Your defenses/buildings/etc will revert to their last completed level for the purposes of a clan war if they are being upgraded during the time which a clan war takes place.

 

For example: If you are upgrading a cannon from level 7 to level 8 when a clan war begins, your cannon will operate as a level 7 cannon during the war.

Yea i was unaware.  That was my main issue when everyone wanted to constantly do clan wars...i was like that leaves no time for me to upgrade my shit because most of mine takes like 3-5 days to build now.  

 

So now that I'm aware, we can do a clan war one right after the other.  It's not like even if someone beats my setup that they steal that much anyway.  So yea...now i got less reason to complain :/

It's hardly too expensive on elixir, just save all your gems and keep popping the 1d boost to the collectors. The amount you get back from the war should cover a good chunk of your troop training costs. It's not like you'll go into debt. On preparation day, do 3-4 raids with a Barch+Goblin+Giant arrangement and you'll find your make plenty of elixir to cover your costs. Hit people who have attacked you via revenge so they can't hit you back, and use lightning spells to harvest resources even quicker. If you're worried about losing trophies, do 1-2 runs focusing entirely on resources then one focusing on getting stars. The trophy loss is much less than the trophy gain in the long run.

I careless about trophies, i only care about getting new troops and upgrading D.  Not all of us have all the cool different units, or upgraded to level 5+

The highest barracks level req to have a moderately useful farming army is 4 to get the giant. I don't have a single level 5+ unit, but either way the idea behind farming is to spam and grab as much as you can as quickly as you can without caring too much about how much you can actually destroy.

 

Some people just spam an army with is 75-80% goblins and the rest giants, it works just as well for farming but you are a lot less likely to get a star. Everyone can farm effectively, it just takes some practice. You have to be willing to waste some gold finding a good target (a target in your range who has a poor base setup or who has a town hall that is wayyyy higher in level than the rest of their stuff) and the patience to see great gain in the long run. It's all about prioritizng what resources you really need and focusing on getting as much as you can out of a single target.

 

Even just making some lightning spells then dropping all of them straight onto an enemy resource storage structure is enough to get an amicable return. I only farm Dark Elixir now and I do it with this method. I hit as many of the people who have already hit me as I can via revenge then I attack 1-2 targets through the battle finder to get my trophies back up.
