POLICE SHOOT & KILL UNARMED HUMAN BEING FOR NO REASON

BUNCH OF THUGS IN UNIFORM

"She was placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation."

What makes it even worse is they need to investigate this? wth? Lock her up and throw away the key, there's no investigation needed anybody can see this is plain murder.

Pilot in the heli even says ""Looks like a bad dude to be honest with you", from 200ft in the air? Bad dude.. Yeah right, bunch of thugs

Murder my ass, he did not need to go to his car. there have been many killings of cops, because people disobeying them like what that guy did. come on dude, if you were a cop would you really let him go up to his car like that? where he could have a gun? who knows she could've thought he had a gun or something. this could have all been over with if he would've just complied, and obeyed commands.

also "for no reason" is way off

And people think it is shameful that athletes protest police brutality on African Americans by not standing for the national anthem?!

I can't watch the video, last time I watched a cop murder someone for driving while being black I was a mess for days. If it is as has been described, I don't understand why the shooter isn't under arrest.

I did understand the outrage when people shot the therapist. That was clear cut. This guy? What the hell was he doing? It looked like he wanted to get in his car when 4 or so police officers were pointing guns at him.

I acknowledge that there are probably systemic problems in some US police districts, that should absolutely be investigated and addressed. But this seems like playing the victim.

Is there something I'm missing? From what I can see, it looks like they did just shoot him for no fucking reason. If you're so inclined to resort to lethal violence when under littlest of pressures and heavy backup, maybe you don't deserve to be a cop

1) Who says they didn't order him to his car to make the arrest, as in order him against it? Then again he lowered his hands when at his door and perhaps tried to enter?

2) Nobody does anything to him for like 2 min? No checking whatsoever? Just let him lie on the ground for a bit?

3) If any current obesity numbers are to be believed, clearly over half of US population is at risk to be shot just cause they are "build large"...

4) Helicopter went with "they will taser him", well that didn't happen...

I doubt they told him "slowly walk to your car and get in". Just ordering him to his car defies basic police logic. You can even see that he lowered his hands and he's holding the door handle at one point.

EDIT: But what we would really need here is the voice recording, do officers wear mics?

can you see where his hands are? cause I can't besides in the car, I can't see where he's going with his hands. he walked a good 7 feet from where he started. he didn't need to go to his car. it doesn't matter how much back up you have. if someone is reaching for a gun, it takes only seconds for someone to pull out a gun and end a life.

most that I know do as part of their dash cam audio they may also have body cams we'll have to see

Walking him to the car to arrest him isn't to farfetched if you know about the choking incident in NY, plausible they kinda banned people lying down to arrest them. That said he indeed went further then just the car, went to the door and probably tried entering it (windows are closed btw).

Should he have been shot? Most likely not. Could rushed up police (1 (the female shooter), then 3, just before the shooting 4) have dealt with it differently? I dunno, seems all 4 have there guns drawn, at that moment you have forsaken any plausible non-lethal action (stungun for instant) and are just left with shooting the guy.

It comes thus down to:

1) probably unresponcive/uncooperative suspect

2) forsaken all non-lethal tools from the start

I couldn't really hear what they were saying clearly but they have some excerpts here

Edit: Obligatory, AJ is shit

#1 He wasn't a suspect, his car had broken down, police that caught him were en route to an unrelated incident

#2 What cause did the police have to jump out with guns raised?

#3 Did he at any point rush to the police or act in any aggressive manner towards them causing them to "oh fear for their lives"

#4 Shoot the man and leave him to bleed out, no one even attempted to put pressure on his wound, tell me there's no motive there? If they wanted to subdue him a tazer would have been more than enough force.

#5 Yesterday a terrorist attacks and has gun shootout with police, gets shot in the leg, survives. Today innocent man dies for no reason.

People shouldn't die simply because they don't obey police officers - that type of shit happens in third world countries like North Korea, police officers are meant to serve citizens, your tax money is meant to ensure that!

who knows she could've thought he had a gun or something. this could have all been over with if he would've just complied, and obeyed commands.

Sorry this has got to be one of the most silliest responses yet. "she could've thought he had a gun". - That's the shoot first ask questions later mentality US police have got going on.

If I were to shoot and kill you and a family member today and then in court they asked what was my motive, do you think me responding "I thought he had a gun and was going to shoot me." would that response stand?

So him being shot and killed is warranted because he didn't obey the officer?

she's on paid vacation LOL

Tazers sometimes do not do the job. also if she did think he had a gun in his hand, she has every right to defend herself and her partners.

who else would he use it on other than the police officers.

The police are there to keep the peace and investigate suspicious persons/behavior. They're not there to serve you a beer if you so wish or give you a backrub. Therefore if they ask for your compliance you don't get to act nonchalant or second guess. In that situation you comply to the the letter. If you do, you can likely be on your way in 5 minutes. If you don't, you're going to be in for a rough time. That's how it works.

That said, there are some very valid questions here. It seems that the US police abandoned non-lethal subduction methods altogether, why is that? Especially here, when there were 4 officers, 2 could have easily used a taser with 2 guns still pointed at the guy. It really often does seem like it boils down to shoot first, ask questions later.

they haven't abandoned them all together there are still a lot of tazers deployed also in the link Fermion posted it says he was trazered so if he was tazered and he was still trying to get in the car that's kinda weird on his part

Samus must be trying to fill his quarterly anti police quota

I jest of of course, in all seriousness anytime an incident or crime happens I always say, wait for the trial. That is when all the facts comes out.

In the US, you comply with whatever a police officer tells you to do in a tense moment like that. Did he deserve to be shot, judging by the video probably not. They should have first used less than lethal weapons. But they didn't and the guy is dead. The police officers may go to jail, but the guy is still dead. If he had complied in the first place, he would still likely be alive.

You can say thats messed up all you want. But that is reality in the US. You do what cops tell you to do. If you don't, then you are playing with fire. Some people who play with fire end up burned. You do what they tell you to do and then you sue in court after the situation is over.

Don't act like a thug, harass, or demean them, and DO NOT THREATEN, and you will be perfectly fine. Just like how police have a force escalation chart, you need to know how to deescalate the situation. Let them know you are willing to cooperate and keep your voice calm.

I don't really care that some police officers pull this crap, what I do care about is when they are found out that they are not crucified. They should be punished as if this is the 3rd or 4th time that they have done something like this and hung in the town square

I can wholely agree with everything you said, you got me this time DM :P

You're european right? Just have to check here..

There is no book to dealing with police officers in general, you can spell it out as easy as you like, but until you've experienced situations when you've complied to the letter and things still don't go the way they say it's meant to go, you won't understand.

It's not maths where 1 + 1 is always 2, it could be equal 3 or 5, depending on the the officer you're dealing with.

Even in the UK, there are crazy police officers who are just itching to get their adrenaline pumping.

Tazers sometimes do not do the job. also if she did think he had a gun in his hand, she has every right to defend herself and her partners.

The time between the tazer shot and the firearm shot were so minuet though? This is clear in the video

And if you are suggesting that a gun shot does the job? No it doesn't, because he's dead now and can't be subdued, no arrest or judge decision can be made now.

Are you a cop?

no i am not a cop

can you see where his hands are?
I think one of the officers does say 'He's got his hands up for her'

that's before he get's to the car

So the New York Terrorist, who was involved in firefight is caught alive but a random black guy who had nothing to do with any incident gets shot to death?

2 different things that have different PD's. It's not about race, look in Charlotte it was a black cop and a black guy. One party says he did have a gun, the other says he didn't. But they're not even waiting for the video. They went full retard, and hit the streets with riots. The Walmart that I go to sometimes in NC is shutdown. Because stupid people looted it and broke the glass. Also shut down I-85 which is a big interstate in NC.

People just don't want to respect police anymore. There are 12 officers hurt that had nothing to do with what happened.

I think the girl got scared and messed up. You can hear the stress in her voice. I'm not defending her in the least. It was murder.

It has been reported that the guy was on PCP. But that does not warrent a death sentence. They had four or more cops there. They could have taken him down even on PCP.

Sad sad sad.

It is about race. Police officers against blacks. Police officer can be black, orange, yellow, purple, but at the end of the day he's still a police officer.

And coincidentally there are plenty plenty of innocent unarmed human beings DEAD.

I think people have become so numb to DEATH these days and don't understand the severity of the situation because it doesn't truly affect them. A police officer who you have been told is meant to protect you ends up killing you. You want to wait until you or someone your close to gets bs treatmeant because the thugs with badges feel they have some power?
