I have had beef bacon in Islamic countries. Bacon actually doesn't come from most pigs. You have to make them especially overweight in order to get them to produce bacon.
I would also like to state that none of the pictures above are of bacon. They are of the nasty fatty fake so called "streaky" bacon.

I like both. Bacon is bacon and fat is flavor. Fancy pants restaurants take thick cuts of the streaky bacon and use the original pork belly name. It's all bacon and it's all good.

It's best when it's almost charred...unfortunately it really shrinks like that.

Also, my fridge is never without at least 1 pack of bacon in it. If i use said pack, i go to the store that same day or the next and replenish my stock.

It is plain strait forward Bacon, sometimes referred to as back bacon. It is from the the same part of the pig as a pork chop (in fact it is essentially a thin sliced chop) rather than the belly of the pig. It has much less fat so doesn't just turn to water when cooked.
