It's Happening.... Again
The conversion happened at the beginning of the night, the investigation then occurred. So, for example, if I was converted and then investigated, I would be reported as Pod. KevinH was the investigator, and in this scenario that happened, as he was interested in Falzis right after the man was converted by Narsis. As to if the Investigator or Friend could be converted, the answer is no. However, they could be killed. This never came up, as the two conversions from Narsis were Falzis and you, Canuk. Answer your questions?

It's Happening.... Again
There was a investigator, who could find out if people were 'Pods (via Mod), and there was a Friend, who could tell a person (via Mod) every round that he was 100% for sure human.

It's Happening.... Again
CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE...... BACKWARDS EDITION! Now with added hindsight! Alas, the game is over and the battle not won, as there was indeed a night kill. When the people of Samwise awoke the next morning, they found their friendly Bartender stabbed to death with a sharpened candle. Ironically, it looked very much like the hard wax of Aquinas' craftsmanship. Poor ScoutX, getting it as if from beyond the grave.... There only being four townspeople total, and two of them Pod people, the forces of human nature stand no chance against the greater threat of the plants. Soon Mark Wahlberg will be joined by a almost-all-star cast of people who run away from trees when they begin to rustle in the wind. Yes, The Happening is here - and the untold beginnings of these dark die were cast in a small town, where a young man named Narsis was the first lone Pod person, never suspected and *very* good at his infiltration job.

It's Happening.... Again
[OOC: Sorry for the delay. I had a business trip to AZ, and it turns out AZ air either hates me or has some weird strain of flu virus I've never seen. I've spent more time on my back recently than this girl Emily I knew, and the only thing in the air that ever got HER in trouble was.... her legs] Ahem, anyway: Aquinas slowly crafted his last candle, the longest and hardest candle the village of Samwise had ever seen. The bartender, a regular customer of his, nodded in appreciation at the firm shaft and rounded tip. A single, solitary tear slipped down his cheek - and everyone got really, really wet. I mean, it started to rain pretty hard. Unfortunately, Aquinas would never get to watch his last creation burn. As the rope was slung high over that great tree (a different branch from the one Pod Man #1 was hanged on), Aquinas passed to KevinH his candle. Of all those present, he trusted this man the most - in some ways his vote had hurt the hardest. After a lifetime of knowing what to do with a candle, Aquinas was used to pain, but he never had thought it would come to this. The crowd held their breath and waited for the tell-tale dissolving as Aquinas expired, but sadly nothing came. Just the sagging evidence that there was once a man here - Samwise had at some time possessed one more bright spirit, but that candle had been enthusiastically extinguished. NIGHT THREE BEGINS

It's Happening.... Again
And with that, additional votes are needed - the day is over (regardless of Aquinas' vote, it will either tie with him vs. EM, and he wins due to seniority [see my quote, Kevin voted for him Jan 29 2010, 11:19am], OR he votes for someone apart from EM, and he wins with 3 votes). I'll post the next part of the story as soon as I get the chance. No matter what, the people have chosen Aquinas. Guess it pays to vote after all
-
It's Happening.... Again
Due to my figures, I see only three votes: Scout for Electric, CD for Electric, and Kevin for Aquinas. Electric needs to vote, so does Narsis and Aquinas. Guys? :big_boss:

w00t! This is awesome. Thank you sir! Actually, is there any way you could tweak this so the background is black, or the image is darker somehow? I don't want to mess up the visibility of the Underworld stickman (or his flaming staff) but it would look neat-o. Final request: at the top his staff's flame is cut off a tiny bit, would there be any way you could make it look complete (aka not cut off) so I could possibly throw this banner on a black t-shirt? I promise I'd send you pics of me rocking it, picking up chicks, and them the next morning wearing my t-shirt....

I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about....

It's Happening.... Again
Due to my figures, I see only three votes: Scout for Electric, CD for Electric, and Kevin for Aquinas. Due to my earlier post, I'm not going to close D2 due to the war etc going on unless we have a consensus. So I'll keep an eye here for people posting decisions, and when we have the right number we can progress to the 'next level.'
-
It's Happening.... Again
Due to the war, the Sunday deadline is flexible. If people feel they can come and make votes etc, I'm not going to stop them - but obviously if on Monday morning we have 2 posts and a dead board I'm not going to go crazy. Enjoy the war, chaps, and get here when you can. I'll be waiting

It's Happening.... Again
"How will the town ever win?" One man cries out in despair, while drowning his sorrows in the local pub the next morning. Despite the hours that had passed since Falzis disintegrated into purple flowery mush, the memory was still fresh in the townsfolk's minds - and the good cheer of yesterday seemed muted by the harsh realities of today. One folk had made an excellent suggestion, however - the brightness of the day may be clouded by suspicion and fear, but you can't see clouds from the inside of a bar. So here they all crowd, with their gin-and-tonics and pints, mulling over the possibility that today might bring another lynching. And woe be the man who doesn't buy the next round of swill. One innocent dead, one Pod man gone. The balance rests on a knife edge, and today's actions will speak volumes on the future of Samwise. DAY 3 COMMENCES If we don't have a majority vote (which starts the lynch), deadline is MIDNIGHT SUNDAY 1/31 your time.

It's Happening.... Again
Turn them out, knaves all three Since the best question has already been asked, we must draw our attention to the next question - and the next body. When the basis of all action is rumour, and rumour itself is little less than infant legend, these men of Samwise Gamgee are not just fighting for their lives; they are creating legends. But how will these legends depict them? Will they recall the town council's acts of bravery? Or possibly the town council acting in wisdom? Or maybe - the council as tyrants? There is little these heavy-hearted people can do but push on and make the call. The call to action was made, and it was chosen. Not a light decision - I should add - no matter what Falzis' current affiliation was at the time of his demise, he baptized the townsfolk's children and blessed their deceased relatives. And as that robe was slung over the lowest branch of the town common tree, few met his eyes. Well, one did. As the others ignored his pleas and re-slung the robe over the SECOND lowest branch of the tree (you can't have a hanging when the branch is 5 ft, and the poor priest is at least 5'9"), one man raised and stared into those soon-to-be-glassy orbs of fear. ...........I guess Pod people, too, fear death. As the jerking of Falzis' body slowly came to a standstill, the clothes began to hiss and drop to the floor as the body melted. From where the drippings splat on the grass, a strange yet beautiful purple flower grew. Maybe the townsfolk would mow the lawn later - maybe they would let it be. But for now, there was one less Pod person among them - and they had stepped one pace closer to the brave and wise council of legend. NIGHT TWO commences.

It's Happening.... Again
Votes are in, and the people have spoken. I will update here shortly when I have figured out exactly where Donald is hiding.... since the hammer has fallen, please refrain from posting here until I get the next block of story up, and we kickstart the nighttime. Cheers.

It's Happening.... Again
As it stands, by my math, Falzis has three votes and CanucksDynasty has two. Narsis and Aquinas have yet to vote, both would need to vote for CanucksDynasty to end the day with the hammer on him, a single vote by either will mean curtains for Falzis. Deadline is MIDNIGHT THURSDAY 1/28 your time.

It's Happening.... Again
All players have an occupation as part of their character sheet - if/how they choose to use it is completely up to them.

It's Happening.... Again
Yep, and then those who have not submitted get a PM reminder. If I'm going to expect you to be committed and active, I have to do my part too.

It's Happening.... Again
Not to butt in, but I was fastidious to ensure all actions were taken in the correct order. I do accept actions before their deadline, but remind those submitting them that events happening in the meantime may render their desires moot.

Me want. Something to do with how incredibly awesome I am. Possibly even with a raccoon, as I seem to have turned into one.

It's Happening.... Again
Day 2 commences. Tired and weary of the possibility that there is one less townie, the people return to their homes and sleep. In the night, one moves among them - and yet when the sun rises no dead bodies are discovered. At the next day's town meeting, all are present and accounted for. The whispers once again start - is so-and-so hungover, or is that wince of headache one of the 'Signs'? Could someone among us now possess... The Sixth Sense? Are these Pod people really Unbreakable? What is going on in The Village? Maybe we should find a chick and drown her, and then she'll be Lady in the..... okay, okay, I'll stop. Sorry. If we don't have a majority vote (which starts the lynch), deadline is MIDNIGHT THURSDAY 1/28 your time.

It's Happening.... Again
Rub a dub dub, Three men in a tub, And who do you think they be? The butcher, the baker, The candlestick maker. Turn them out, knaves all three With the solemn stares of an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting, the townsfolk decide that that best option IS to kill someone. There were some arguments for, some arguments against, but the possibility of offing a Pod person just seemed too good to be passed up. More interestingly was how the town was split, all of them either backing the man who used them Holy words, or the more meek and quiet bread man. Some knew him for his sense of humour, all knew that he made great Viking rolls, Norwegian Whole Wheat slices, Cranberry Raisin Cheese Bread, and (of course) who could forget his Swedish Limpa? Yes, you guys killed the baker. The best question asked now is - what happened when he was hanged high? Rumour is, Donald had mentioned in passing that the bodies of these Pod people disintegrate in death. Well, if this is true, then Tobias was no Pod man. He was just a small time business owner who wanted to rise like the bread he so expertly made. And who is going to make your sandwiches now, people? Don't feel too bad, though. Had it been a tie, Tobias would have still got it based on seniority (he had the oldest vote for him). Spreadsheet has been cleared, his name has been removed. IT IS NOW NIGHT ONE. PM(s) have gone out, I will update when we are starting Day 2.

It's Happening.... Again
Not that it matters, but in 3 hours or so MY time the deadline approaches. I will be calculating and writing the next chapter, depending on how fantastic this evening goes. Her name is Emily, she's a Libra, and likes long walks on the beach, so I'm hoping it will go well. Pity the fool who decides to check the laundry room in about, uh, 25 minutes time. That is all.

It's Happening.... Again
I'm updating the spreadsheet now, however: 1/ It was supposed to be a self-maintained entity people would update themselves, making sure I didn't goof when making crucial decisions. Ergo, how can a fail-safe system work when the guy who tally's the votes also updates the sheet? That's what I call "pulling an Enron." 2/ There is a difference between 'updating' and 'screwing with' - if person A notices person B's vote isn't listed, person A can add it. I will check the forum anyway before making the judgment call (hence the words 'fail-safe system'). We're all adults here. Well, apart from ScoutX, who is a 12 year old from Kentucky who has a crush on Shania Twain. 3/ Thank you all for playing.
