That being said. No one ruined his career, he did that to himself. He cheated on his wife and supplied classified information on meetings and undercover agents to her.
It's not illegal to cheat on your wife... ask Bill Clinton. Obama was afraid the General would run against him in 2012, so he offered him a job as CIA Director to get him to Washington and pull him in close. Then he was afraid he would run for VP with Mitt Romney. Then the blow point was when Benghazi happened and he wouldn't carry his water, so his henchman Eric Holder indicted him for sharing his calendar with his girlfriend. Yes... THEY ruined his career.
Dude...He showed his "lover" classified information that not only he shouldn't of kept, but especially not showing them to her. He plead guilty to it. Why do you condemn Clinton and stand up for Petraeus? They basically did the same thing, all dealing with Classified information...one showing his mistress, the other using a private server. Both mishandled the information, both should get their due punishment. Don't get me wrong, I hate Clinton, and as I said I hope she gets the book thrown at her, but I'm not going to sit here and defend Petraeus just because I like him when he mishandled classified information and plead guilty. If you're going to place guilt on one person, at least place unbiased to all sides.
You throw out Bill Clinton cheating on Hillary like he's scum..."just ask Bill Clinton," yet do not share such hate for Petraeus who did the same thing. Personally, I lose respect for anyone who cheats on their wife, not that it mattered much as I didn't have much respect for Bill in the first place, but it certainly is nothing I will stand up for Petraeus for doing.
Petraeus was a great man, a great general, and someone I will always thank for what he's done for my country. But his resume and accomplishments doesn't exclude nor remove him cheating on his wife, and him mishandling and sharing classified information to his mistress. He messed up, he got his punishment, just as Hillary did, and now we wait to see if her punishment if any, fits the crime.
Republican's have a much bigger issue then Hillary Clinton atm anyway. The way the GOP is going, it doesn't matter if Hillary gets steamrolled by the Feds and ruin her run for Presidency, because if they don't get their acts straight, Bernie Sanders or some other Democrat will win with Hillary gone. To be quite frank, Trump can hand the Democrats the win if he decides to run independent. I like Trump for his no filter, no PC bullshit that everyone else is afraid of. That being said, all I feel Trump is trying to do is manhandle his way through this all by threatening the possibility of running independent if he's "not treated fairly." What's being treated fairly? He's already attacked someone for asking tough questions to him...so he obviously want's softball questions thrown his way, and leaving the threat out there that if you don't do it, I'll screw the GOP over by running independent. Sure, he got thrown the more loaded questions at the debate comparably to the other candidates....but deal with it? If he can't handle people asking him the tough questions now, how does he plan to handle when the Democrats really get started ramping up their mudslinging if he is the candidate, or future debates. Is he just going to come off saying they are all ragging too, or make more material for the other side to eat up and turn around on him. He's literally killing the GOP party by even being involved, as he's doing nothing for attracting independents and democrats to look to swing Republican.
