There are conflicting media reports about it. Some newspaper articles said there were multiple shooters; others said it was just the one guy and the two others were just accomplices. There was a fourth person arrested initially but he has been released as he was using a weapon in self-defence.

Everyone over here is in shock. (Yes, I'm a New Zealander.) A mass shooting has never occurred in NZ in my lifetime; it's a peaceful little backwater most of the time. We've never had a terrorist attack to my knowledge. One of the shooters is an Australian citizen not ordinarily resident in NZ who explicitly stated in his manifesto that he came over here because our race relations are generally so good, so that he could stir up division between white people and Muslims.

Well there's a stroke of luck. As far as I’m concerned, that should clear me, TW and Jazzy. If we were mafia, we didn’t have to lynch one of our own. Plus, SM said she thought they were “probably town” (which probably means she checked them as cop, especially as she didn't spend one of her reads on LordSunday, whom she said she chose randomly.) That leaves Velocity and Wolfpacks.

Vote: LordSunday. We may as well lynch SOMEONE for more info and stuff to analyse. To be honest, I should really withdraw from this game as I am not dedicating enough time to it.... but whatever, it's a pretty inactive game, I'm far from the only one not posting much.

I agree as well that it is highly likely that at least one scum ended up voting for Rafay. At this point I think it would more likely be SM, Robert, or Kverst. Of those three I think SM is the least likely though since there was less of a guarantee at that point that Rafay would be lynched and if not for her vote that is exactly the position I would have voted for Rafay. I'm less inclined to believe that SBG is scum (the only other person voting yesterday off of the Rafay wagon). It's more likely that the third scum did not vote yesterday since it would be easier to hide in that grouping than to have to try to explain their vote on a random person. Of those not voting: Lachiton was basically MIA and ended up getting replaced so it would just be shitty luck for us if he's the other scum (Brewers now).Rafay went MIA when I pushed him for an explanation which he obviously couldn't give since he was indeed scum.Wolfpacks commented approximately 12 hours before the end of the day that he was away and would try to catch up and post more, which has not happened yet (4 days later).. Is there any particular reason that you opted not to vote for Rafay by the end of the day when he didn't even make an attempt to defend his terrible arguments? If you're going to vote for Brewers (Lachiton) again, please at least do it based off of something in this game rather than the outside game stuff.. I wasn't 100% sure he was scum, and haven't been hugely active in this game, so simply neglected to vote before the end of the day. I'm definitely going to place a vote on *someone* before the end of this one. With no cop we need to start lynching people so we have something to go off.

Oh crap. Well, if we were planning on waiting for info from the cop, we don't have that option open now so we'd better start lynching people so we have something to go off and analyse. I find it difficult to believe that there were no scum amongst the people who didn't vote, and given that we took out Rafay, that just leaves Lach, WP, LS and myself. I know that I'm not scum, so I suggest one of the other three.

When i look for activity, i check the "posts" tab on everyones profile since it is easier to find it that way for me. According to your profile, you didn't post on February 1st Ah. Possibly a timezone thing.

I take great umbrage at the fact that I'm on the mod kill list. I was WRONGLY accused by the mod of having not posted since 31 January, when in fact my last post was on 1 February. For the record, I'm reading this thread daily, and will contribute when I actually have stuff to say. Regrettably we're on day 2 and there isn't much to go on. Once things start heating up in a day or two I'll doubtless be more talkative. Fwiw given that we have so little to go on I think there are worse ideas than lynching Rafay. Let's see what turns up.

It may be true for D1 but it's generally good practice not to end the day early if you're town. It is also applicable if we are certain we have got scum for sure but still shouldn't rush votes. So last 2 votes are always crucial and town has to be careful. Question to you, if instead of no lynch brewers got lynched, who we now know was town, and the day ended early, would your feelings in this matter change? Sure. But the voting wasn't going that way.
