Plane Crash II - Game Thread - GAME OVER!

Another day, another plane. Captain "Anger-Management" Tilden (As he was known secretly by the crew) had always been proud of how he handled the flights on his plane. Always smooth, orderly, and comfortable for the passengers. And he intended to keep it that way, he reflected, carrying his bags through the airport terminal. Today's flight was to be a tedious one over the atlantic. But never mind.

Got to keep alert, he mused as his bags went through a scanner. Terrorists were everywhere these days. The takeoff was, as always, impeccable. The passengers seemed fairly happy, apart from that hungover one complaining about the lack of painkillers, and Tilden settled himself down for a smooth flight.

A few hours into the flight, the door to the cockpit was nudged open, breaking the silence. Tilden stiffened. It was probably that flight attendant. It was no secret amongst the crew that Tilden had a thing for her. But he didn't care. He wasn't about to ruin his chances by shouting again.

"Ah, Marie, could you-"

That was as far as he got. Looking at the reflection in the window, he saw a man in plain clothes. A passenger? He was striding up to Tilden with purpose. Tilden's eyes widened as he saw the flash of a blade. He opened his mouth to speak, but couldn't. A knife was swiftly drawn across his throat. He choked, swiftly passing into unconsciousness.

And yet no-one noticed the 2 dead pilots in the cockpit. Marie, the flight attendant, was about halfway through serving drinks. She glanced to the left, flashed a fake smile to the passenger before seeing he was unconscious.

She sighed, and rolled her eyes, recognising the passenger as the one with the hangover. She was about to turn away, when something caught her eye. Had he spilt coffee on himself? She sighed again, reaching for some napkins.

Wait. That wasn't coffee.

She screamed, noticing the blood spread out over the man's torso. The passenger's heads turned round to look at her. The man's pocket identified him as a Police officer.

It was happening again...

i just thought of something. if tomorrow we lynch one of the people that was in the room and he turns out to be townie, expect the exposed scum to do the next NK. if he has the choice at least...

so whats your plan if the plane crashes and the cop doesnt know who the scum is? that gives the scum a free shot at the cop, assuming we go to the island format and forgo the plane after the crash

reasoning??

almost missed this...

reasoning? well by allowing people to choose it allows us to follow who is choosing to go in with who. essentially it would act in similar ways to a VC. i'll do some more thinking on it though.

I'm for suggesting room assignments, but let people choose their room and explain why they went against the suggestion.

again this gives mafia too easy an out. what if the person they want to be in a room with is assigned with them? then they won't change and we lose the information that for some reason they chose that room.

i do think that getting people to post why they choose a particular room is a good idea.

this:

1. Each scenario will have a map. In it will be numbered locations.

implies that we will eventually leave the plane. which is probable to keep the scum balanced and not end up with very few people and lots of rooms.

you're right mole, i just realised that if they did a nk already, they probably can do the new one without the restriction that maybe someone from their side has to do it (the goon i mean).

yeah, but i would rather not have the same people that were in the d1 nk room in the d2 nk room as well.

damn missed the whole room assignment thing cause the page opened on 3, oh well

as for the room assignment i think it should be up to the person to choose, my reasoning behind this is, its not hard for someone to make the list while being scum

basically scattering the scum anyways

first: why?

second: what makes you think that by moving/splitting them up we are moving them away from the d2 nk section? they could be in exactly the same place but not get nk'd.

Hard to say what the plan would be once we crash without knowing the setup...it will possibly be number locations again like junk mentioned.

We aren't looking for the cop to find scum right away.

We are hoping for the cop to get info while on the plane (ie. 2 townies).

Once we crash and know the setup...we can then decide how best to proceed.

It's fine with me if people choose which rooms they want to go to...so long as it is within the "person limit" and "correct rooms".

For example...if we go to the following format of room 1, 4, 7, and 8.

I don't want to see someone choosing room 6 just cuz they want to.

Also I don't want to see someone choosing a room that already has 4 people to then make it 5 just cuz they want to.

I think allowing people to chose their own room is a recipe for disastre. If we simply assign everyone to a room, then everyone who is not in the room they should be in has something to explain. Otherwise, with people moving around, someone can just claim that he miscounted the number of people already in a room.

Not really understanding junks and AoD discussion...(hint: use quotes).

Let's say we go with the plan as mentioned and assume we don't lynch on D1.

Room 1 - 3 people

Room 4 - 3 people

Room 7 - 3 people

Room 8 - 4 people

I would think if a nk happened on N1 (which I now think it will happen cuz they will be at a disadvantage if they don't nk)...it will be in the room with 4 people. Thus there would be 3 remaining suspects to choose the mafia from (33/33/33).

Thinking about it...perhaps we should go for a lynch on D1.

Thus...even if we lynch a townie...all rooms will have 3 people in it.

And if a nk happens...then we would be looking at 2 suspects (50/50).

I think allowing people to chose their own room is a recipe for disastre. If we simply assign everyone to a room, then everyone who is not in the room they should be in has something to explain. Otherwise, with people moving around, someone can just claim that he miscounted the number of people already in a room.

Perhaps then...something like that could be a scum tell.

I mean it's not hard to count up to 3 and not hard to know only rooms (for example...1, 4, 7, 8) are available to be occupied.

Still, why risk a townie making a genuine mistake and getting lynched? What kind of evidence do you expect to get from people moving to certain rooms? If the scum choses to kill, we will only have 2 suspects. Those will have both moved to the same room. So what will be the difference? Also, later on what kind of evidence do you expect to get from this? The scum who made the kill will have outed himself and be dead. The others will have had no reason to behave differently from a townie since they were not the ones who were going to kill.

Makes sense...

I posted the room distribution based on player list on the first page.

i have reasons but...posting them will tell the mafia what they are and allow them to better avoid them.

essentially: everyone has a reason for joining a room. by assigning rooms we are giving them a reason, and thus allowing them to avoid choosing based on their own reason(such as wanting to kill some person).

now that i think about it...

FOS: Martino. those kinds of questions can tell the mafia a lot of what to look out for...and what to avoid doing...or what to do in the first place...
