  1. Well, yeah It's up to the courts to determine that. It's why we have them. Not a perfect system by far, but a decent one at making sure peace is kept, and justice is dealt.
  2. I'd like to see BP (and just any other company, really) be accountable for its actions. In this specific case, we've got an oil spill caused by negligence that was caused by them, or contractors. Whoever was responsible is up for the courts to decide. And that's my key argument: courts. Whoever's right or wrong, regardless of my personal opinion, must be left to the judicial system in order to be settled down. I'm sure BP, whose financial report shows it had a net profit of $23 billion last year can afford a legal team and, if reparations are due, pay them. Interestingly enough, BP sued the contractors of the platform for $40 billion, the estimated total damages of the accident. Exonerating BP from the courts does literally nothing but obstructing the legal processes. I agree a lot of people you mention, Lysis, are smart. Heck, they're financial geniuses. But they aren't known to help the guys below. And, in this case, those affected by an oil spill.
  3. So did I, but apparently large companies are exempt of it because of "frivolous lawsuits". It doesn't make much sense to stop lawsuits against companies that caused an ecological disaster, in my opinion What state are you from, Lysis?
  4. I'm calling bullshit on these votes. You voted me to "hear my analysis", yet you didn't follow up on the issue at all, even after I asked you to clarify what you wanted. Asking a question without being interested in the response is a mafia-mindset, and made worse by promptly jumping on a popular bandwagon. All your behavior so far looks like you're trying to blend-in with other posters as opposed to being interested in figuring out the game. And that makes you mafia. ##Vote Blaskowicz I'm still interested in your opinion. I just switched my vote as I did not hear from you during that day, and found a more suspicious reason to vote for someone (bandwagoning).
  5. http://www.usnews.com/news/articles/2014/06/06/bobby-jindal-signs-bill-to-block-lawsuits-against-oil-and-gas-companies Well, damn.
  6. I'm a RC, kind of. Ask away!
  7. Woah there. I think all nations are imperialistic in ambitions, it just so happens that the US is the current dominant one. Let's not forget Russia taking over half of Ukraine, China annexing Tibet, etc. Obtaining power is a natural part of politics, and I won't deny the US foreign policy is murky at best, warhawk at worst, but pretty much all countries act like that.
  8. I smell bandwagoning! Unvote: Hapa Vote: Lyner
  9. It means you get to take one Mafia member with you to the grave. Which I guess it's pretty neat. And mostly to hear your arguments, Vote: Hapa
  10. Nope! Angel?
  11. I'm a fireman, tasked to put out fires.
  12. ...maybe? Angel?
  13. So lets find the baddies. Of the posters so far, who is the baddest one of them all? If I knew, it'd be quite an easy game, no? I've no idea... However, I would be up for nobody to use their ability tonight, and see if the mafia decides to hit, and to whom.
  14. We try and locate the Mafia Your strategy gets much much more useful in the endgame, so unless we detect a pattern within the Mafia, we should refrain from using it, unless that person is sure it will get killed tonight. If the Mafia starts killing early, we adopt a different strategy. Basically, let's find out the baddies first.
  15. No, that is a terrible idea. We have exactly one shot. If the mafia decides to not kill us in the first few three days, and we all use that, then more than 80% of us will have wasted our power. How about this, we talk, then we decide what do?
  16. 2 spots left now. I'm in.
