Somewhat Classic Mafia(Game thread)

The town of NotQuiteClassicville was a bit out of the ordinary...well to those that didn't live there. People slept during the day rather then the night, walked backwards(although some walked backwards backwards), and had developed a strange language that even they couldn't understand(and thus never used). Most people attributed these strange behaviors to how the town was founded. It was once the location of a "cracker jack box". Apparently a bunch of the "cracker jacks" escaped into the nearby forest and in their not insanity founded the odd town. Hundreds of years later they lived alone and peacefully...or rather their descendents do.

Although the town was so odd, it was very nice. Crime was next to nothing, and the only recorded violent crime was an assault and battery charge against a visitor in the town. And that was 10 years ago. They lived moderately prosperous lives(although me and you would consider them dirt poor) and tended to shun new things(hence why gas lamps were common rather then electricity).

But this was all about to change. Something truly dreadful was about to happen. Someone somewhere was going to snap...and when they do who knows what's to become of the place?

And that something...happens tonight...well today.

As the sun dawned over the edge of horizon, the citizens of NotQuiteClassicville prepared for bed. Children read their parents stories and kissed them good night. The workaholics packed up whatever it was they were working on and walked backwards home through the emptying roads. A few people, brave or crazy(would being a crazy crazy make you more insane or less?), stayed up well past dawn, working or just playing around.

One such person staying up late finally got tired of sorting through her flowers(she owned a booming flower shop) and the bills(which really were random pieces of paper with no meaning but for some reason the townsfolk remembered something about bills so they pretended those papers were bills but had no idea what to do with them...but I digress) was headed home minding her own business when she felt some serious pain and all went black.

As the sun went down that evening and the citizens awoke, they found a gruesome seen. The flower lady had been murdered! Wait what was murder again? It had something to do with her and blood...oh right death! Oh wait she's dead!!!!!

The Flower Lady, an innocent, yet insane, businesswoman was beaten to death

Rules and roles will be coming shortly...need to make sure they're all written up right first!

Also as a reminder: no talking until Night 1 begins!

PS: if you are confused about the Day and Night thing...Day is Night and Night is Day.

1. CanucksDynasty, the Master, and a simple townie, murdered execution style Day 1.

2. Bastille Hades, the Unorthodox and Strange, and the town's resident Doctor, was hung up to die Night 3.

3. KevinH, the Peaceful Killer

4. Falzis, the Apprentice, and a simple townie, hung Night 1

5. junkahoolik, the Silent Investigator

6. Kaziocore, the Little Japanese Girl

7. AKCPluto, the Punny Guy

8. Theophilos, the Greek Hero

9. Windblade, the Newbie Ninja, and a simple townie, hung Night 2

10. Nerau, the Guy Without a Cool Title

11. Aquinas, the Saviour, and a skilled Tracker, shot then beaten Day 2

12. The Unknown ScoutX

Hey sorry about that absence. i forgot to post that i was going to be away and when i remembered it was too late...

anyway...

I think we should get a call from Mod ASAP if Unknown is a character, if someone is controlling him/her, and if yes can we vote for that person. I think it unfair that there be a slot that MIGHT be filled, but we don't know - it screws with the game mechanics.

Mod: Please answer my question - is "unknown" playing? If yes, we can vote for that person, if not let us know so we can focus on the real threat.

Feel free to lynch me, I said when I went after Falzis if I was wrong I would take one for the team. I promise I'm not trying to 'draw' suspicion, and if this UNKNOWN person is not playing, or a non-character, I will switch my vote back to Windblade. Deal?

yes the unknown is playing to an extent...he is a player but no one is playing him yet. consider it an abandoned role...(and yes i'll get taht replacement in asap...)

i think the unknown is a simple townie. doubt narsis would have started the game with a important piece like a town power role or a scum missing from the agenda of occupied characters. and i do remember that narsis was searching for someone to play him. which reminds me...

Narsis: couldn't CD or Falzis fill in??

anyway, imo, voting for the unknown is a waist of a vote.

i would prefer that someone already playing doesn't fill in the role...especially since i had an offer from someone else already.

anyway...let me go eat supper and then i'll catch up with everything.

seeing Narsis's response, i'll reiterate my disbelief that the unknown is mafia for the reasons i stated before. but... that's just my opinion :P

Blah, I think you're right. Although I ALSO think this whole Unknown concept is lame, as either he/she IS scum and everyone (me especially) will cry 'unfair' at game end is this is revealed to be so. If the Unknown is a mere townie, we're more or less going to leave that person alone for the rest of the game as they were never really 'playing' when Day 1 occurred.

Anyway, Unvote

yes the unknown is playing to an extent...he is a player but no one is playing him yet. consider it an abandoned role...

I trust that roles were assigned randomly so it is quite possible that the unknown indeed is scum. It's the ultimate lurker!

Hmm...Hades, tell you what, next round, I'm voting unknown :P

Kazio I R not the only one that didn't vote ... yet :P

Honestly the only person I'd vote for atm, having nothing else to go on, except that slight FOS of Windblade, would have to be the Unkown. If he's scum than we get one of them, if he's not ... we loose a player that made no contribution and probably won't either. So it's a win-win scenarion in the present circumstances.

Hi Hades,

Well, again, I am more confident that Windblade is scum than unknown. But its like 60-40...Unknown is a close second.

So, yes, for now, I am still voting for Windblade, but I'm 95% sure that I would vote for unknown next round unless mafia kills me.

Signed,

Pluto (Isaac)

Blah, I say lets burn Windblade then. If he's innocent, it implicates those who voted for him (including me) but that's life I guess.

Vote: Windblade

you know hades, i'd never vote on someone i don't think is townie. i hope you're not doing the same. of course, i can be wrong, however, right now, i don't see any other alternative.

Trying to follow your double negative there - you WOULD NOT vote on someone you DO NOT think is a townie, so you would never vote on scum?

I myself reserve the right to vote on random people to see how they (and others) react, as part of the information game. However, I would never let that vote go to a lynching point unless I felt there was a good chance they WERE scum, as in this case. Windblade has no concrete case against himself, but he has more pointing to him than anyone else. Hence, the vote stands.

Hades, that's exactly why I'm voting Wind over Unknown at the moment. You said it best - Windblade has no concrete case against himself, but he has more pointing to him than anyone else. Hence, the vote stands. Agreed 100%.

wait what?? :P guess i should stop trying to speak english sometimes :P my bad... "i'd never vote for someone i think isn't scum". there you go :P

I've already made my case and I've nothing to add. All points I made you can read in my last post. And for all people saying that I don't have enough evidence to make clear I'm not scum guess what, you don't have that here. There is no such thing as an alibi in this game. It is only my word against others and that is quite hard to accomplish since I'm heavily outnumbered. I can only point at someone else and tell to lynch him instead.

Lynch me and lets be over with. Then I'll take a sip of my drink and laugh as the mafia takes over this town.

Unofficial vote count:

Windblade - 5 (AKCPluto, junkahoolik, KevinH, Bastille Hades, Kaziocore)

Theophilos - 1 (Aquinas)

UNKNOWN - 1 (Windblade)

Not voting - 2 (Theophilos, Nerau)

By my count, Windblade is lynched with 5 votes.

8. After someone has been lynched, feel free to continue talking until the death scene is posted.

In case I get night-killed, here are my thoughts.

Based on my previous suspicions of BastilleHades, AKCPluto, and Theophilos for the day 1 lynch:

If Windblade is scum, then FOS: Theophilos

If Windblade is townie, then FOS: BastilleHades and AKCPluto
