Last night I targeted iSocialism and indeed a kill action was performed.

 

 

Why exactly did you target him specifically? What exactly does your claimed role do?

Why exactly did you target him specifically? What exactly does your claimed role do?

it's a sister role to watcher, tracker, and follower role. Essentially a Voyeur watches someone and see what actions are proformed on any player.

Official Mafia Scum description:

The Voyeur is an informative role that can target a player at night and learn what was done to them that night (protection, investigation, etc), but not who did it.

Voyeurs can be of any alignment.

The Voyeur has very few variants; however, there are many related Roles:

The Tracker learns who a player targeted, but not what action that player performed.
The Follower learns what action a player performed, but not who that player targeted.
The Watcher learns who targeted a player, but not what actions were performed on them.
The Voyeur learns what actions were performed on a player, but not who targeted them.
The Motion Detector learns if any actions were performed by or on a player, but not what they were, or who else was involved.
A weaker variant of Voyeur learns if a player was targeted (by anyone other than the Voyeur), but learns neither who targeted them, nor which actions were performed on them.

I have a lot to catch up on. It honestly feels like this might be a role madness game, so maybe no lynching yesterday will end up working out.

IMO there is zero reason to role claim for this except to buy townie cred. This is literally the most useless thing you possibly could have shared, and you're too experienced to not know that, so the only half decent explanation is that you're hoping people assume a Voyeur who tracked the kill must be town.

Like dark fox mentioned, I would also like to know why Kevin targeted iSoc specifically.

It seems a pointless role claim to me too unless he just wanted to claim an avenger role to get protected at night? We all know someone killed iSoc at night, what is the new information that Kevin shared with this claim. But he doesnt really have a useful role that would warrant protection so much so that he has to role claim. Let's hear from Kevin first before piling on more votes on him.

To assume that he had a doctor role and that there are no doctors roles left would be premature. 

 

The real question we should be asking is which of us is vision (the next avenger to get killed)? And then if there is a doctor roll still in play, kevin can confirm if a protection action was taken on vision or not. If he is who he says he is.

 

Now it may not be wise to claim that doctor role if and who it currently is as it will become a prime target at night.

Yes my mistake he was a doctor, but the point remains, it doesn't mean no one can protect anymore. We don't know what any of the roles are.

We can certainly check if Kevin is telling the truth about his role by telling him to target someone on night 2 and then someone can perform an action and if kevin confirms the action correctly then he's telling the truth, if he doesn't confirm it correctly then we know he is scum. 

But I think we would be a lot better off trying to figure out who rolled vision. This way if someone can protect him, it would delay the next stone.

Both of these are not good ideas.

For Kevin, he can be telling the truth about his role and still be mafia, since voyeur does not have to be town aligned. Additionally, if he is mafia and they have any other power roles, he can be lying about his role but simply say that he tracked whoever was the target of their other role, and we would not be able to tell unless a tracker is able to follow Kevin and confirm his movements. Basically, we should absolutely not assume that an inability to prove his claim fake means that he's town. That's super dangerous and how town loses games like this.

Also, asking people to name claim in games that are heavily themed like this is generally considered poor form, if not outright scummy, since there's a good chance that the names could be important from a gameplay perspective. Besides, even if there is another protective role in the game, there's no guarantee that they would successfully protect someone (lots of things can break protection for scum), and it also puts everyone else at risk when the mafia feels confident that they know who is being protected and can target everyone else at will. And all of that being said, games usually don't have more than one town-aligned protective role unless there are multiple scum factions, so without any evidence of that, we are probably safest to assume that we're out of protective roles unless evidence comes up that proves otherwise.

iSocialism voted for Velocity who voted for Tony who voted for Zacch.

I found that this was an interesting chain and that's why I chose iSocialism as my voyeur target.

I chose to role claim for several reasons:

• show that the mod was not killing players
• preemptively make the claim in case anyone saw me visit a player that died
• give the town some information that can be discussed like we are doing now

The scum would probably not want to "waste" an early night-kill on me since I can't identify them but they would probably like to get me lynched since it eliminates a role that may hurt them later.

A tracker or watcher could have seen somebody else visit iSocialism.  A role claim by me afterwards would be even more sus.

 

It's Day 2 and people know somethin'
