Rules
  • Each night the Electoral College will pick a primary and back up elector.  If the primary elector is eliminated, the backup will become the elector
  • During the day phase each player may speak in thread
  • Players votes do not count, but they may "vote" to let their voices be heard
  • The elecotr for the day will post "PLAYER NAME HAS LOST THEIR ELECTION" at any time during the day.  This ends the day at that player is eliminated
  • After the day, the game goes to night.
  • The game thread is closed during the night. Only mafia may speak to each other at night.
  • All active roles may submit actions via PM at night.
  • The mafia can, as a faction, eliminate one player at night.
  • After the night, the game goes to day.
  • If the Electoral College is eliminated at any time, a new player will assume the role at random.
  • All dead players (lynched or killed) can no longer participate in the game.
  • Basic rules for maintaining the integrity of the game thread are in effect (i.e. players may not quote their Role PMs, nor may they discuss the game outside the game thread unless otherwise permitted, etc.)
  • The game is won when only one faction remains in the game.
  • Mass role-claiming is not allowed, but you may reveal your role if you have something interesting to share.
  • You may pm me questions or ask them in the game thread but you may not get an answer to some things.
  • All roles are sane and known

ACTIVE PARTICIPATION IS REQUIRED.

  • All players are required to post a minimum 3 times per day. Any player who does not meet the reqired post counts will be subject to a mod kill. A mod kill and a lynch may both happen at my discretion. If multiple players do not meet the requirement, the one with the lowest post count will be killed

Roles

Electoral College:

  • You are the Electoral College and US Citizen.

    Abilities:

Each night you must choose a state (player) and a backup.  That player will become the elector for the next day phase.  If the primary choice is eliminated, the backup will become the elector.

You win when all threats to democracy are eliminated

Popular Candidate

  • You are the popular candidate and a US citizen
  • Abilities:
  • If the Electorate determines that you lost your election (aka you are lynched), the people will demand a recount and you will win your election.  The Electorate will be arrested (killed) for corruption.  Once you publicly win your election, you cannot become the Electorate.
  • If targeted by the deep state at night with their disinformation campaign (for the kill), you will not lose the election, but instead will uncover them and they will be arrested (killed)
  • This is a one shot ability as you are only running for office once this year
  • You win when all threats to democracy are eliminated

Voter

  • You are a voter and US Citizen

You have no abilities, however you may discuss and place votes during the day for which candidate you feel should lose (die).  However the Electors chosen by the electoral college will make the final decision on the election results each day.

You may be chosen by the Electoral College to become the Elector.  If chosen you and you alone will decide the fate of that day's election.  At any point during that day you may post  "PLAYER NAME"  HAS LOST THEIR ELECTION.  Please post it in bold and all caps so i do not miss it.  If you post that while not the Elector, you will be mod killed for voters fraud.

You win when all threats to American Democracy are eliminated

The Deep State

  • You are a member of the deep state
  • Abilities:
  • Each night as a faction you must chose one of the agents to spread disinformation about a player and cause them to lose their election (night kill)
  • Factional Communication:  Each night you may chat here
  • Win Condition:
  • You win when you have taken over the American electoral system or nothing can prevent that from happening

Welcome to this wild game, Dontavian!

Unvote

Honestly Robert did literally nothing so I have zero idea what he was up to. Might as well give Don a chance to actually play whatever role he got before judging him.

Keep in mind that as long as the Elector agrees to follow the popular vote on a given day that their individual mafia prowess is completely negated, at least this early in the game.

Completely agree, good point. All the more reason to focus on people who will go with this gameplan instead of messing around.

IDK what Robert did either, but I vow to fight to the bitter end... my lawyers are already filing lawsuits... Make Cyber Nations Great Again

Seriously... I guess I better start reading the thread to see if I can get a sense of WTF this mess is about...

How is it a safe kill?

I mean, mafia would want to keep the EC alive.

For risk of rolling a more suicidal EC like Tony or Torres.

The only play they would have for rolling the EC would be to roll it to Velocity (if the scum is lww)

But the odds are way too small for it to be worth it.

It's a safe kill because of the popular candidate, who will kill the first person to try to kill him (either by day or night, so he's also a threat to the elector in case we get someone who goes rogue). If the mafia is paying attention at all, they'll be trying to play around the PC since that's the only non lynch way they can die, and the EC is the only other role that is confirmed to not be the PC (other than mafia of course).

You are assuming that's the only way Mafia kills.

Manipulation of the EC is more of a possibility than EC getting killed.

That's why I agree with the strategy that TW and AbT thought of, which is to require the elector to vote for whoever gets the popular vote. It basically invalidates them until the very end of the game since picking off people at will (whether it's town or they bus their partner) will be an automatic lynch the next day. It's also why we can't afford to let it go to someone who's not gonna be serious since we'd risk an extra mislynch if they are town and just messing around, which would pretty much ruin any chance we have.

@Torres are you still playing? I see you making spam posts but you've suddenly ignored this game since being a tiny bit more engaged on D1. Any reason?

D1 is always fun. No one knows anything and it's just a bunch of random votes being thrown out.

  • Finster died D2, but there isn't a clear suspect.
  • Tony got mod-killed then un mod-killed.
  • Dontavian is replacing Robert.
  • MK is trying to persuade the EC to choose sensible elector (like a loser).
  • Unsure of who is on track of losing the election tonight?
  • I don't have much to add because there isn't much to go off of.
  • Plus, that was my first time posting in the spam in like 2 weeks

Feels like this game will be a very difficult one

Unvote.

I know I won't like the replacement of a candidate that hid during the campaign.

Sorry Dontavian but I agree with Kevin

Vote Dontavian

assuming my other ballot has been thrown out.

Obviously, my predecessor was not well thought of

Didn't know what to think of him, he was never here

Well, at least I’m active. I pledge to move beyond petty partisan politics and work to build a CN world that welcomes everyone...

Don't really understand what's happening in this game now. Not sure why people are piling on Don for replacing an inactive person, not like that's his fault, but whatever. Hopefully we get something useful out of it.

As a really delayed OMGUS and also for being weird about the EC

You are the weird one..

You are obviously saying it cause you like the EC since their first choice was you.

Lww's thinking goes like this.

"He supports me/my viewpoint, he must be town"

Or in this case.

He must be good.

Lol I was about to say, you do know the EC is a town role right? Anyway yeah, an EC who picks TW (and me) is good enough for this game. They had two different chances to pick a Tony or Torres and didn't, so they're obviously being serious which is about as much as they can do. Not sure what else you think someone in that role can do other than not pick me, which now they can't anyway lol.

VOTE:  Dontavian

I can still vote from the dead.

"National Enquirer projects Dontavian loses, rabble demands he concede"  There's definitely evidence of massive voter fraud, wide-spread Zombies voting, my Loyalists not being able to stand right next to the counters and verify (WHAT ARE THEY HIDING?!!)

One of the biggest arguments against them is they picked you.

Who obviously squander it, cause the one who's supposed to die is Tony.

Who is your scum partner.

If Tony turns up Scum, you are the other scum.

So since we decided to kill Tony anyways on n1.

Maybe tw should kill him tonight to reveal that he's scum along with Lww.

That's the only logical reason for Lww's sudden disappearance by deadline, when till then, he was the most active one.

People who are that active don't just go poof.

I already apologized for the Tony situation and explained what happened. It was a genuine mistake. I know it hurts town and that's my fault. Not sure what more I can say.

The whole Tony theory is hogwash, of course. Even in a hypothetical scenario where that setup was the case (which it's obviously not), I can promise you I wouldn't be stupid enough to not go for the easiest bussing in the world, especially not right after brewers just crushed a game by doing it. I'm more interested to see who ends up being on the first mafia train in this game if we ever actually get serious enough to find one, since I can almost guarantee someone will try it.

So since we decided to kill Tony anyways on n1.

I'm more interested in this bit. Who's the "we" that decided to do a night kill again?

Or are you confirming that it's actually you and TW which is why you're supportive of him getting elector again?

"And  we are reporting that suddenly out of nowhere ballots for Dontavian have been discovered at 3am and are being added to the count!!!"

Vote: Dontavian

Sorry nothing personal. But I voted for Robert early on.
