It's Happening.... Again
I am going through vote by vote to make sure the spreadsheet is correct. I am less active on weekends (as at work I am paid to "surf") but I shall be monitoring. Edit: The good news is, everyone apart from Narsis has made a vote (as he retracted). The bad news is, I see no majority.... So day 1 drags on Check the spreadsheet, ask the people you feel should live (or die) some questions, and have at ye! Every person has a part to play, should they choose to play it or not could mean staying on... or straying off the reservation. Anyway, good luck to all.

It's Happening.... Again
Aquinas and Falzis have yet to vote, not to mention any changes of heart people may have - we need a 5 majority to lynch someone at this point, or a 5 vote of 'no lynch' to progress to 'the next level.'
-
It's Happening.... Again
I disagree, the opening salvo - sure, maybe the joke votes etc are random - but the later votes should be as much about attitude and prior actions than 'lolz.'
-
It's Happening.... Again
It's been updated. KevinH has 3 votes against, 2 more needed to gain a simple majority. "No lynch" has 2 votes, 3 needed to gain. Electric has 1 vote.

It's Happening.... Again
As I said before, I've been working the numbers for a couple of days, and am confident both sides have a more or less equal fighting chance. Well, I didn't want you guys getting bored. Hades - when I tried to reply to you, your inbox was full. Clear it out a bit then I can reply. Peoples - Since I haven't seen this setup, this one won't be going on the Wins and Losses. Hades, PM me the setup when possible, so I can take a look. Then I can decide yes, I will update it soon. Shh. -Mole

It's Happening.... Again
Yes, sir. Pod people are alien replicas of the humans (and the original is simultaneously destroyed) so by converting you become a Pod person, and although you share their memories and experiences, you now bat for the other team.

It's Happening.... Again
I've spent a large amount of time running numbers on the possible outcomes, so if this turns into a complete mess I have no-one to blame but myself. However - to clarify: Basically, instead of scum in this game you have the Pod people (duh). This group of people possess one power only - collectively at night they can choose to kill OR convert a townie. If you all wake up tomorrow and one of the townies is dead, there was no conversion. Wake up, and you all are still alive, one more of you may now be a Pod - or there may have been no action taken that night. This is a modification of the Werewolf role, as the Werewolf setup (in my mind) was thoroughly complicated with "resurrections" and "killing people multiple times" which seemed a little retarded. As per the opening post, Pod people cannot gain a 50% or greater percentage via conversion - so there will be blood, even if the townies refuse repeatedly to lynch. Hope that clears things up, you know where I am if you have questions. Edit: Also, to clear something else up I noticed in the last thread. "What happens if the deadline is reached, and there is no 'majority'?" This is most likely to happen if either (1) some people are inactive, or don't vote or (2) the spread of votes is evenly distributed. In scenario 1, all those unvoting members at the deadline become "abstaining" and lose their vote that round, and in the case of (2) whoever has the oldest vote of lynch gets it. Using right now as an example (pretending this moment was day 1 deadline) we would have 5 voting members and 3 abstaining. KevinH's first vote would mean we currently have a no-lynch occur, if he changed it to anything else his head would be in the noose. PM me with questions, or post here.

It's Happening.... Again
By my math, Sunday is January 24th - which is the deadline of day 1. We then switch to night, which will most likely last 24 hours or less (the Cylons and power players on the last round were very responsive, so good times). Ergo, if all goes well, expect day 2 to start around Tuesday of next week.

It's Happening.... Again
With the absence of Donald slowly spreading through the town's collective conscience, the people of Samwise Gamgee decide to get together and call a meeting. In the vast and echoing collective common room of City Hall (it's not really that vast, but when only 8 people show to your meeting, it seems it) the townies eye each other suspiciously. There have been no murders, no real reason to suspect anything is going on - but Donald said there was, and Donald (in these parts) is the closest thing to "the man" anyone has seen in a century. Well, 96 years - back in 1914 a cowboy by the name of Bill Hicks terrorized the ladies for many years. His reign ended when the men, mad their wives were being shagged rotten by a dirty scoundrel, invited him over for a game of cards, and poisoned him. He was such THE MAN that they then had to shoot him a few times, and then drown in the lake. Donald, knowing this, wisely does not accept invitations to people's houses to play cards. In any case, the townies survey each other, and as one begins to speak, accusations begin to fly. DAY 1 COMMENCES If we don't have a majority vote (which starts the lynch), deadline is MIDNIGHT SUNDAY 1/24 your time.

It's Happening.... Again
The Happening.... *not* crap M. Night Shyamalan version Scenario: The once quiet town of Samwise Gamgee has been having some trouble recently: movie attendance is down, happiness seems at an all time low, and no-one is buying Valentine's cards! One resident - Donald Sutherland, a Canadian character actor with a film career spanning over 50 years - seems to remember a movie he once starred in that had a similar plot. He announces to the town there can only be ONE cause: people are being replaced by replicas grown from plantlike pods! He calls his out-of-town friend (and co-star in the 1978 movie), Leonard Nimoy, who reminds him how the movie had a totally crap ending for Humanity, and persuades Sutherland to run away with him. Together they will find William Shatner's truck bed camper (which he still lives in) and attempt to turn it into an inter-stellar ship. Meanwhile, the nice townfolk stare at each other in confusion. What should decent, smart people do? MOVE, of course. What are YOU gonna do? Try to figure out who the pod guys are and lynch 'em during the daylight! I'm not kidding, folks. That's the plan, unless you want to "make like Sutherland" or "pull a Nimroy." Which would be totally lame, and your future children would disown you. So there is good news and bad news. The bad news is, the pod people move at night - and might switcheroo OR kill one of the townsfolk (never both). The good news is, due to their desire to blend in, they will never switcheroo to a equal number or majority. If there are 3 townsfolk and 1 pod person, the next morning there will still be 3 townsfolk (if noone was murdered). If pod people outnumber or equal the Innocents during the day, the pods win, if the Innocents wipe out the pod people, Donald Sutherland can come home. Rules: [01] Votes should be in bold. If you do not bold your vote, it will not be counted, unless you're clever and add it to the spreadsheet also. Failsafe system! [02] Please put some effort into making posts longer than 1 or 2 sentences. I can't force you to do it, but it would be helpful. [03] Lynching will require a simple majority of votes. Once a player has reached the necessary majority, their pleas are useless and any attempts to unvote will be unheeded. The exception to this rule is if the deadline is reached, and no majority has been achieved - see below * [04] You may vote: no lynch. Majority votes of this kind are necessary to end the day without a death. [05] Once your death scene has been posted, you’re dead. You can make a single “Bah!” post but no relevant information. [06] No small text. Don’t edit/delete previously submitted posts either. [07] Don’t quote any PMs from me. If you do, I will destroy you. [08] If you have a night choice to make, it is due by the posted deadline. I will not wait for you. If you do not submit a choice to me, I’ll flip a coin or get creative, depending on how much I've had to drink. [09] If you anticipate being unavailable for more than a 24-hour period, please post a notice to that effect in the thread. Treat this game as a commitment. Be considerate – don’t leave us hanging. [10] If you have any questions at all, please PM me or post the question in the thread. [11] Remember, it’s a game and it’s supposed to be fun. Be nice to your fellow players. *"What happens if the deadline is reached, and there is no 'majority'?" This is most likely to happen if either (1) some people are inactive, or don't vote or (2) the spread of votes is evenly distributed. In scenario 1, all those unvoting members at the deadline become "abstaining" and lose their vote that round, and in the case of (2) whoever has the oldest vote of lynch gets it. Believe it or not, this is to HELP the townies, trust me. Vote for a player to be lynched by posting and using the NIFTY SPREADSHEET BELOW. The spreadsheet shows you (at any moment) how things stand, the posting is so historically people can look back and decide how evil or decent you are. Yes, we can also post votecounts, but the spreadsheet is the best way to make sure I don't miss something or screw up. If there are 2 players with the same amount of votes at deadline, then I will lynch the one who reached that number of votes first. Players: 1/ ScoutX 2/ Falzis 3/ Aquinas 4/ CanucksDynasty 5/ KevinH 6/ Electric Mango 7/ Narsis 8/ Tobias Greene Finally.... THE NIFTY SPREADSHEET OF AWESOMENESS The above link is to a spreadsheet which lists everyone still alive, and a column for each player. This is to save me the endless back and forth that I've seen here. Open the sheet, find the column at the top with your name, and then place an X in that column under who you want killed (list of candidates is on the left). YOU SHOULD ALL HAVE PMs SITTING IN YOUR INBOX WITH CHARACTERS. LET ME KNOW IF THERE ARE ANY SNAGS.

Hammering out the kinks, this one is going to be good....

Journey Back To The Battlestar - Game Over!
I don't know why SinKon was taken out, but I DO know it wasn't because of players in the other thread. ScoutX suggested it, and Electric said it was fine with him.

Hades' Mafia Game
This will not be starting immediately, as I have yet to come up with an idea as awesome as the one you can see by clicking this link, but it shall be fun. Post here if you're interested in jumping in, I'll get role PM's and the crew out as soon as I have another spare moment. Special shout out's from the last game go to Falzis and KevinH. One consistently asked the right questions, and the other made very timely decisions - which resulted in a WIN for Humanity. Hope everyone had fun Game 1, and looking forward to Game 2.

Journey Back To The Battlestar - Game Over!
Falzis - Our Cylon Searching Cop - This man is a PRODIGY! He cylon checked Electric Mango and THEN ScoutX. Amazing. Aquinas - Regular Joe Human CanucksDynasty - Regular Joe Human KevinH - Our Faith Healing Human. A vote from him would result in a coin flip - heads got protection, tails did nothing. Night one came up heads, night two - tails. SinKon - Regular Joe Human Electric Mango - RoleBlocker Cylon Scum ScoutX - Cylon Goon

Journey Back To The Battlestar - Game Over!
With the ever eager CanucksDynasty leading the way, the voices of the crew call our ScoutX's name harrowingly. With a feeble prod towards Tobias Greene, ScoutX surveyed the remaining passengers with a depressed gaze, and heavily sat down on the Jenkin's vacant benches. It was obvious the people were baying for blood - his blood - and there was little else he could see himself doing to convince them otherwise. KevinH once again laid the hammer blow - second time in a row he has been the clinch vote - and Aquinas again sat on the fence, not accusing but not condemning either. ScoutX wearily noted the endless cycle of days and nights, and the similarities we cannot escape as life blurs together. Tobias, forever the good guy, wanders over and puts a hand on ScoutX's shoulder. "You don't have to wait for the end of the day, you know. We all voted, we're not going to change. You should just end it." ScoutX met his eyes, "But how?" Tobias passed him the one last tool from his trusty toolbox - his rusty sonic screwdriver, and nodded significantly. ScoutX took one last survey of the now silent crowd, and raised it to his eyes. He didn't yell out in pain as he burned his own eyes out, nor screamed when it dug through into his own brain. A few seconds later, when it was over, Tobias unceremoniously stuck his Cylon detector into the hole bored by the sonic's blue power. The machine stuttered and burped: "CYLON" ------ After the congratulatory back slapping and hugs, the crew settled down for their last night before the light jump back to the main ship. When they awoke, refreshed, noone had died - proof that they were now Cylon-free. And home free. THE HUMANS WIN! So ends this part of the saga. Thank you all for playing!

Journey Back To The Battlestar - Game Over!
There has been less than the other threads, I'm wondering if it's because either 1/ the shorter game span or 2/ I'm a terrible Mod 3/ crappy game setup. Thoughts?

Journey Back To The Battlestar - Game Over!
Well - so far we've done a few things on this thread you haven't expected, I'm going to add another one. Yeah, I'm adding my opinion. And for the haters - since it's pretty clear the hammer is going to fall on ScoutX (3 votes out of 5), and unlike the other threads there seems to be less speculation than more (and the accused seems pretty ho-hum about it) - I feel I may as well throw my thoughts in. If you don't want to read em, don't highlight the below. I've done it in friendly white font. -------------- Agreed, ScoutX's "joke" vote was for Aquinas ("He who smelt it, dealt it") but I personally don't see that as damning. He did, however, not change his vote to EM when everyone else was convinced by Falzis. But sure, that's one reason to make him a likely candidate, so lets say 1 strike for him. BUT... Aquinas jumped on the bandwagon against EM, when the deadline was rapidly approaching (7 hours away). The ONLY WAY to save EM at that point would have been to vote for himself, and therefore have himself lynched.... which would have made no sense to anybody. I definitely feel that gives him 1 strike also, possibly approaching 2 in my book. Tobias, like ScoutX, also voted for Aquinas - but EM voted for HIM, so unless that's amazing Cylon strategy I'd say sure, townie. I give him 0 strikes, as those two even out. CanucksDynasty was the first to vote for EM, so unless he played a Cylon strategy (and he's got everyone fooled) that most likely pegs him as Townie. Although, he just posted something along the lines of "if we mis-lynch I will be next" - is he preemptively trying to get a quitclaim in for later, so if there IS a mis-lynch he gets a "hey guys on that post back then, see, I'm a good guy as I feel I might be next." I give him 0 strikes, as those two even out. KevinH voted Falzis, and was then convinced on the hammer vote - had he not changed his mind, EM would not have been lynched - unless he played a Cylon strategy (and he's got everyone fooled) that most likely pegs him as Townie. I would say -1 strikes for him, as he more or less killed EM. So there you go. This lynch doesn't matter as much, as you have one free mis-lynch - it will be interesting to see who gets lynched on day 3 (unless the humans successfully kill off the Cylons today, of course).

Journey Back To The Battlestar - Game Over!
I'm still impressed that with so few posts by Cylon Mango, you all fingered him so quickly.
-
Journey Back To The Battlestar - Game Over!
As such, Aquinas was in line to get it, until KevinH changed his mind and it shifted to EM. KevinH was the nail in Cylon Mango's coffin.
-
Journey Back To The Battlestar - Game Over!
To clarify - until KevinH changed his vote, Aquinas was in line for the noose as he had two votes and the earliest vote (ScoutX's). When KevinH jumped on the Mango bandwagon, the lynch switched to Mango, and then Aquinas jumped too (he was the last to vote). I don't know if that's more or less what you said, but there was never a "no-lynch for D1" scenario.

Journey Back To The Battlestar - Game Over!
Ever been in space? No? Well, then I'll bet you've never EATEN ICE CREAM IN SPACE! Ha! Know what it does? No? Welllll..... A scientific mystery for decades, many believe it can be akin to giving chocolate to a dog - but basically, in layman's terms, after eating ice cream IN SPACE, 99% of test subjects fall into a homicidal manic rage followed by an intense desire to take a nap. And this, dear readers, is what happened. And had Mango read THAT piece of the Human Instruction Manual, he might have been a little more wary and (perhaps) alive today. Still caked with the blood of Cylon Mango (as he shall henceforth be known), our merry party dropped their swizzle sticks on the ground and engaged in a snoozin' group hug. But, as you may have figured out, Angry Ice Cream Coma is a human condition - and not a cylon one. While those around him slept, one reached over and violently twisted the neck of a man who was causing a lot of trouble - maybe a little TOO much trouble. Yes, the humans opened their eyes to find our dear friend Falzis slain, his eyes popping out of his skull in an expression of surprise. Maybe at the last minute his eyes had opened, and focused on the killer. Was he surprised at who it was? I like to think so. A muttering arose among the remaining, some muttering in disgust at all the blood and filth now littering this once-clean ship - don't forget Sinkon's head is still sitting in the corner. Others are muttering at this new development (and the proof a cylon is still aboard), and at least one man is muttering in utter confusion. Day 2 commences! January 13th was Day 1 open, and January 17th was the midnight close. Similarly, as today is the 18th, January 22 MIDNIGHT is the deadline for the lynch vote. The spreadsheet has been cleared for this next usage. Choose wisely. You have lost not only a good man, but a HU man (get it?).

Journey Back To The Battlestar - Game Over!
As the Leeroy Jenkins slowly navigates the black darkness of space, it's crew have decided to think the unthinkable, plot the unplottable, and perform the unperformable. Yes, they have decided to crack open the last box of ice cream. While sitting there, munching on their iced chocky bars, they ponder the meaning of existence (like you do) and of course what it means that there must be a traitor in their midst. While Falzis does most the talking, Electric Mango stares off into space - which is easy to do in this situation. Hell, look out any window and people can say "so-and-so is staring into space." Anyway. Was there a personal grudge against Sinkon, or was he just in the wrong place at the wrong time? Ideas fly, conversation builds, and why is Electric Mango so damn quiet? If only they knew. The story of Sinkon's and Electric Mango's love is a difficult story to tell, being one set in a time when humanity is so depleted that people no longer believe men should be together. No, using such language as 'the greater good' they want all the boys to find a nice girl and settle down, do the Mormon thing and have like 36 kids.... or die trying. And while this is a concept that a lot of men wouldn't mind trying (the f'ing yourself to death bit) - some people just wanted to be with their dream mate, even if that means they have to break a few rules. But some rules cannot be broken - such as orders from Cylon Command. But we'll get to that later. Back in our story, the icey deliciousness has now been finished, and Falzis has managed to sway the attention to Electric - even managing to have one of the crew change his mind. Mango, lost in his musings, doesn't see Falzis approach - nor hears the cheers of the crew. This is no longer a group of individuals, somehow this has become an angry mob lusting for some kind of retribution, which Mango somehow also misses. When the wooden swizzle stick (which previously held Falzis' chocky bar together) pierces Electric Mango's neck, the man can barely jump in surprise before five more plunge repeatedly into his body. In the order of things, death by swizzle is a pretty terrible way to go, and this occurrence is no exception. Slowly the jerks of pain diminish to nothing, and Tobias (chief rocket scientist on the Battlestar) announces he wants to try his new device. Conveniently, it only works on dead tissue, but he believes it will be able to identify cylon from human. Falzis nods, and Tobias whips out a meat thermometer, sticking the pin in Electric's glazed over eye. "Pork or chicken?" He asks, laughing when everyone gives him a dull stare. "Just kidding. It takes a second to calibrate." A few moments later the device beeps, and he passes the tool around. The display is clear for everyone to read - 'CYLON.' They had killed scum! IT IS NOW NIGHT. PLEASE REFRAIN FROM POSTING IN THIS THREAD UNTIL DAYBREAK.
