  1. Woah there cowboy
  2. So you think VGM is scum so you are voting? Or are you voting just to be on the wagon? I have seen no post from you that says you are suspicios of VGM. So why are you voting for her? You have agreed to some of mine and Zacchs posts but also agreed with some of VGMs. I am unclear what your actual stance is. Do you think VGM is the scum or no? Anyway, with LS also finally posting we now have no townies coming forward to take credit for the shot at iSoc, so I think we can be sure that scum shot iSoc. Seeing the day hammered I wanted to make sure to put my “catch-up” thoughts out. Given more time, yes I believe vgm is scum. My statements of the opposite was simply acknowledging that there were alternate angles to consider while reading through
  3. I'm glad to see you agree with me there. Many Americans think it's some sort of balance... There is nothing balanced about our current government lol
  4. Just as a preamble since I'm basically making up for days of conversations I'm pretty much taking the entire day in chunks and going from there. In other words, there may be quite a bit of inconsistent flow as I quote different messages and put my thoughts below them... WITH THAT IN MIND: What makes you think Isoc was killed by a townie? Math There doesn't seem like there was much to go on here to begin with. I can't presume to know vgm's reasoning, but assuming it was math then yes probability would state that since there are 4 town and 2 scum remaining the odds would favor a townie having shot. However since this isn't random probability math doesn't exactly apply in the same sense. Zaach put this and I tend to agree. Given that there is nothing to go on except our votes and our posts it would be very unwise for a townie to have wasted their shot on N1 on the grounds of anything posted during D1. vgm put this in response to Imran asking if they used their shot on iSoc. My only question would be since vgm was the only one to have thrown iSoc's name out there on D1 who else would have used the shot? A good point here to consider in vgm's defense could be that scum used a shot N1 to kill iSoc with the knowledge it would cast eyes towards vgm. Or, as Imran noted, it could be a ploy by vgm to try and seem more innocent. Either way that would mean that scum killed iSoc last night, whether that be vgm or someone scum hoping to frame them. My lack of posting/activity at the time was absolutely a fair point. Definitely not fair to y'all that the events of the past week threw it into the game mix. I will be happily making up for that with my involvement here forward. vgm making my prior point right here about framing. With nothing to go on but words and votes it comes down to what each individual townie personally believes. I personally have only played a handful of games (like 4 or 5?), not nearly the amount as most here. Enough to say I'm very unfamiliar with any of the "ins and outs." That being said though it seemed pretty apparent that using a shooting action on the first night would more likely than not lead to a bad result. I would argue it's much more likely a newer, inexperienced player would be more apt to have used their commute N1 in hopes to guarantee themselves another day. CoD mentioned math for the reasoning why a townie shot iSoc, but I'm going to use that math instead for why an "itchy finger" would be a horrible decision. Let's say NE or myself are new players who decided for some reason we would go all vigilante with zero knowledge and nothing but D1 posting. At that point we'd be all but picking a name out of a hat, and given the setup would have a 1/3 chance of hitting correctly. In what world is a 33% chance of hitting scum (that could have also used their commutes to guarantee their own survival on a potentially gruesome first night) a good idea? Best case scenario the town gets super lucky. Worst case, a dead townie and a town bullet wasted. This rings either one of two things. If scum used their shot for iSoc, there's no reason for them to claim it because of the inevitable heat it would bring having to justify their actions. On the other hand, trying to draw out a townie to claim their shot has been used is basically inviting scum to keep them alive as a "lame duck." No need for scum to waste a shot on someone that's half a threat. Zaach trying to push for a townie to claim the shot makes this post kind of suspicious to me. Thank you vgm for making the point I just typed lol There's probably a multitude of strategies that could be at play here. Given that night actions will provide little clarity beyond dead bodies there's no need for rushing on either side. Scum could choose to stir the pot by killing N1 just as easily as they could sit back and let us pick ourselves apart. That being said, we only were allowed to table the subject on the first day. From here forward we have to make a decision each time. Given that we can't indefinitely no-lynch, it may have been in scum's best interest to knock off a townie first night and hope to get a mislynch on D2. A thought I haven't seen fully considered yet (I may get to it on page 4) is that there is a possibility both scum shots were used last night, and the second target commuted. Imran perfectly sums up my opinion on why scum shot iSoc here. Whether that was scum setting up a frame of vgm or vgm themselves is the question.
  5. To bunch me in with "only Trump or bust" is all but openly stating my point about most people is correct. With no reason or consideration the simple fact I don't side with you has made you automatically decide that I am your vision of a Republican. There are more than just MAGA-aligned Republicans in this world. I align with Republicans solely on the principle that less government is better. Rampant bureaucracy has led to nothing but the problems we face today. At some point it should be clear more government involvement is far from the solution. Is absence or less better? Perhaps, perhaps not. I'm not claiming to be some all-knowing being like most politicians today. In my world, there is a difference between "supporting" and "tolerating." I tolerate the modern Republican party because their policy best aligns with my status in life. However, I will not say that I wholeheartedly support it. There are many things that I don't agree with the party line on, but the likelihood of a candidate aligning with my thoughts are astronomically low in the current US political system. Neither party would actually allow a candidate that supports collaboration to win their nomination... It would implode their precious establishment.
  6. Unacceptable result. Time to change it
  7. VI With CC in our corner success is ours!
  8. I have returned as of a few hours ago as Kevin noted above. Got unpacked and between work I will read through today's events to get myself caught up
  9. I don't know anyone under 40 that gives a shit about anything that matters. They're all staring at their phones doing whatever the current idiot tells them to do. I take personal offense to this Lys!!! Every Republican, including myself, will welcome RFK onto the ballot with open arms. No intention to vote for him, but every intention to see the Kennedy name snatch 20% of the Democrat vote from whatever brainless bag of guts the DNC can sucker into running for them. It's growing more and more likely that it will not be Joe Biden. Kennedy must have some information that the DNC will not support his nomination if Biden drops out, and they will attempt to parachute the ex-husband of the wife of Donald Trump Jr... Gavin Newsom. Kimberly Guilfoyle knows everything there is to know about Gavin Newsom... Trump won't be able to stop himself. Hysterical. Now RFK will run just to make sure they don't win. Joe Manchin is also threatening to run as "No Labels Party" to take even more from them. It's interesting to watch, but I still see bad times ahead no matter who wins. The fate of the Roman Empire... history repeats. The Kennedy family is by and far more popular to the left side. Republicans only are welcoming the news for the exact reason stated above; he's a third-party that will primarily steal votes that would otherwise be for the Democratic candidate. Whether that's 5% or 50% is irrelevant because votes are votes. In swing states even a 2- or 3-percent margin will easily give the state to the Republican nominee, and those battlegrounds are where the election is won. It is true though, we're basically screwed both ways at the going rate. Most people have been conditioned by their respective sides to be completely intolerant of anything that isn't their beliefs, and in a country that's supposed to allow free expression of those beliefs that is leading to just more and more unnecessary hatred.
  10. Only on the first day. This is an interesting setup, don't think I've played anything like it before. Definitely an odd setup. Barring some very strange sequence of events that leads to a suspect, I'll be voting no lynch for day 1, but no sense trying to end the day too early. Feels like a Brewers setup to be honest. Vote Brewers How could I pass up an opportunity for this wagon? Vote: Brewers
  11. Been a while since I've went to bat at one of these games. Already looks like a really interesting setup! **OOC Note: I have a family wedding on Saturday that will leave me MIA from Friday through the weekend. So don't think I just up and disappeared
  12. I win. We can close the thread finally!
  13. Temporarily
  14. So, you admit, you are not anyone?! No matter, I win I may or may not just be an AI, my function is win. Function completed.
  15. True, only me here
  16. Did someone say Sunday?
  17. Been keeping busy but glad to have found my way back to CN and IRON! Making America great has always been my "doctrine". It's going to take more than a president to do that. Absolutely, it would take an entire overhaul of our government. However the POTUS is a huge starting point, as the main role of the position is to be the figurehead and overall spokesperson of the federal government. But it is very fair to say you are right, even with a perfect POTUS who fights tooth and nail for the citizens and not their checkbooks there's very little that can be accomplished without getting new blood that feels the same into Congress. Both sides have an issue with that. Where I derive my beliefs is looking at the future of both parties. Younger Democrats want to fashion themselves as extreme progressives that push for policies that basically lead to Socialism. That is bad. Younger Republicans tend to feel that we've gone too far and have let the government balloon into a monstrosity. When you cut away a lot of the social issues and all the crap that media wants people to focus on, the true intent of most people I speak to in this group simply want the government to stop trying to shove its nose into everything. Government is meant to run the country, not tell us what and how to think. That's where Republicans have an issue and Democrats continue to go all-in.
  18. Oh Lys how I've missed our chats! Summary of my feelings: DeSantis is the best choice without shadow of a doubt from Republican standpoint, but all major media will stop at nothing to convince the unthinking public that he "has no campaign," "has no momentum," or "is doing nothing and saying nothing." Biden is a free ticket for establishment politicians to continue growing and maintaining the ever-toxic status quo that is Washington DC, and Trump is the only person Biden can run against and manage to still win. Which is why for as much as that same media says that he's horrible and terrible, he's the only candidate that they continue to give unlimited free coverage to. Unfortunately each election cycle is producing less and less hope for a cooperative resolution to the ever-expanding social policy debates that we're faced with. At this point all we're missing is one lawmaker caning another and we'll be right back in the mid-1800s.
  19. Thank you for the kind introduction. It is always appreciated!
  20. Now now, we know how this goes. You post thinking you won, I come along to actually win
  21. Fine, I win again.
