everywhere else. He hit areas in that speech I haven't heard any other candidate even mention. He showed a different side there and it's a side I don't mind as president. It was professional, sincere, and, again this is my opinion, it felt like he was speaking as a president, not a candidate.

That's my opinion. I would enjoy to actually hear why people would vote for someone else though. Not to argue, but I like knowing reasoning behind people's thoughts.

This is likely the one and only time I post here because I don't want to lose respect for anyone.

I will prolly vote Clinton, but I prefer Jill Stein. It isn't so much that I'm voting for Clinton as I am voting against Trump, who is terrifyingly unqualified and dangerous IMO.

Just a general observation... Wouldn't this topic be better suited to the "Real Life - Current Events and World News" section of the forums since it does pertain to current politics and the US Election in just under two months now.

I know I'm not american but I personally would vote for Clinton, for me Trump is a flimflam man, Stephen King wrote a book call Dead Zone, where the main bad guy/villain was a presidential candidate and trump reminds me of that guy

At this point, I don't like Hillery or trump. Therefore I refuse to vote for either of them. So atm I'm leaning Johnson, but I don't know his polices. So sometime between now and November I'll take an extensive look at him as a whole.

I think this election will have the most people voting 3rd party more then they have in probably 100 years cause people are dissatisfied with the 2 main choices this year. If I fell neither candidate deserves my vote why should I give it to them? It's my vote and I'll vote for whoever I want to. And if your one of those people who say voting 3rd party is wasting my vote, your part of the problem. You are vote shaming. Only way you waste your vote is voting for someone you don't want to vote for.

my two cents is neither one but I do like mike pence (I lived in Indiana when I was younger) and for me at least he stands with what he believes at least that's what I've heard from the people I talk to that still live in Indiana

Hillary is crazy and Trump is crazy but just as said above, I'd rather vote for someone who says questionable things than does questionable things. Trump is not a racist when we are talking about Mexicans and it genuinely pisses me off beyond belief when some uninformed left wing wingnut says that Trump is "targeting Mexicans" like honestly, could you be more ignorant? Trump is targeting ILLEGALS who are stealing jobs, not Mexicans. And since I'm on the topic of Mexicans and immigration laws, let me share a couple. http://www.sunbaypaper.com/national/politics/mexico-s-immigration-policies-much-harsher-than-u-s in this article it states how Mexican immigration laws are 10x harsher than American ones.

Now, let me separate from that and go into another contreversial tangent (BTW I hate when people get mad at people for talking about "contreversial thigs" like it's real world news... go to a safe space and get some counseling), now for the muslim deportation and refusal of refugees. First off, let's talk about the refusal of refugees coming to America from war-torn Syria and other countries. Personally, I feel bad that they have to endure this and that their country has to go through this but frankly, I really don't care that they have to leave their country. All I care about is their choice of a "safe haven" (being America in this case although it isn't really a safe haven) is my country, America. Go to England, Scotland, Germany, France, Austrailia, hell go to zimbabwe for all I care but why do you HAVE to go to America? America has been the world's peacekeepers for hundreds of years and it has made me angry ever since I could understand what thet means. We aided the Vietnamese and Koreans in wars that we didn't have to take part in and now we're harboring refugees that do nothing for this country but take it's jobs and ruin its neighborhoods. I could go on but I want to say one more thing.

Now for my final point, the removal of Muslims. Now, this topic has been on the hot plate ever since Trump even had a notion of the idea in any sentence he had. Although Trump has dropped the word "Muslims" and started using "people from terrorist countries" stating "It doesn’t matter where you’re coming from, except for fact that the terrorist nations, which is something he is adding to this policy to make it more clear, that if you are coming from a hostile nation and you can not be vetted, absolutely you should not come into this country" which was said by a Trump spokesperson. And this I also completely agree with. If you are from Syria or Iraq or one of those middle eastern countries and you can not be 100% cleared for being a terrorist, the get the hell out. Guess which country didn't do this? FRANCE! and look what has happened to them recently, and we have a btter way of sniffing out terrorists but it isn't that much better. So now, feminists and "Black Lives Matter" supporters (stupid "coalition" I'd say if you can even call it that) are using everything and anything they can find to say he's "sexist" and "racist" and it's just asinine and ignorant.

Though you are only 15, I must say you did very well to articulate your points and I enjoyed reading them (even got a chuckle out of the tl;dr summaries )

 

I must point out another theory on why various groups don't support Trump is because of his policies, not exactly because of ignorance. Trump is not exactly bound to the tiny voices of political lobbyists throwing hundreds of millions of dollars into his campaign in exchange for "certain luxuries" when it comes to different federal laws and policies. Keep in mind these multi-billion dollar companies almost are purchasing different benefits so they can make more money in the end. The reason almost none of these groups or big companies want Trump to win is because his victory will bring an end to their secret reign over the country. That's why Hillary Clinton keeps calling him a "wild card," because when he becomes 45th President of the United States he's going try to make significant economic changes that starts to squeeze these companies to either pay more to produce in China or start coming back home for their production, whereas she will change nothing but talk about it all day while these companies feed her millions and millions more.

The current politicians will beckon no change, and the Clinton family are masters of the current political system, so why would they want it to change?
