Make the UK Great Again

Just in case you missed it on the page turn.

Oh, I get it now... you want me to answer these questions. Okay, I'll play...

Is a good/great country one where you can walk through any neighbourhood pissed off your tits without fear of assault?

I'm so sorry but I'm an American. I have no idea what "pissed off your tits" means. If you mean walking down the street provoking people to beat your ass... I believe you should get your ass beat.

Is a good/great country one where justice treats all equally?

Yes... you will have to ask Hillary Clinton the same question.

Is a good/great country one where no one slept on the street or went to sleep hungry?

No... I hope I have not given the impression that I am a Socialist.

Is a good/great country one where the population love the leadership?

No... that would be a wonderful thought, but not everyone will love the leadership.

Is a good/great country one where everyone can retire at 50 and live out their lives horse riding / cruising on rivers / fishing / filming orgies?

If you're smart enough to manage that, sure... but no one is entitled to it. I will work until I can't anymore, but I will never be filming orgies.

Is a good/great country one with the strongest military?

Yes... the primary job of the Federal Government is to protect the citizens.

Is a good/great country one with the strongest economy?

Yes.

Is a good/great country one with the greatest biodiversity?

No.

Is a good/great country one with the best universities?

It's a good thing... but do they have to be the best?

Is a good/great country one with the most Nobel prizes?

No. Useless. Ask Bob Dylan how important they are.

Is a good/great country one with the lowest murder rate?

No.

Is a good/great country one with the greatest individual freedoms?

Yes.

Is a good/great country one with the lowest tax rate?

This has everything to do with the previous economy question.

Is a good/great country one with the most decisive government?

As in acting quickly? Yes. Small, local issues are elevated to a Federal level too often and blown up into national arguments that keep the country fighting over stupid, unimportant things... it's what Progressives do to undermine and create chaos in our lives. Their goal is to get everyone depending on them.

You missed the point of the post entirely... You've posted an initial statement / call to arms / whatever saying to make the UK great, implying that the UK is not great. Therefore I'm trying to work out what you think makes a country great? Or how you judge one country against another? All I've worked out so far is that you want to do what you want when you want. I can already do that, therefore this must be a great country?

Oh okay... you therefore missed the point of my original post then. I wasn't saying that the UK isn't great... I love you guys... I was posting a picture of Donald Trump and Nigel Farage together, and making a joke by connecting Trump's slogan with the picture. I'm a pretty sarcastic guy, and I'm sorry if I wasn't clear about that.

So I'll make myself clear once again... when I said I liked "Olympus Has Fallen" in response to your previous post... it wasn't because I didn't see it... It was a nice way to say "I didn't ask". Then I decided to just answer your questions instead. I don't expect you to like our new President, and I know you don't like the Brexit. We will just have to agree to disagree, and like everyone else, see what happens... but all the doomsday scenarios you guys said would happen, in both our countries, have not yet come to pass. The world has not come to an end... yet. :)

How're things there these days? Has brexit had some significant changes for the common guy?

So far: fuel prices have gone up, food prices have gone up, wages stagnant, harder to get access to funding for academic/medical research, so yet to see any benefits really. Granted we've not actually left yet, but if the pound continues to slip and the government doesn't step in and increase research funding we'll likely suffer heavily. (I can only really speak from experience of the industries I work within).

Ah, ok.

I mean, your president mate, vote for who you want :P. I, personally, wouldn't have wanted either of them in office. But feel free to let us know when you start to see the benefits of his presidency :). Yep, still don't like Brexit... it's all over the news and still boring as. Brexit will take 5-10 years to see the impact of it. There's still a lot of EU money floating around.

From this I am confused what you are using to define a great country?

My wife and I make a pretty comfortable life. We spend the least amount of time possible doing that. We spend most of our time doing exactly what we want to do, at any given time.

Example: She's on a 7 day cruise right now with her Mother, while I'm here talking with you. Reason I'm not there: I would rather chew glass than be trapped on a floating buffet, for 7 days, with my Mother-in-law.

We avoid drama, keep a small circle of close friends, never interfere with anyone's lives, and make absolute sure that no one interferes with ours. We smile constantly. We love our lives, and spend no time on worry, indecision, or being "confused".

We see Progressives as the biggest threat to our happiness. We do everything possible to prevent them from changing our lives... and we do it while smiling. That to me, is a great America, and that would make any country great.

Sounds simple. Talk crap on lefties being miserable all you want, but for the most part, I think it might be because we don't live such simple lives. You strike me as someone who lives in a rural area and doesn't exactly go out of his way to meet people. Which wouldn't be bad. Just probably not the way many liberals live.

IMO Hillary and Trump are both equally terrible in their own ways. The one thing I can give to Trump that I seriously like is his opinion toward Russia, which is in a way, personal to me.

But in actual response to your comment, what exactly do you not like about progressivism? IMO, progressivism is our only hope as a species.

Can I answer that too? I love everything that Wikipedia article lists... Unfortunately too many who call themselves "progressives" are happy to curtail free speech, brand opinions they don't like as "-ist" or "-phobe" and are generally very intolerant of opinions not closely mirroring their own. This has become somewhat mainstream behavior with the American left, Europe only being slightly better.

Curtail free speech part... What specifically do you understand by that. I'm assuming you would agree that free speech is curtailed by definition, as it is always and without exception limited by inalienable rights of everyone else.

Very true, but by free speech, I obviously do not mean the right to call for violence, or raising false alarm, etc.

I mean all the censorship bullshit that is going on in the name of PC. Like the de-platforming of controversial speakers in universities, the obsession with safe spaces, trigger warnings, discrediting the merits of historical figures by focusing on their flaws, branding critical opinons as "-phobic", turning a blind eye on hateful acts committed by minorities, using atrocious double standards, etc, etc, etc. I could go on and on, but I think you get what I mean

Farage can lick my balls through a spider gag.

The UK is great because of it's diversity, absorbing the best bits of other cultures into our own, it's highly connected global trade network, a system where we used to learn about other cultures so as to best do business with them, and not complaining about problems when we can fix them. That is what made the UK 'Great Britain', and it it why it shall always be 'great' while we continue to do that and tell the likes of Farage to take his disciples and go preach to the north sea cod he believes exist in vast enough numbers to support a 1950's size fishing fleet with 2016 technology.

The UK was Great at one point in history, it no longer is; its broken financially and arguably culturally.

I generally disapprove of "diversity", diversity from what I have seen is legalise/PC speak for the discrimination of heterosexual white people.  When you absorb so much of foreign culture at what point does it cease to be the host culture and become a bastardised version of what it once was?
