Not interested in a Rafay lynch right now as I think he's town and I found one suspicious player.

Ok, after looking through everything, here's some of my thoughts:

1. I think it's hard to tell at this point if EM and LK are telling the

truth. So for now i'll give them the benefit of the doubt and assume

what they're saying is true.

2. I don't understand why you guys are pushing for D3mon. From what i gather, this whole push

towards him started with kaz saying that him voting no-lynch was a bad

idea, and that's it. he really hasn't done anything that scummy.

3. Also, i don't know why everyone is clearing Xarastier as a for sure townie.

one of his first posts is a role-claim with some story i can't even make

sense of...it may be him adding RP, but it's confusing and really

doesn't add anything... Also, haven't you guys noticed that as soon as

he got cleared as town we haven't heard a thing from him? Little

suspicious right there.

4. Then there's Rafay. I know his style of play is a little wacky, but this game... just come on, he

really is being crazy in what he posts. Example: for some reason, he

thinks that Electric and Kaz are out to get him and are pushing for a

lynch on him when i don't think anyone has voted for him the entire game

except for Kaz's first random vote. So maybe Rafay is playing some

weird strategy or really does not understand what it happening around

him. Either of those two choices are very counter-productive to the town

and really just confuses everyone that reads his posts.

5. Also, most of you guys are clearing kaz of being scum just because he is

talking a lot and leading the conversation. Sure that can be a townie

actually scum hunting, or a scum trying to gain rep as town early when

it's easier so he can take control later in the game and influence the

next lynch easier.

6. I'm not necessarily accusing anyone

that i just listed as being scum, i'm just saying possible guys we may

need to look out for. However, i will vote to lynch the person i think

to be the most harmful to the town at this point, and with the reasons

stated above:

vote: Rafay

1. Reads to me that he still wants to instill doubt to those who think the two are scum.

2. Although I don't like to give associate tells before any flips, this looks to me

that Karl is defending/buddying d3mon when it's unnecessary. D3mon was never

in danger of getting lynched (in my opinion)

3,5. Scum doesn't like to reduce the scum pool or clear someone.

It gives them a lot of convenient choices.

4. Thinks Rafay could be the convenient lynch target for the day because of his play-style

(everyone knows that Rafay is always defensive regardless of his alignment).

What's interesting here is that he picked Rafay over Xarastier even though objectively

speaking, Xarastier's posts were more crazy. He was just a little suspicious with Xarastier

even though he posted reasons not to believe in Xarastier's claim. My guess is that

a Xarastier lynch will not get much support than a Rafay lynch.

6. Reads as being non-commitant... He's not saying they're scum but he says we should look after them.

Vote: Xx Karl xX

@Karl: Do tell us your reads. Who's likely scum, who's likely town, and who's still a null read.

First, lets deal with those six points:

1. Sorry, i wasn't instilling doubt in anyone, i was just posting the extremely obvious at that point in the game. EM only role claimed because LK was about to be lynched. it was either the truth, or scum trying to save their skin. I was just saying that i chose to believe that they were telling the truth.

2. i was defending d3mon because I thought he hadn't done anything scummy at that point and seemed pretty townie, and I didn't think it was smart for there to be 3 people voting for him. Also, what do you mean he was in no danger of being lynched? everyone in the game wanted a day 1 lynch and d3mon was one of the few guys being targeted for that lynch. Seemed like he was in danger to me...

3 and 5. your point on these just completely contradicts what you say in your entire null section on your list. you neither, "reduce the scum pool or clear someone," and, "gives [you] a lot of convenient choices." so please don't call me scummy when you did the exact same thing.

4. Wow, you need to stop being so literal. i do in fact think Xara is being very scummy, I was even the first person to point out that he had been very quiet ever since he had been accused of being scummy.

6. reads as you are putting words in my mouth that I never said. I'm pretty sure i never said "I dont have any clue who could be scum, please go find them for me guys, herp derp." I listed rafay and xara as scummy, and also hinted at you kaz, as not being this all-mighty townie that knows everything. So you're wrong, I did say that I thought there were scum.

1. Okay I might have read this part wrongly because saying "i'll be giving him/her the benefit of doubt" just sounds like there's doubt there for me...

2. But would they vote d3mon? From my experience, players here will usually wagon on inactives, people they think slipped, extremely paranoid or crazy people.

3 and 5. I did exactly you say? I explicitly stated who I think are townies (3), and scummy (3), the 5 null players in my list are unreadable at the time of my post because of their lack of content yet.

You on the other hand were lucky that EM and Lorikz Kain role-claimed as masons. Since it's unlikely that they're scum, you have no other choice but to say they're probably townie (but there is an element of doubt there ~ i'll be giving them the benefit of the doubt). You were also avoiding to explicitly state who you think are scum.

4. saying that Xarastier is a little suspicious is different from saying Xarastier is most likely scum and he deserves to be voted

6. herp derp... of you'll have to read between and beyond the lines to catch scum.

Of course you didn't say that exactly but it looks to me you're being non-committal.

Do you think the push on d3mon was town-motivated or scum-motivated?

well, i don't think it was very townie for people to push so hard for d3mon when he really hadn't said anything scummy or acted suspicious. and I think there were definitely better candidates to lynch that seemed more scummy.

Well between the two of you, EM's push was definitely more suspicious. your vote was just in the beginning when no one knew anything, and EM decided to bandwagon on that and push hard on it for some reason. not to mention that EM added to the scummy-ness by making that list without an explanation. But at this point, i'm choosing to believe that him and LK are what they say they are. so really at this point, neither of you guys are at the top of my most suspicious list.

Observe the bolded part. Can anyone comment if these look suspicious? They seem to be worded such that Xx Karl xX can conveniently backtrack.

For example:

1) I'm not necessarily accusing anyone that i just listed as being scum - he can backtrack to say he didn't really think the players are scummy

2) i don't think it was very townie - he also didn't say it was very scummy explicitly

3) neither of you guys are at the top of my most suspicious list - well if you're at the bottom of his list it fits with his description but he can conveniently put you in his 3rd spot and say "I suspected you earlier you know!"

Kaz - that arbitrary judging of my list using "facts" that could easily be said about any scum list any person makes...

Good that you're now telling everyone you suspect me because I'm suspecting you right now.

TOWN:

LK and EM: They linked each other together from day 1. I don't think scum would risk putting most of their eggs in one basket from the get-go, so they gotta be townies.

I'd say scum would list players as town when they seem to be obviously town (or considered by most as town).

1. Okay I might have read this part wrongly because saying "i'll be giving him/her the benefit of doubt" just sounds like there's doubt there for me...

Ok Kaz, if this is what you meant by saying that you were going to show us all how to really "scum hunt", then I hope you dont think you're gonna win the game this way. or at least not win it for the town. You single out a townie, criticize every last comment they make with bogus arguments that can be said about anyone and then try to confuse all the other townies about it with your scum tactics.

you say that you have to "read between the lines and beyond to catch scum", well i can vouch that you are going way beyond the lines here, but are not catching any scum. I hope you realize that over-analyzing simple statements does not make you some genius that can find scum in every little nook and cranny. You are just grasping at straws trying to find something that's just not there.

"Good that you're now telling everyone you suspect me because I'm suspecting you right now"

Oh i see, so somewhere in Kaz's Mafia Bible it says that if you accuse someone of being scummy with poor logic, then if you are accused of lying, then it proves that your assumptions are totally correct. But sadly, no. I'm accusing you because you are twisting every word I have said with crummy accusations that prove absolutely nothing.

"I'd say scum would list players as town when they seem to be obviously town"

I'd say there's another idiotic "accusation" from Kaz. Anyone else can list EM and LK as town-which I think there have been a few people-but when someone that Kaz accuses says there town then it turns into a scum tactic. You are just using the dumbest reasoning i have ever heard by saying that if someone agrees with the thinking of the majority then they are wrong for doing it. Thus making people afraid to join the majority and causing even more paranoia.

Holy crap this paragraph is so dumb i can't even believe it.

1) I critiqued like 5 different people and things i saw that were scummy looking. that doesn't mean i think all of them on that list are scum, or even any of them, just that they did scummy things that caught my attention.

2) It doesn't need to be explicitly stated! If there's only two choices and I say it's not the first choice, then it has to be the second choice! It's not that complicated...I thought that you surely could have figured that one out...

3) You asked me who i thought was more suspicious. I said neither were very suspicious to me at that point. you then critique me for saying i didn't think either of you were very suspicious. seems like a very baited question to me that had no "winnable" answer. And here, i'll state this explicitly: That is a scum tactic.

I did exactly you say? I explicitly stated who I think are townies (3), and scummy (3), the 5 null players in my list are unreadable at the time of my post because of their lack of content yet.

It doesn't matter if you explicitly stated who you think is what. It still fulfills the same criteria of what you call me scummy for. You neither "reduce the scum pool or clear someone as townie" So unless i'm mistaken, that makes you seem scummy, since I'm apparently scummy for doing that. Oh wait, you're Kaz and know everything, so of course nothing you do can seem scummy.

I'm sure there's so many more things that I could point out that you also do Kaz. So stop trying to call me scum based off of crap accusations that are only going to cause confusion in everyone else. I've come to the conclusion that you are either scum or a completely misguided townie. So misguided that you think you are some super-sleuth that can detect the slightest signs of scum. But in reality you know nothing and need to stop. Based off that, either of those two things are bad for the town and you need to go.

Vote: Kaz

Now i know that you are going to post after this trying to refute what I say with some more crap, and that me voting for you just completely proves how I am scum and that you are the greatest townie to ever live. But just don't. I'm tired of making these huge posts to show how you know nothing.

There seems to be an interesting back and forth between Kazio and Karl, I will read the posts that I missed today and try to post something useful as soon as possible.

Since my vote on Rafay isn't doing any good at the moment, I am switching my vote to d3mon.  Out of everyone else that currently has at least one vote, he would be my best pick.

Unvote: Rafay

Vote: d3mon

It is Day 2. Deadline is Friday, February 15, at 0600.

With 11 alive, it takes 6 to lynch, or 3 at deadline.

For one Imran, I wanted scum hunting, which involves thinking things out. I pointed out flaws in your observations, which is part of the overall process of scum hunting. If you dont like people examing what you are saying and telling you what they see differently then don't play Mafia, because that is the entire game.

For two, if you look at the first post KevinH made, this is a closed game. All the roles are listed. It's actually quite easy to go and make a combination with the roles and the modifiers, and as I said with only 9 townies, as long as you dont claim something powerful your probably not going to get caught.

Lastly, last game Xarastier didn't disapear. He just sat there and said repeatedly lets lynch at random here's how we do it. He ignored any questions but he didn't disapear like he has this game.

I'm sorry that I OMGUS'd (without voting for you.....) but I call it like I see it, and your failure to note several key things made you look scummy or unobservant. Again, there are other things going on so nobody can blame you if you have been busy and missed some things.

No. You made some logical points about Xarastier and I did not miss or ignore them. On any other player they would have made sense. But I dont think they apply to xarastier. Whatever he says makes no sense whatsoever. So if you are trying to pull logical deductions from his posts, its just like trying to make build a house with bricks made of chaos.

My point is simple...there was no way he could have guessed and made the correct assumption about odd and even night characteristics. I havent seen it before in any of the games I have played here and if I am not mistaken Xarastier is new to Mafia as well. So even with the roles listed its a very small probability that he guessed randomly and made a correct false role claim. Firstly, I dont see why he should be false role claiming anyway on Day 1 and then claiming the correct characteristics tips the beams in his favor being a clueless townie. Your failure to see these points is making me view you as suspicious.

I still don't understand why d3mon is a good pick for lynching. (btw, I've been saying that this whole time too and Kazio didn't accuse me of being scum for it like he did karl.... kind of an interesting fact there.)

However, instead of trying to rush a lynch vote in on someone. Why dont we continue to discuss who our best option is for lynching? I currently see 3 relatively good candidates for lynching today.

-Xarastier (yes I still think he's scum, and no I'm not going to leave that issue alone until hes proven to be townie.)

-Kaziocore or Karl (whichever you tend to believe in this showdown).

Personally, I tend to believe Karl right now. Kazio is reading too far into the exact wording of posts when theres no real information to be gained from it. Assumptions can be made from the wording but its very easy to assume wrongly. Also the fact that Kazio seems only to be reading this far between the lines with Karl instead of with everyone (since I sided with d3mon and have said several things similar to the posts kazio is attacking him over) is a bit suspicious to me. I still don't know whether Kazio just has it in his head that Karl is scum and won't re-evaluate that position or if Kazio is scum trying to push a lynch vote on Karl.

Once again back to the issue of D3mon though. I can't help but question LK and EM's towniness if they continue to push a vote on someone who clearly hasn't done anything to cause a lynch vote. Yes, he appears to be lying kind of low (nowhere near as low as Rafay), but there are far better candidates for lynching right now. If you have evidence against D3mon please present it so that we can make an informed lynch. If not, then change your vote. If niether of those 2 options sound agreeable, then tell me why or I'll have to consider your role claims as false (like I originally explained......).

The Rules

Only the following roles may exist in this game: Vanilla Dwarf, Sane Cop, Doctor, Vigilante, Roleblocker, Mason, Innocent Dwarf, Jailkeeper, Tracker, Watcher, Gunsmith, Miller, Bodyguard, Role Cop, Doublevoter, Hider, Neighbor, Neighborizer, Jack of All Trades, Goblin Goon, Goblin Traitor, Goblin Godfather, Goblin Framer, Goblin-aligned versions of above roles.

The roles may contain any of the following modifiers: Even/Odd Night, Non-Consecutive Night, X-Shot, Bulletproof, Neighbor, Compulsive, Macho, Weak, Backup (with or without primary role present).

Pretty obvious that those modifiers can be in the game. The fact that not very many games use them is just more reason for him to use that modifier. By using Even/Odd night you also reduce the chances that you will role claim a role that is in the game because even if there is another watcher in the game its still a 50/50 chance of if they are even or odd night.

No. You made some logical points about Xarastier and I did not miss or ignore them. On any other player they would have made sense. But I dont think they apply to xarastier. He didnt actually claim the correct characteristic for his role. He said something about passive ability and there isn't really anything about watcher thats passive. You target someone, you find out who targetted that person during the night but not what actions are preformed. I suppose by only being able to discover what was done to someone else you could consider it passive but he could have easily told us "I targetted person x and nothing was done to them during the night." He however didn't. He instead told us some excuse about getting no information as it pertains to the game or some garbage like that.

I can understand if you don't feel as strongly as I do on the point Imran, but you are seriously saying that he is a townie and that I am scum for pointing out the scummy things he has done? I have already disproven several of your points to defend him. I have made my argument and explained my reasoning and I'm pretty sure we can all agree that my thought process is sound. You can argue whether hes a poor misguided newby or if hes playing to your belief that he is mentally challenged and cant make a simple flase role claim in a game set-up that so strongly supports it, but the fact remains. His actions have made him look scummy. Your defense for him is that he is Xarastier and that he therefore just doesn't know anything and any scummy actions should be forgiven. Basically your asking us to pray that hes a townie cause if hes scum we will be forgiving him for giving it away and he will win.

He didnt actually claim the correct characteristic for his role. He said something about passive ability and there isn't really anything about watcher thats passive.

He actually pretty clearly stated that he is an odd night watcher:

Since I have this gift of Odd-night Watcher I'm looking for suggestions from the rest of us during the remainder of the day as to who I should watch tonight.

I can understand if you don't feel as strongly as I do on the point Imran, but you are seriously saying that he is a townie and that I am scum for pointing out the scummy things he has done? I am saying you are on my suspicions list because of trying to lynch someone who I feel is a role claimed power townie. If he had false role claimed he would have claimed another false result on trying to get someone else lynched today. For example, when people were clamoring to him to post who he watched the night before he could have easily got a townie he wanted lynched by claiming that he watched "xxx" the night before and "xxx" performed an action on killgor. That would have instantly put "xxx" in the limelight as the possible killer. So if he was such a smart scum who false claimed he would have been able to do this and get another townie lynched today too.

Your defense for him is that he is Xarastier and that he therefore just doesn't know anything and any scummy actions should be forgiven. Basically your asking us to pray that hes a townie cause if hes scum we will be forgiving him for giving it away and he will win.

I dont think its in the town best interest to lynch him. Maybe if a case is made that he is not helping the townies and his random postings are hurting the town I may be persuaded to vote for him.

For example, when people were clamoring to him to post who he watched the night before he could have easily got a townie he wanted lynched by claiming that he watched "xxx" the night before and "xxx" performed an action on killgor. So if he was such a smart scum who false claimed he would have been able to do this and get another townie lynched today too.

Got confused with tracker and watcher. My example should be read as -- he could have claimed that he was watching killgor and he saw "xxx" perform an action on him.

He said he was an odd-night watcher, yes. My point is that when we asked him who he had watched he said something about passive ability instead of listing any results. Because of the fact that he appears to not know exactly how the watcher role actually works (hence him talking about passive ability) it would lead me to believe that the reason he didnt try to claim a false result is because he doesn't know what his result would look like if he were a watcher. This is again speculation, but I still dont believe hes contributing anything other than creating another bandwagon for scum to hide in and get townies lynched, if he is townie that is which I still doubt. I wasn't going to vote to lynch him today anyway since he is disapearing like he is after trying to push a vote on me with a couple posts at the start of the day.

Your claim that because he didn't give a false result so theres no way he false role claimed is an interesting one. You would be right except that to make his false role claim only takes inteligence and attention to KevinH's first post. To then claim a false result however, would require knowledge of how that role works. The seperation here is that it takes experience (or research) to claim a false result, but it only takes a small amount of cunning to go and make up a role claim as simple as (odd-night watcher). Notice, no role name, no win condition. However, thats still all speculation since he refuses to post as soon as anyone questions him. Starting a lynch vote on someone and then disapearing for the day is so scummy that I don't know why we are even still arguing this.

We have another day and a half so lynch the right person please. I have yet to hear a good argument for why D3mon should be lynched, or really any argument for it at all. You guys are just random voting D3mon as far as I can tell which is not what we're supposed to do on day 2.

I'm not voting for Xar because I believe his role claim and I'm not voting for anyone else that I already said was townie either.  I'm voting for d3mon because I've played enough games with him to know that he is playing differently than normal.  Same thing for Rafay as well.

Ok, I am finally back.. and it seems like we are still struggling to find a viable lynch target.

Different.. perhaps, but how many times have you seen me play as town ? :P

TBH, I have been a little distracted by CN war and then RL.. but I will try to be back to my usual self.

Anyhow, my opinion of the players is

EM/LK : Are either going to pull off the greatest scum trick of all time or just a couple of townies. Imho, very likely townies.

Karl : Is contributing and making some pretty good observations, most likely town.

CoD : Is really going after Xarastier but his confession of disliking Xarastier's playing style makes me a little reluctant to follow his lead. Probably town.

Imran : One of my most vocal defenders has  either had a sudden change of heart or is thinking that I am a easy lynch target. Probably scum.

noah : A little inactive, so can't get a good read.

Xar : Has a very different style of playing the game. Sometimes, I agree with CoD's assessment that even if he is town, he is hurting it. I haven't been able to make up my mind about him.

Alternate_Tree: Again, don't have a good read on him.

Rafay: He is active but is trying to keep a low profile. Most like scum.

Kaz : Acting the most townie and seems to be making conscious effort to stay out of any bandwagon. I voted for him earlier in the day and now I will explain why.

Now, I am assuming that EM/LK are townies. Since, I am town, lynching me on day 1 would have been great for the scum but despite the most likely townies voting for me.. I was almost surprised that there was no bandwagon on me.

This can only indicate one of two things

1) The initial assumption is wrong and I am scum. My scum buddies defended me and saved me from getting lynched.

2) One of the scum was already voting for me and scum didn't want to get two people in the list of people that lynched a townie and thus stayed away from it.

Since, EM/LK are most likely townies, I believe that Kazio is very likely to be scum.

Vote : Kazio

Kaziocore (Bilbo Baggins, Compulsive Hider and member of the Company) was lynched.

Now it is Night 2. Send all actions to me by Sunday, February 17, at 15:00.

Once again the Company discovers it has lost a member.
Chaplain of Death (Ori, Non-Consecutive Night Jailer and member of the Company) was killed in the night.

Now it is Day 3. Deadline is Wednesday, February 27 at 1700.

With 9 alive, it takes 5 to lynch, or 3 at deadline.

It appears that the scum have us divided and our numbers are dwindling. We really need a scum lynch tonight. While it is suspicious that Rafay decided to bring down the hammer on kazio I'm going to push for a D3mon lynch as he just helped in the killing of a townie and has been under standing suspicion of being scum for near the entire game.

Vote: D3mon

Ok, I'm the other mason.  I am role claiming for the above reasons and am doing this now because of the impending Day 1 end.

To make it brief:

Townies:

 Electric Mango  - Mason

 Lorikz Kain - Mason

Chaplain of Death - There is no way someone rages like that and isn't town

 Xarastier - Watcher

Kaziocore - Playing hard nose and aggressive.  Pushing conversation, making stands, ACTUALLY saying meaningful things.

Killgor - He was pushing hard for Chaplains death and sticking to his guns.  Townie, count it.

That leaves :

Alternate_Tree

D3mon

Imran Ehsan

Noahband

Rafay

Xx Karl xX

I originally had Imran pegged for town, but after giving everything another read I'm not so sure so I have downgraded him back into my suspect pool.

I feel strongly that our 3 scum are among these 6.

I haven't got any strong scum tells from any of them but D3mon shows promise.  I get a feeling when I read his posts that he is trying to contribute to the conversation but is being careful in what he says.  My spidey sense is tingling.

I invite you all to join me in lynching him.

My original post still stands.

Vote: d3mon

Well.

Things are really not looking good. I would assume there are 3 scum in the game based on the number of participants. So, right now we are at 6 townie to 3 scum advantage. If we mislynch again and scum kills at night it will be 4 vs 3. Way too close to my liking. So I think we should analyze things a bit further before bandwagoning on a d3mon lynch. He is on my suspicious characters list but I havent seen any type of concrete evidence against him.
