Ok, interesting situation, two doc claims. So either Kasabian or Chaoshawk is scum. Now, on the one hand, you would say it makes sense to lynch Kasabian and trust Chaoshawk. Simply because there was no obvious reason for Chaoshawk to claim at that point. He would just get himself killed if Kasabian is the doc. However, claiming doc for Kasabian was equally foolish if he is not the doc. As I explained before, there simply had to be a doc. So he knew that sooner or later he would be found out. Of course, Kasabian was cornered, so in that regard you could say that he had no choice. The interesting thing, however, is that the same more or less holds true for Chaoshawk. With Kasabian and mole being cleared by Kasabian's roleclaim, all combinations that we had left featured Chaoshawk as scum. So he would have inevitably been lynched today or tomorrow. Perhaps he saw this coming and decided to at least make the town take out our doc in the process.

There is something interesting in the post where Chaoshawk claims doc:

Well played Kasabian but your squad does not specialize in medicine but mine does. It was a good way to pull attention off yourself and push a lynch towards myself and the dismemberment of my squad. The post counts per thread are not exact as in the way the moderator will count all of them worthy of being relevant to the posts so they will vary with accuracy and not be precise. I know for certain now Kasabian is mafia.

Why is that bolded phrase in there? Sure I absolutely agree, one of the things I found a little suspicious on the last few pages was people using exact post counts to prove which combination of scum was possible. As was discussed before, we could very well be off by one or two posts. What it should have been used for, was to determine if any of the top posters was scum. With a clear battlefield advantage to the town, it is fairly obvious that at most one of the top 3 posters was scum. That is something we can use, using exact combinations seems a little premature at this point

However, that is not why I wanted to draw your attention to that line. If he really was concerned about this, he could have expressed so before. However, he waited until his roleclaim to do so. Obviously, he felt he needed some credibility before trying to convince the townies that these exact combinations are not the way to go. Now the question is, if he is the doc, would he really be worried about that at that point? If Chaoshawk is the doc, Kasabian is scum and, at least on the surface, it looks likely that mole is too. So if the next two lynches are set, what do the exact combinations matter? It looks like he knows he will get caught in a lie and wants us to change our mind about these combinations, so as to give his scum buddies a chance.

So does this mean that I want to lynch Chaoshawk? No, not necessarily, however, I would also prefer to keep Kasabian alive at this point. In fact, I am going to suggest two things that I would both find scummy in almost any other circumstance. I am going to ask for a cop claim and propose another no lynch. I'll start with the cop claim, we have one person who has dropped a ton of hints by now and while he seems hesitant to come out and flat out claim, I'm sure the scum has caught on by now. If he is not scum himself that is. So for him to come out and claim wouldn't really change much. However, if he is scum, then most likely we have someone else who is the real cop.

Now normally, I wouldn't like to draw out the cop, but in this scenario I think it would work. The first, and most important, reason is that it would directly lead us to two scum. Sure, we would not know which one is scum. But the scum would be forced to kill the doc and the next night the cop or otherwise face an increasing pool of cleared townies. So the scum will have to make the first move, after which we can get rid of the two scum that have been exposed. This is also why I am suggesting the no lynch. If we chose wrong and lynch our doc, the cop dies tonight. If we no lynch, we force the scum to reveal their hand and at the same time we allow the cop to get one final investigation off. One final investigation in addition to netting us two scum I might add.

Of course, the one who has been hinting at cop could really be the cop, but in that case he has already been more or less exposed. In that case the gameplan doesn't change. We force the scum to take out the real doc and we lynch the fake claim the next day. In this case it only nets us one scum and one investigation, but it beats the alternative of risking the lynch of our doc and losing the cop without an additional investigation. The fact that we are still with an even number of players makes the no lynch work out even better, since we won't lose a day.

I think we should go for the most active suspect, just to ensure we gain as much ground as possible.

This is a foolish move.

What if Mole turns out to be townie?

Will get tomorrow...

5-3

And now it's a 50-50 between Kasabian and CH.

You should first lynch either Kasabian and CH.

I'm afraid that may not work...

I think when both doc and cop are found in a game,

the mafia will always have a roleblocker.

Any experienced mafia players out there can verify this?

I forgot to add. The cop should wait at least a little with claiming until more people have posted their support. On top of this, I would like the one who has been hinting to confirm before someone else claims. I don't want any backtracking after possibly the real cop comes out.

Also, unvote

um with my experience i would say that the case is very likely that where there is a cop/doc there is also roleblocker

I believe it has to do with balancing the game out

Martino...this is about the most absurd thing I heard.

Everything seems to point at Kasa being mafia...why on earth do you want to pass that up?

And to top that off ...you want the cop to roleclaim and want a no lynch.

As for CH "bolded" words...

I take it to mean that while he's confident that Kasa and mole are mafia...the third member may not be Alasdiar (as indicated by KevinH)...that it could be someone else.

Well, I hadn't really considered a roleblocker. So if the cop is someone else as the one who has been hinting cop, perhaps it would be better for the cop to lay low, though it is far from certain that we have a roleblocker imo. I certainly wouldn't say the majority of mafia's have a roleblocker. Flavor wise I'm also having some trouble coming up with a roleblocking platoon, though that obviously will not have affected the mods decision.

Anyway, there may be a roleblocker, but there may not be. If we let both docs live, we'll find out tomorrow whether or not there was one. In any case, gambling on which doc speaks the truth seems unnecessary at this point. If they have a roleblocker and block the doc instead of killing him, we will go to an odd number of players and we will get to chose between the two docs tomorrow, with more battlefield information and without losing a lynch. If we gamble wrong today, we may unnecessarily lose the cop one day early. Especially if it turns out there was no roleblocker. I'm not seeing the advantage to taking a guess ourselves, when there is a good chance we can force the mafia to move first and reveal who was speaking the truth.

Well I prefer choosing between the two since

we will absolutely get the scum.

So my vote will return.

Yes, the most likely scenario has Kasa as mafia and mole as a likely scumbuddy. However, let's for a moment assume that is indeed the case. What would we lose by forcing the scum to NK CH before we lynch Kasa? We would lose very little, only the ability to go no lynch without losing a day further on in the game. However, if instead CH is the scum, we would be lynching our doc and leaving our cop open to be NK'ed tonight. That seems like some serious downside to me.

I do admit that it is perhaps not the best strategy to get the cop to roleclaim, especially considering the possibility of a roleblocker. That suggestion was mainly born from the desire to prevent us from lynching our cop and also to avoid a Lylo situation where we suddenly have someone counter claiming cop.

In any case, I don't think the scenario is as black and white as you make it out to be. Yes, it seems foolish for CH to falsely claim doc at that point. However, it seems almost equally foolish of him to rightfully claim doc. Had he been killed at some point in the game, we would have known that Kasa was scum. Had we at any point in the game come close to lynching him or the person he protected on D1, he could have claimed and we would have been able to lynch Kasa. However, at this point that claim was unnecessary and thus exposed a pro town role without too much in return.

Anyway, it's just a combination of a lot of small things that make me unconvinced that Kasa is definitely scum. For example, his claimed target makes perfect sense. It was the target I would have protected. So I would be a little surprised to learn that Kasa did understand that he was the perfect target, but did not go ahead and night kill him. Unless of course they are scum together, but I think that is the scenario that should concern us the least. In that case we have already identified two scum and are well on our way to winning this game, no matter how we play it.

The "Mod Catchup" VC

Kasabian (4) - ChaosHawk, CanucksDynasty, molestargazer, Kaziocore

molestargazer (2) - KevinH, ccabal86

No Lynch (2) - Kasabian, Martino

Not voting (2) - Nerau, Alasdair

In my experience it's usually a mafia stalker, the counterpart of the cop on the mafia side. I haven't played mafia much on these boards to gauge the roles here used.

No matter who is right, in an objective standpoint, me and Kasabian are most likely going to be dead before the next day. I claimed simply because people were pulling their votes away from kasa after he falsely claimed doc and if I did not counterclaim I would look rather suspicious and questioned why I have not counterclaimed. In this scenario we have at least a vague image of who is mafia whether me or Kasabian is mafia.

The cop should not out themselves at this point and only if it's dire enough to call for it.

CanucksDynasty is correct in interpreting what I said. I refer to the other low posters such as Martino and Nerau who could possibly be mafia instead of Alasdair. I still see the listed possible groups as good models if not entirely accurate in the case of discounted votes.

How the hell are we going to lynch the cop when no one is near that point? The only other person to garner 4 votes was molestargazer and he didn't roleclaim on D1. Kasa got 4 votes and faked roleclaim to save his skin. The cop can roleclaim provided he shares more info that isn't already known. If he investigated KevinH or me...there's no point in roleclaiming cuz everyone knows that we are townies cuz of the battlefield results.

Without too much in return? We get to lynch scum. What more do you want? He did his job and protected KevinH. What are the chances that he'll get lucky twice?

I have no idea what you mean in that bolded sentence.

You're defending Kasa so much has left me wondering if you are scum too.

I like the Molestargazer/Chaoshawk pair. One is scum, the other is not.

Well played Kasabian but your squad does not specialize in medicine but mine does.

Chaoshawk claims to be doc which may or may not be true.

Since Kasa is mafia...mole should be mafia.

Kasabian claims to be doc which may or may not be true.

It seems to me that we should lynch mole first.

Molestargazer

Killed and townie -> Chaoshawk is scum

I don't think a no-lynch is necessary. I think we can be certain of getting one scum in the next two lynches.

I still feel that making it to Day 4 is a priority.

However

Day 1 (7-3) no-lynch

Night 1 (7-3) failed night-kill

Day 2 (7-3) lynch based on current analysis -- worst case, we lynch a townie

Night 2 (6-3) townie night-killed

Day 3 (5-3) lynch based on more analysis -- virtually assured of lynching 1 scum

Night 3 (5-2) townie night-killed

Day 4 (4-2) lynch or lose but now there are three battlefield shifts to use

On one hand, a no-lynch and a successful doc would be the best of all possible worlds (more information will all townies alive). On the other hand, the sooner we get a scum, the better.

If we don't lynch either of the claimed docs, the real one will certainly be alive. I propose we either lynch mole or no-lynch; lynching Kasabian is not optimal play.

I disagree with you since I truly think Kasabian is mafia.

He guessed wrong on the hint I saw (mafia or townie guessing wrong) but Chaoshawk was able to vaguely prove the townie winning % on the battlefield.

That is proof enough for me that he is indeed townie (unless he's mafia that correctly guessed it).

I reply to that post with two quotes from mole.

(For the record, I haven't seen it.)

- If it's something to do with the Role PM, it's invalid - scum will probably have been given a copy of the Townie Role PM.

I am not sure about the hint, even though I supposedly left it.

However, if you have good feelings about Chaoshawk, why not vote for mole?

However, if you have good feelings about Chaoshawk, why not vote for mole?

Cuz I'd rather get scum.

Assuming 7 townies and 3 mafia.

1. Worst case lynching roleclaimed doc scenario...

7T - 3M

D1 - no lynch

N1 - no nightkill

7T - 3M

D2 - mislynch (doc)

N2 - nightkill (CD)

5T -3M

D3 - lynch mafia

N3 - nightkill (KevinH)

4T - 2M

D4 - we can go no-lynch here or LYLO

That gives 2 nights for the cop find scum/townies.

2. Worst case no-lynching scenario...

7T - 3M

D1 - no lynch

N1 - no nightkill

7T - 3M

D2 - no lynch

N2 - nightkill (CD)

6T -3M

D3 - mis-lynch (doc or townie)

N3 - nightkill (KevinH or doc)

4T - 3M

D4 - LYLO

That gives 2 nights for the cop find scum/townies.

3. Worst case mis-lynching townie scenario...

7T - 3M

D1 - no lynch

N1 - no nightkill

7T - 3M

D2 - mis-lynch townie (mole)

5T -3M

D3 - mis-lynch (doc)

N3 - nightkill (KevinH)

GAME OVER

That gives 1 nights for the cop find scum/townies.

Let's not forget that mafia have a % to win on the battlefield as well.

Who says that mafia will nk CH? Perhaps they target KevinH or me (CD) and succeed? We are then left again wondering who is the real doc. We only have 1 mis-lynch to give. That is the serious downside of not lynching scum in the next day or two.

Indeed ,Why would mafia nk one of their own?...

When did i fake anything? sure i claimed after mole request it, but i was before that leaving hints that i was the doc or didn't you read my post? two consecutive post saying Wow, it doesn't even a thank you note, direct it to kevinh the person that was saved

If he was scum...he would have known that he targetted KevinH. So why not use that as the excuse???

I have no idea what you mean in that bolded sentence.

You're defending Kasa so much has left me wondering if you are scum too.

Ok now you'r just been paranoid, i would suggest ppl to not say anything that would imply saving me because CD will see you as mafia and i don't want that you guys get killed, from now on "go with the strategies he suggest", CD,my friend, for more experience you may have, you're wrong.

What Martino is doing is proposing a strategy that is all, an strategy that could help us win the game, if we play as a team CD, we could win this game easily, think about it.

Well played Kasabian but your squad does not specialize in medicine but mine does. It was a good way to pull attention off yourself and push a lynch towards myself and the dismemberment of my squad. Sure, im am doctor who is part of the best groups of medics there is in a battlefield, and what medicine do i practice? Yea, i shall probably be a veterinarian then.

Im the doctor and you know it, you just had to do something to save you from the chopping block.

@CanucksDynasty I agree it's possible I'll misread them and protect the target mafia won't kill tonight or they might role block me and kill another townie, depending on what the mafia powers is available this game. It makes sense because if I am killed tonight then we would know for sure Kasabian is mafia and vice versa if that was the case.

In response to KevinH's no-lynch today, I disagree I'll be killed, role blocked or someone less contested townies (CC, Kaziocore) could also be killed rather than the obvious kill the two cleared townies. Just food for thought. I doubt I will be killed by mafia because it will seal Kasabian's fate and instead they'll try to go for a no lynch or lynch their own mafia as a lost cause and maneuver from there. They shouldn't be given room to maneuver.

@Kasabian I actually was not on the chopping block, you were and you played coy and tried to weasel your way out by claiming a power role and forcing them to out themselves or forever be silent.

@Kasabian I actually was not on the chopping block, you were and you played coy and tried to weasel your way out by claiming a power role and forcing them to out themselves or forever be silent.

Sure you weren't then the next target ppl were considering about to lynch...

this is going for you too, way after mole requested the roleclaim, check the dates, the 18 i was telling KevinH i saved him(therefore im the doc) , he didn't understand what i was saying to him. So it's up to the other players to believe me or not.

Wow , doesn't even a thank you note ...

I'd like a roleclaim, please.

3. Worst case mis-lynching townie scenario...

7T - 3M

D1 - no lynch

N1 - no nightkill

7T - 3M

D2 - mis-lynch townie (mole)

N2 - nightkill (CD)

5T -3M

D3 - mis-lynch (doc)

N3 - nightkill (KevinH)

GAME OVER

That gives 1 nights for the cop find scum/townies.

If D2 is mis-lynch townie (mole)

I am positive that D3 will be lynch scum (chaoshawk)

That leads to

4T - 2M

D4

If D2 is mis-lynch townie (mole)

I am positive that D3 will be lynch scum (chaoshawk)

That leads to

4T - 2M

D4

And what if after all Kasabian and Mole have different allignment?

Lynching either the two is the best logical step we must follow

because here we would be guaranteed to get at least 1 scum.

concerning kasa/CH someone is lying the chance of two docs is to great so i agree with lynching the other will be revealed

on other things we are assuming

to me there are two many ifs right now to be absolutely sure

The night-kill will go against CanucksDyanasty, Martino, or me.

Any other target will reduce the number of potential scum sets.

New information from the battlefield tomorrow may limit the field further and positively identify the scum.

Fact: One of you is lying (Kasa or CH).

Fact: CH correctly identified the winning % on the battlefield for townies (or close enough to avoid a mod-kill).

Fact: CH voted for Kasa

Fact: Kasa voted NO-LYNCH!!!!

Why on earth would a townie not vote for a known mafia?

Kasa mentioned that he dropped hints that he was medic before being asked to roleclaim. He was already getting 4 votes before he dropped the hints. Perhaps this was his way to save his own hide. I saw no hints in his previous posts on D1.

Fact: One of you is lying (Kasa or CH).

I saw no hints in his previous posts on D1.

what's today? mmm lets see 22 and when is the deadline? mmm is it 26? yep it is, that day or the day before i'll place my vote.

Was i suppose to tell i was the doctor then?

go ahead and lynch me my friend, as i told you before, for more experience you may have within the mafia game, you'r wrong!
