Roles/rules/format:
The Electoral College: One player will be the electoral college. Each night they must submit one primary state (player a) and a back up state (player b ). During the next day phase Player A will cast their electoral ballot when their state is ready to announce their decision. The player they vote for will "lose" the election (aka die). If Player A is eliminated at night, player B will cast their electoral ballot instead
The voters: If you get this role, you may cast your ballot and vote during the day. Your votes are basically meaningless tho, as the Electoral ballot is the final one that counts, however, it can help them make their decision (Faithless electors are Constitutional in this game, so the Electoral ballot does not need to mimic the popular vote)
One Player will also be the Popular Candidate. This candidate will instead eliminate the first player that unilaterally tries to eliminate them (either the elector or a member of the deep state at night)
The Deep State: a group of corrupt politicians whos only goal is to ensure they remain in power (aka the mafia). they can eliminate one player per night
During the day phase, all players will operate as "voters" other than the one chosen by the EC.
The American Public wins when all members of the deep state are exposed and arrested so a good and honest person can become President
The Deep State wins when they eliminate all the good and honest politicians and ensure their member becomes president
