It isn't cause they came from supernatural things, morals didn't just come into existance 2000 (or 6500) years ago, it was cause the bigger stick being both overpowered AND hidden makes for a good story to keep the kids straigth.

To each there own. I have reached the conclusion this world and it's inhabitants possess far too many intracacies for it all to be the work of random happenings and chance. The math only doesn't add up if you look at the odds of random chance bringing life as we know it today in one big leap. It does add up if you spread the change gradually out over billions of years. The biggest thing that the internet lacks in terms of social interactions normally happening in "RL" is the shaming that happens, while the biggest thing it adds is the ability to find like-minded people to interact with. Both these things are both good and dangerous when put to the extreme.

Thought I would post up the coming inspirational creation from Hollywood... seems appropriate for the conversation. Now Hillary Swank gets to join my very lengthy list of Hollywood idiots I will never buy another ticket to see. The silver lining here is I think the Trump voters actually end up winning in the end... but this is just wrong on so many levels. These are the people who want to take my guns.

Is your pitch on this movie that you dislike "the left" making money on a movie of satirical nature with deep-south people shooting guns at rich (left) people with no morals? Heck you are even equating "deep-south people shooting guns" with Trump supporters just for the hell of it or what? And why would this movie in any way be about gun control legislation?

 

Another pitch is that you equate a moviestar's performance (her job) with her (political) beliefs, coupled with a prejudiced notion that the entirety of Hollywood is both "the left" and in it to make fun or even harm "the right".

 

 

Is the movie theme bad taste? yes, but I could name dozen others I would find also being of bad taste. But thats a personal notion and why this should shape your general idea towards Hollywood/an actress/... is beyond me.

The Hollywood Reporter obtained an exclusive copy of the screenplay and noted that "red state" characters wore trucker hats, cowboy shirts and owned guns. The script also explains that one of the characters was stalked and hunted like prey for being anti-choice.

 

"Did anyone see what our ratfucker-in-chief just did?" one character asks in an early copy of the script obtained by The Hollywood Reporter. Another responds: "At least The Hunt's coming up. Nothing better than going out to the Manor and slaughtering a dozen deplorables."

After watching that trailer (and feeling my brain melt), it appears to be just another piece of mindless drivel that Hollywood is passing off as entertainment lately.  Just another "Hunger Games", "The Purge", or "The Running Man".

Of course, you're also aware of Outrage Marketing, which is what these trailers appear to be.  It's an attempt to get people sharing these things on their social media, "discussing" how outraged they are (which you have done here), for free publicity to get butts in the seats.

 

You want to hurt those Hollywood idiots?  Don't share their garbage.

 

I also noticed (after figuring out this was a grave dig), some of you discussing the pending trail/dismissal of the deputy sheriff who failed to stop the gun man in Florida School shooting last year.  There was some discussion about the responsibility of emergency workers (Police Officers, Fire Fighters and Paramedics), to risk their lives in an attempt to save another person.  I'm not 100% how it works in other jurisdictions, but  just to chime in my two cents.

 

I do know that the only emergency service that has an accepted and required concept of unlimited liability is the military.  We are the only ones who can be lawfully ordered into situations where we can be killed.  Police Officers, Fire Fighters and Paramedics have the option to refuse.  They won't necessarily keep their jobs, but they won't be sent to prison for refusing.

I have no problem with Snopes, they do try to be more factual than their brothers and sisters, but they do their best to protect them.

 

I have a big problem with hypocrisy. I don't know what is in this movie, and I don't know what they have cut out of it since the recent shootings, but Hollywood keeps producing movies like this while claiming they have a moral high ground on social issues. I have no doubt that they very publicly pulled advertising, knowing well that controversy would advertise for them. If the roles were reversed, and the movie portrayed MAGA hat wearing elites hunting down a dozen snowflakes, I believe most of the entire country would be utterly appalled, and violently angry. We don't like the stereotyping, and it's destroying the soul of the USA.

 

I'm a huge fan of the First Amendment, and I don't wish to prohibit artistic expression at all, but I do reserve my right to not like it.

 

I read the manifesto of the El Paso shooter. It's full of racist hatred, and his segregation ideas are ripped right out of a white supremacist playbook... but the practice of writing this guy off as crazy, and blaming guns for this, is stupid. I believe if the President was allowed to stop the caravans of a million illegals from crossing into the USA in the past few months, this shooting would not have happened... but I don't hear a single Democrat accepting any responsibility for what happened. I have stated several times on these pages that our country needs to find a way to settle our differences, or there will be violence. I sometimes hate being right all the time.

It will probably go straight to DVD, pay per view, and streaming... unless they hold off a while and release it next year before the election. No way they will just suck up the loss, so, look for them to recoup their investment. No one will forget about it for sure.

Republican, Conservative, or Christian actors are blackballed and no longer offered work. The few that have allowed their positions be known have to make their own movies, like Clint Eastwood, Sylvester Stallone, and Mel Gibson. Bruce Willis relies on the occasional sequel or straight to DVD movie... it's really sad.

Sylvester Stallone has revived Rambo in his Creed movies.

Bruce Willis is still around, perhaps you just don't see his movies?

 

Mel Gibson, well that is another thing, the issue isn't his Republican leanings... Then again he got 2 Academy nominations for his movie in 2016, so gather from that what you want about "lefty hollywood"...

 

 

I spai alot of "views that I want to view" in these replies. Also I'd venture a guess that, in line with there ages (89, 73, 64 and 63 respectivly), they have an issue with type-casting. Not many can pull off the hero-stuntman act over 50, not that they don't continue to do so! In that line of reasoning, will you now complain about any actress "screenage" to be sub-40 and afterwards Hollywood discards them for the next plastic model? >_>
