Where in the World is Peggy the Panda?

Peggy the Pink Panda loves to explore. She has been taking some trips around the world lately, but she went so many different places that she can't remember which is which. Can you help find Peggy the Pink Panda?

Here's how the game works. Someone posts an image with Peggy the Pink Panda in it. (For the time being I can take care of that part.) Then everyone else tries to guess where Peggy the Panda is located in the image, using any number of yes-or-no questions. The first person to guess correctly scores a point! :awesome:

Your name appears in the scoresheet like this: Name xx&yy. xx is the number of puzzles you have posted, and yy is the number of puzzles you have solved. I recommend only updating both numbers at the same time, when someone solves your puzzle and posts the solution. You are ranked by the sum of the two numbers, with the number solved taking priority. :)

Where in the World is Peggy the Pink Panda is inspired by a similar game called "Where in the World is My Little Squishy" by Mihail the Just.

Here's the first image. Where is Peggy the Pink Panda?

Beiroet?

Also, is the green dome shape part of the building or not?

No, not Beirut. And the green "dome" is actually not part of the building. It is the root of a different building in tbe background.

Hint: Peggy was glad to see this building when she strayed northwest off of the infamous trade route connecting Europe to China and the sun was starting to set.

Don't think it was in the Levant then, is it in one of the former USSR states in between the black sea and the kaspian sea?

figures the "dome" type deal wasn't with the building, I was basing my guesses on that :D

According to this map the country is in the extended Levant region.

It is not a former Soviet state.

Adana? Wild guess...

You're not too far away. Correct country, now just go a bit more northwest. :)

Another hint: When Peggy saw the signs leading into this town, she thought she was heading into a tea market.

Remember that I need both the city and the building type. I think I dropped a good hint at the building type with my previous clue a few posts ago. :)

think I need to leave this to someone who actually knows something about tea >_>

You don't need to know anything about tea. Think outside the box a bit. Why would a sign pointing to a city talk about tea? Also, what language would the sign be in?

Well we are in Turkey, so obviously turkish. Its just that nothing "tickled" my senses when I looked around Konya, hence I hoped someone else might see it :D

Good. Now, what is "tea" in Turkish?

Your idea of 50 miles is kinda off

town: Çay

building: Inn

Bingo! :awesome:

onbekende: 5***

FOReverNShade: 3

War 2nd Horseman: 2

Theophilos: 1

sap3179: 1

Rhizoctonia: 1

Peggy is on her journey to this holy place. Where is it? What religion? Whom does the holy place honor?

I dare someone to beat onbekende to the solution. :)

First guess would have been Hinduism and south-east asia, but taking a better look:

Mediteranion Sea area, Roman, Jupiter?

Your first instinct was correct :)

Now can you drill down on the specific temple and the God(s) it honors?

really? Cause the tree's at the back are very spiky and skinny and made me think of the mediteranian (I am butchering that word btw :D)

Thailand, Hinduism, Vishnu temple complex, Vishnu

(i bolded the thing I already got, ignore the "name" as of yet)
