[KH-18] Scales of Justice - Mafia Win!
Concerning MsShawdi - if SBG is scum and Kitkat is a killer, does that make me a vigilante? This post feels townish to me, if only because I sense confusion of MK's part. Might be throwing us off the scent, but if he doesn't understand how the mafia roles work (they don't switch mid-game), I have a hard time believing him to be scum at the present time. Doctor and roleblocker do not affect the strongman. Its a sure fire kill. It's better imo to have a cop to find out the strongman and then lynch him maybe. Thanks for regurgitating exactly what I said about the strongman's power. And you mention to MAYBE lynch the strongman if the cop finds him. Sounds like we DEFINITELY should lynch the strongman if the cop finds him, don't you think? Vote: Rafay Also, FOS SeeBee for being SeeBee.

How does a Strongman negate all the other possible choices? It does negate the doctor and roleblocker, but it doesn't do jack against the tracker or watcher. I've never been a proponent for a no lynch as it negates our ability to find the mafia. Yes, we have a cop and tracker this time, but who's to say they won't get night killed tonight? If you do the math, worst case scenario, the game ends on day 3 via LYLO no matter what. Provided we miss on every lynch and both mafia remain, on the final day we'd have two choose either between 3 townie and 2 mafia or 4 townie and 2 mafia. Having an odd number of people only helps the town. As for the tracker accidentally outing the cop, the only way that happens is if the mafia and cop target the same person. Otherwise, if the cop investigates somebody and that person lives through the night, the watcher gets more powerful since at that point they'll know two confirmed town (themselves and the cop). The cop on the other hand does not have that luxury, as for as we know, an innocent result could be a godfather. That's not to say a tracker can't whiff as well, but in theory, their results should be more sound (unless the mafia went with a ninja power role).

[MK-2] Friends and Enemies Mafia - Mafia Win
Congrats on the mafia win. Admittedly, with the early death and some other things going on at the time, I didn't follow the thread afterwards, but there's one post I'd like an answer for if it at all possible. I over-analyzed this post way too much. I kept trying to think if the blue font was some sort of code for something. While we know now that socialism was mafia, I kept wondering if Kevin had himself, FS, and Socialism in blue text for some secret reason. Perhaps hinting they were the masons. Not sure why I was also marked as blue, but it's why I pushed for a lynch on FS. My thinking was if he was scum, it incriminated the other two and if he was cleared as a mason, it would have cleared the other two.

Roleblocker and Doctor aren't bad choices, you guys are correct in that matter. I wouldn't necessarily say it's condemning in the slightest, but as Lachiton says, at the moment it's all we have to work with although the game is still very young. Heck for all we know, both mafia members could have voted for cop / tracker to blend in with everyone else, especially if they picked the ninja as their power role. In that sense, I do wish the votes were a bit closer as provided they're votes wouldn't count, it could have been a giveaway. As is, taking away two votes from cop / tracker still has them in the lead regardless.

Going to be a bit different not having a clean slate for day 1 like most mafia games. Just doing a quick skim, a few things stick out to me, which may or may not be of significance. King Cankles / Rafay - Only had one post during day 0 which was a vote for roles with practically nothing else to add. While we were only voting for which roles would be in the game and not necessarily going for mafia, would have been nice to get more of their thoughts for the setup. Other thing to note, everyone voted for cop. Everyone did not vote for tracker. At the very least, I wouldn't be surprised to see one mafia person vote for tracker, but would both of them is the main question. Some anomalies: Rafay - Only voted for a cop. No second role. Lachiton - Voted for a doctor. Reasonable vote for someone who claims to have zero experience as it can typically be a strong power role. Kitkat / Lord MK - Voted for a Roleblocker. This is the most interesting of the second votes as it's different than the rest of the players and no easy way to explain why. Not saying this makes anyone suspicious as of right now as I just did a quick skim for vote and post count, but not actual post content. Just thought it was something of interest to note in the early game.

Fair enough. Coming back from the dead, I'll admit to not being familiar with who here has and has not played mafia. Between the way you've carried yourself thus far and my own presumptions, I just figured you had at least a little experience under your belt.

Maybe, but I wouldn't put too much weight on it. It's worth mentioning that Lachiton did mention he's never played mafia before. If he did any reading beforehand to try to understand how the game works, he could have seen that the Doctor is one of the more common town roles (probably second behind cop?).

Wanted to do a second post for my other thought, partially as it came during the write up for my previous post. For whatever reason, it didn't dawn upon me until further consideration how powerful the tracker and watcher can be and I can see it's power being easily overlooked. If our mafia is well-versed, I could see them taking the sneaky route and going with a ninja as their power role. That said, I think the power could be easily overlooked. Heck, I overlooked it myself last night which makes me glad in hindsight I didn't place a vote yet. With the power being of the more subtle variety that is why I think a Strongman or Godfather is the two likely options the mafia went with.

I see that my thinking of X-shot possibilities from last night has been nullified by Kevin's clarification. Thanks for that, although now we don't have to over You're not wrong about the doctor being a powerful role. But with the strongman having unlimited shots, it essentially makes the doctor useless. One strategy is for the cop to come out with backing of a doctor and be safe until the doctor himself is killed (although at that point the cop is generally a dead man walking), but if the strongman negates the doctor, you don't want the cop outing himself into the public (without reason). I'd be curious to see what everyone thinks the mafia took as their power role. While I'm undecided myself, I don't feel that the ninja was taken. Not that it can't be powerful in the right setup, but given the other two options, I'd say it's the least likely. Especially if the mafia knew that there was no X-shot modifier. That said, if I was mafia, I'd heavily consider choosing the godfather role. While I woudn't know what 2nd role the town would take, I'd place money on the cop being at least one of the roles and it would help negate the numbers game in what could potentially be a short game. Of course, the mafia could also worry about a potential town save by a roleblocker / doctor role and decide to make all their kills more or less guaranteed. That said, here's my thoughts on roles that may be helpful from most to least. Cop - Even with a godfather in play, he'll still be able to find one mafia via investigation Watcher - If he targets a person the cop does, essentially clears two people at the same time for a powerful effect. If the mafia targets the same person as the watcher, it's essentially a revenge kill. Has the same backfire potential as the Tracker, but does so in a 50/50 matter as opposed to a "either / or" Tracker - While he could find the cop or worse the non active mafia member (if both are still alive), would be a good backup and can be a lynchpin when only one mafia remains. Could also backfire if the mafia and cop target the same person. Roleblocker - Not as effective with a strongman in play, but if there isn't one (or he's dead), gets powerful in the late game. Can block a late game kill and turn a bad situation into a town win Doctor - Negated by a strongman. A powerful role but potentially useless depending on the mafia's power role choice. I keep flip flopping in my mind what would be a better 2nd vote between the watcher and tracker, but I'd say a cop at the very least is a definite. I'd say I'm leaning watcher however for the aforementioned reasoning of it being more powerful than the tracker in the right situations.

Kevin - Question concerning night 0. Does night 0 only last for the distribution of power roles or will it still last 48 hours? Also, since SBG placed a vote before the mafia decided on their power role, does his vote count? Your role PMs should mention the number of votes you receive if you're a townie. Never played a game before where we get to choose our own power roles, so this is an interesting setup. That said, we shouldn't blindly rush into voting for cops and doctors. While they are powerful roles for the town, I'd think it would be wise to consider what the mafia would want as their power role in this setup. Also worth considering is the fact that X-Shot has not been revealed as a modifier. Being as the game is semi-open and not fully open, that may be something that's kept secret from us. If that is the case, one possibility could be that everything has an X-shot or everything is unlimited. Being as our mod is an experienced mafioso, I wouldn't be surprised to see to see him throw a wrench into things. That being said, if we presume X-shots in a conservative / traditional sense, it's same to presume Mafia Strong man is an X-shot ability and possibly roleblocker are X-shot at the very least. Anything else is up in the air, but with how the different power role options can counteract each other, I'm leaning on the fence that anything else may be unlimited (only one I'm on the fence about is cop).

Unvote Canik Welcome to the land of the living. With the smiley emote, not sure how much of this post is for the lols or if it's being completely unobservant since Canik posted twice before this. I was curious about FS as well. While I'm aware past games are nothing to go on, I did skim the Harry Potter mafia just to get an idea of his post structure. Some of it I'm sure is due to lack of experience, but there's a lot of fluff in there too. Right now I'm leaning one of two ways. Between the two of Canik / Rafay, Rafay is the suspicious one here. But with him defending Canik and Canik's vote on him, I can't help but wonder if it's one scum trying to separate themselves the other in case if things go south. FS I'm feeling a little blue on. On one hand, he hasn't seemed scummy (or seemed anything really). However, his post history raises potential problems of not being helpful for town and I almost feel his death gives us the most possible information at the present time. Vote: FS108

FS's very insightful posts so far. As for why we vote, that's already been answered, but if we don't vote, the mafia get to hide in the shadows, munching away on their cheesy poofs as they laugh at us (and make a mess because cheesy poof dust gets EVERYWHERE). As for you don't know, it's day 1. NOBODY knows anything on day 1. All we can do is dissect posts and while the odds are we'll lynch town on day 1, we can use any posts to hopefully piece the clues together for future days. If you don't vote (hitting on your 3rd vote), we don't get that information and we're no further along in our hunt of the mafia.

This may be more coincidental than anything else, but does their votes being only two hours apart and both talking about bandwagons raise any flags for anyone else? Elaborate. I get canik. Why me? cuz i haven't taken off my vote from ur name? Actually, your vote has nothing to do with it, and when I was doing a little bit of brainstorming, I completely forgot you were still voting for me. Plus, I understand your vote as more of a joke vote, so there's that. Technically, there's no reason to suspect Canik at the moment as he hasn't done anything scummy. HOWEVER, one post of yours stands out to me. Obviously, we do hope Canik wakes up as a whole if he is indeed town. Checking his profile, he still has yet to log in (does anyone know if he uses discord or anything?). That said, the way your post is worded here sparked some interest to me. Granted, the first day or two does involve grasping at some straws in a hope to find the mafia and it's a lot of blind leading the blind. More so without a cop. But the way you speak when you say "it'd be a waste to lose a silent town player". While true in a technical sense, it reads to me as if you know he's town. And there's only two possible ways to know he's town. If you're a mason, or if you're a cop. I'm not willing to vote for you as this point in time, but if Canik is voted off the island and he comes up as mafia, your suspicion goes up in my book (at least unless something greater comes along). That said, if he comes up a mason it may be a point in your favor.

Lord MK - Concerning the vote count, you have Ferastical on there twice. His vote for Rhizo should be taken off iirc. Now that the weekend is over, we should come up with a more solid plan. As of right now, it appears Canik may be getting replaced with presumably SBG. Someone will have to explain the SBG always being scum joke to me, but perhaps an alternative may not be a bad option if it comes to that. I have one or two ideas, but it'll be easier to mention in a few hours when I'm home. Don't think it's possible to multiquote on mobile to my knowledge.

Who will Win the Super Bowl?
Sure Cutler isn't great, but he's been getting shit on unjustly. While coming out of retirement you have to wonder if he kept in game shape or not, he's back under Adam Gase (who I love) and it's possible having a new environment could revitalize him. Will he be prone to interceptions, probably. Will he be the next coming of Dan Marino? Hell no. But we're no worse at QB then we were before. And maybe it's just me, but a little part of me was happy to see Tannehill go down. I feel we played better behind Matt Moore and at this point, Tannehill is damaged goods. That many head coaching changes couldn't have been good for him and I'd just like for us to scrap him and start over at QB. As for Super Bowl predictions, haven't kept up too much this year but how about the Giants? Seems about time they have another run and stop the Patriots in their track again, yeah?

And by assigning targets for a war, you mean assigning townie targets in their war against the mafia, yes? In all seriousness, 30 hours in and we haven't heard from Kitkat, Lyner, or Canik. Kitkat shows as private and the latter two haven't been online since the start of the game. I can't speak for their activity levels as a whole (as someone who hasn't been around in a decade), but correct me if I'm wrong, it does seem that forum activity takes a lull during the weekends. And to complete the trifecta of voting for current inactives: Vote Canik
