Deadline was supposed to be on September 16th at 4pm server time. Brewers ended the day (without a hammered lynch) on September 14th at 9:00am. It looks like something might have happened to cause the game to go to night prematurely so even though Kevin was in line to be lynched at deadline, deadline never actually came and no one was lynched.
Then possibly that was the safety mechanism. As he got near to the lynch it activated?

I searched through the MafiaWiki and the only thing I could find that could end a day was the King in Kingmaker where the day ends when the King makes a day-kill.
It's a new mechanic but I'm not complaining!

I think it's quite compelling that the scum have to be in the "Who's Left?" list. They don't want to risk becoming lynch targets themselves and would love to get rid of the tracker.
I can sort of understand a vote for me early in the day before all the facts were laid out and needing to start discussion. Jumping on the wagon to prevent the potential lynch of any other candidate is just scummy.
