[KH-20] Coronavirus - MAFIA WINS

In the peaceful Sicilian village of Salem, a dark presence is about to make itself known. For years, the family based crime organization known as the Mafia has been establishing itself in the foundation of the community. Until now, the naive citizens have been unaware of the evil among them. Tonight, however, the Mafia makes its move. Tonight, someone will die, and until the Mafia has eliminated all opposition, the innocent will continue to die. Unless, of course, the Mafia is destroyed first…
But wait! Another threat to the town emerges. COVID-19 is also in the town.
Can the town survive both threats?

  • During the Day phase, each player may speak and vote inthread.
  • If a player receives the majority of the available votes during the Day, they are lynched.
  • At deadline, a player with half-majority will be lynched; the first player to reach the most votes over half-majority will be lynched in the event of a tie.
  • You may vote No Lynch.
  • Players that are lynched or night-killed will become Tree Stumps where they can still post but not vote.
  • This is a No-Reveal Game but Tree Stumps will be identified.
  • After the Day, the game goes to Night.
  • The game thread is closed during the Night. The Mafia may speak to each other Day and Night.

  • Mass role-claiming is not allowed
  • Players may role-claim if they have something interesting to share or if they become a Tree Stump; they do not have to tell the truth
  • Infecteds will not generally know each other.
  • Mafia that become Infected will show as Infected to investigations but will retain the original Mafia win condition.
  • Townies that are Infected will win with the Infected faction.

Game Days will last half as many real-life days as there are players alive
Game Nights will last 24 hours; actions may be sent early if desired.

@TW.. I thought you didn’t like quote walls

And THIS.

Can you really not see a difference between LIVING players asking technically DEAD players to share their role as a way to get info for the town and DEAD players asking still LIVING players to role claim for no reason and expose themselves to anti-town factions?

Why in the hell wouldn't you want to share your roles with the town if you're already dead but still have the ability to? That makes absolutely ZERO sense. Any information you can share HELPS THE TOWN. The only reason you wouldn't want to do that is if you didn't want the town to win for some reason. In other words, if you were an anti-town player to begin with.

this plus the other railings about freely flowing information from dead players...you’re beating a dead tree stump all piling on. There’s literally no guidance or requirement really that anyone killed has to keep logging (pun intended) into the game and continue participating. We’re out of the game. If our after-death RC is required, the Mod can provide it.  I provided you mine and I think Robert did the same, but we didn’t have to. We threw out that others should start RCing, just to stir things up and it’s like we hit a hornets nest.

I mean, if you're town and town wins, you still win and get to brag on this thread. The whole point of tree stump and no reveal is to further confuse stuffs, true, but helping town is the optimal way to win the game.

Also @brewers & @STP, can you both confirm if CM's power is correct? Both of you're have protective abilities?

i dont want to confirm or deny CMs claim,l way to early for me to do a soft RC in  my opinion

and yeah @dontavian, you dont have to participate any more if u dont want to, but if your town and you want to help your side win then its the right thing to do.   the mod isnt gonna reveal info, so its up to our tree stumps to do so.

plus there are roles that can revive players, so having the attitude of not wanting to participate any more is not the right attitude to have.  this is a team game and we need the help of everyone, including the tree stumps

you are not out of the game.  otherwise u would be dead.

and dont get me wrong, i get it,  you played two games and both games the scum killed you right off the bat.  thats shitty as fuck.  whoever the scum are should be ashamed.  thats how you drive a new player away from the game. seriously, we are losing players and activity the way it is.

but at the same time, you shouldnt just go fuck it and hurt your team mates.  if anything you should want to be as helpful as possible to say fuck you to the ass hole players that decided to kill u.  because your teammates arent the cunts who decided to fuck u over and ruin your chances at learning and enjoying mafia.

You are correct in saying "you didn't have to" provide your info to us, but it's in towns best interest (which you are still if you became a Tree Stump as town) to know all the information possible. I'm going to chalk it up to just being new to the game, but if any other experienced player was acting like this it would probably be seen as game throwing, or unsportsmanlike at the every least. This is a team driven game afterall, if you just want to sit on the sidelines and not participate then that's on you. But don't be surprised if people are reluctant to want to work with you in mafia in the future ;)

I don't like quote walls for the sake of quote walls because they are damn near impossible to read on a mobile device which is what I use almost exclusively on weekends. I quoted the posts above because they were pertinent discussion and not quotes for the sake of quotes. Additionally (OOC) it's Monday so I am on my work computer now.

But back to the discussion: It wasn't beating a "dead tree stump". You and Robert openly called for Brewers, Nadarr, and myself (all living players) to role claim under the guise of it being an equal request to what we asked you guys to do. My point was all things are NOT equal in this case.

You and Robert were killed, that is true. However, unlike most games, this game provides a mechanic where the dead players can still participate in the game (including role claiming). The point was that if you are/were town, role claiming isn't something you should feel "forced" to do. It is something that you should WANT to do. You still have a way to help the town win even though you are dead. Why would you not?

Roles are guaranteed to be sane.
Results are not guaranteed to be correct. (e.g., Miller)

Players know when they are infected and their action will go through that same night.
Infected players do not necessarily know each other.
Once infected, players lose their original role.

And just to give hope to the town, I'll share that there are mechanics to bring people back into townie status if they lose it.

With 12 alive it takes 7 to lynch or 4 at deadline.
Deadline is 12:00 EDT Wednesday, April 29.

if someone has a modifier like that, lets say the one where it makes the person appear infected, would they only appear infected to the PI, or would the bloodhound also get a result of not town as well?

Well, lyner could be scum.

Was going to be lynched, made a fake RC of a bloodhound and picked a random townie to carry weight.

Then cm got infected and then torres found that he's infected.

I believe that's what happened.

Torres is less likely to fake it than lyner.

And torres was in no danger.

So he had no business RCing.

He RCed, cause he found an anti town and since it's like his first game, he wanted to share his luck with everyone.

So at this point, we can say that CM is cult, but he had did his actions

Atm, he's just a Vanilla cultist.

Lyner is scum, who wanted to escape being lynched.

Torres is townie.

Now by threat level, scum are the only ones with kills.

So let's take out the scum first.

Besides, i doubt that CM is the cult leader.

Cm was just recruited, so he is a regular cultist, so he got no power to recruit anyone.

That being said, we should still just lynch out nadarr.

Due to the eventual harm she's going to bring to town. (Refer past games for examples)

Results would be as if they really were infected even though they are not.

How exactly does that make anything “fall flat on its face”? The argument is that you are currently a tree stump and the three people you are calling out aren’t. It makes no sense for any of us to role claim right now to appease your request. If you were town I really don’t understand why you don’t get this. Don’t you think that arming the town with as much information as possible in a game full of unusual unknowns would be a good thing? You realize that if you were town (even though you’re currently “dead”), you still win if the town wins? You get that, don’t you?

So tell me then, what gives the town a better chance of winning?:

1) A former townie with nothing to lose and everything to gain role claims to give the town potential information to work with.

Or

2) A former townie with nothing to lose and everything to gain does nothing to help the town even though unusual game mechanics allow it.

Only one of those options makes sense if you are/were town and you know it.

Actually I am alive and I was told by Kevin there may be a way to return. In witch case your arguments fall flat on there face.

So. I'm still asking you to roleclaim.

the ways to return are in the roles. There are multiple roles that can bring you back. Pretty sure I mentioned that a few times already lol

No town will visit Robert, but no scum will either if revived

That being said, we should still just lynch out nadarr.

So we're going to lynch a potential townie over a cultist now? Are you our cult leader MK?

If Medved had some modifier that make him appear guilty he should have said so. He is definitely Cult. He hasn't even really tried to defend himself.

Or we could just lynch the scum.

So that would be you.

He is cult.

But that would mean that lyner is scum.

For not realising that

Getting information out. Yes it should help town, but me saying PGO don't help me. People will get information from you 3 claiming also, so this is a dead end trying to argue this. If you cannot see why I didn't want to RC, I can't help you. I was lynched by a minority of players for no reason other then they wanted a day 1 lynch. Rafray somehow is alive assuming thanks to the mod but isn't a tree stump so this game is F'd.

I don't care if I don't have a vote.

VOTE KEVINH

Saying that there is a difference because I'm a tree stump is a moot point. Instead of digging me for information and making yourself look scummy should be pressing others.
