I wanna congratulate all the members of the Democratic Party and fellow liberals in the USA. Today Americans proved me and a lot of people in the world wrong and cleared our misconceptions about their characters when you voted against homophobia, sexism, racism, bigotry and fascism. Now I understand a lot of people criticizing that there was no blue wave or anything like that; you're right it wasn't a blue wave but it was something, like blowing up the first death star. Defeating fascism isn't easy, just ask FDR, Churchill and Stalin.

 

The Dems won the house, picked up governors, gained some state assemblies and most importantly won the popular vote big time. I call it a good haul but its only a battle we won, the war rages on.

Congrats to the Democrats! Things actually worked out much better than I expected. They needed 25 seats in the House, they got 34. They wanted a wave, they got a ripple. We really were not doing any good with Ryan and our majority in the House anyway. Since they can't do anything without the Senate and a President, they will spend their time whining about everything and threatening government shutdown. On the other hand, we traded my panzy-ass rhino Senator in Nevada, for Indiana, North Dakota, Missouri, and Florida. Now we spend the next two years stacking the courts with Judges that know how to read the Constitution. BOOM!

 

Jeff Sessions was shown the door today. The strangest thing in the past 2 years was Jeff wanting to be Attorney General, going through all the vetting and hearings, and then when he is sworn in, he says "I Recuse Myself!"... Expect movement on the Russian Collusion Conspiracy, and the criminal plot to frame the President of the United States, very soon. It's gonna be a lot of fun!

Definitely was an interesting night. Not much ever happened in the House for the past 2 years, but word is going around the Democrats aren't going to negotiate legislation through the Senate. They are going to use the House as a weapon for Investigations. Legislation will be passed in the House as a feel good measure only to rile up their base for 2020.

 

I was right in my prediction during the Kavanaugh hearing. Senators who voted against him could very well find themselves losing their seats, and the deranged attitude among Democrat voters was a catalyst for Middle America denying them a successful Blue Wave. 3 Red State Democrat Senators lost their seats.

I'd like to express my deep concern for the health of Associate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and I wish her a speedy recovery. If things take a turn for her, I believe Progressives will hatch an elaborate "Weekend at Bernie's" scenario, or at the very least accuse Associate Justice Brett Kavanaugh of pushing her down the stairs. It must be hard for her, because she has trouble already forming complete and coherent sentences, so if she wants to do the best for herself and retire, I'm quite positive the President will find someone capable of filling her chair.

I’m very glad the tide is turning away from hate, xenophobia. and an extremist, irresponsible government. We took the house, which is a great start. Meaningful change may take time, but I continue to believe in the foundation on which the USA was built. It has been very troubling to see hate become a popular movement. The pendulum between liberal and conservative always swings left and right, left and right, endlessly. I admit I was losing faith watching all the bloviating, nationalistic rhetoric, but the pendulum swings.

Hopefully the pendulum falls off next election and we get a Libertarian wave lmao

Both of them are perfectly willing to throw core libertarian ideals right under the bus, especially as far as independence from state and pesudo state powers go. Liberatinism requires independence from all coercive institutions, not some.

 

Not to mention the hard evangelicals and wana be robber barons who think being pro pot makes them libertarians aren't doing anyone any favors. Oh and the general stank of objectivism needs to be sorted

You make an excellent point. A lot of “libertarians“ object to gay marriage, a woman’s right to control her body, decriminalization of drugs, freedom of religion or atheism, free speech, free press, etc.- not very consistent with the tenants of libertarianism. I don’t know what proportion of libertarians these people represent, but they sure are loud.

I was sincerely afraid we wouldn’t. Like I said, I was starting to feel discouraged. We have a long way to go still, but I’m much more hopeful.
