It could have being a vigilante and a scum group, we don't know how many scum groups there are either. We don't know if a SK can bypass being jailed once, well maybe we do but I don't know. Either way I don't think it clears you of being an SK if there is an SK. Well if it was a vigilante who killed, then they killed on night 1 on killgor or EM. It's certainly possible, but seems unlikely to me. As for the number of scum groups, that should be relatively easy to know if you have a familiarity with the tv show.
