Meanwhile in Belgium we are racking up the "warmest day/month/year since +100y of measuring" records left and right.

 

Its a gradual thing, it took like 10y before we noticed the ozone layer going poof, and now we just stopped it thinning out, getting it to renew is another century more then likely.

Currently Brussels is 49F, feels like 44... alert the media, break out the sunscreen, and get Al Gore out of his private plane to speak to the UN. It's a heatwave and the world is coming to an end!

I will try and find the graphic when I have a computer, but effectively tge ten warmest years in the last century have all been after 1990. And the ten coldest before 1950.

We are not talking vast temperature changes, but put it this way. At a time when parts of the USA was under a 1000m of ice global temperature was 2 degrees cooler. We are talking about trying to limit the increase created by man to 2 degrees.

Yeah, that 49F comes to 9°C, we have an average of 6°C normally during these days of the year. Heck 4 days ago (monday) it was 59F, the average for januari is 38F!

 

Last years december (2015) was the warmest december ever, by a margin of several degrees! heck that december was hotter then the hottest april ever recorded!

 

I am all for statistics and so, and can relate to "average out" outlyers who get into your numbers. Sad thing is that when you just find outlyers, it says your model is changing...

 

Basically, you can shout how loud you want about not seeing things change, but thats normal. Your own children's growth is mostly oblivious but when you see a kid only once a year you truely see growth. Gradual change gets noticed in a timeframe, not from yesterday to today.

Okay, so the truth starts to come out. What you are telling me is your island does not have the natural resources to sustain your population, just like California does not have the natural resources to sustain 40 million people. We don't have a climate issue... we have an over population issue. So a bunch of scientists get together and say, "We have an over population issue and the two worst things we ever did to life on Earth was Medicine and Peace".

 

So, instead of going to the UN and screaming that the Earth does not have the natural resources to sustain 10 billion people for 100 years... so we have to let... *whisper* or cause... a few billion to die... they come up with this science fiction, mathematical equation, bullshit story, about global warming and tell us to just trust them, they got it all figured out, and we're all just too stupid to understand. Knowing full well that the way things are going... the rich will live, and the poor are the ones that will die... they then make up a plan to even the score. Force developed nations to give their wealth to underdeveloped nations... redistribution of wealth.

 

But, this is the 21st century, and all our books are now written in a language we understand, so we're not stupid enough to fall for it... and they have been trying to cover their ass ever since with a bigger bullshit story. I think my explanation is more believable than yours.

What is this about "slightly improved weather"? Our climate is changing, and for Western Europe this means that we are losing our "mild climate" in favor of more obvious weather extreme's. The climate in general is agravating into more extreme weather phenomena's. This doesn't mean it can't be blistering hot or freezing cold once every year, it means that the extreme's are becomming the average. perhaps you like having a tornado every other day (which is an excageration, before you go claiming I said that is what you get...) but I liked our mild climate. If I needed 6 months of -30°C I would have gone to Siberia, if I wanted 6 months of 40°C I would have gone to Dubai.

 

There is no constant distress, heck you americans shouldn't be belitteling that term, you folks see the boogyman every other corner. We are noting a difference in climate and seeing a link to our own actions the past decades/centuries. We are talking about keeping the climate just run by nature, not by the amount of chimney's one country has.

 

Perhaps we should start coining the word "Climate aggrevation", perhaps that would make more sense to you.

The bigger concerns are that warmer temperatures allow disease vectors to survive longer and potentially over winter further north. This could lead to Malaria entering north america and re-entering Europe, increasing lyme's disease, and a whole host of nasty ass shit like dengue, yellow fever, and west Nile virus just to name a few that we have names for...

I'll try to make my position a bit more clear on this climate crap. Our planet is going on it's own merry way like it always has, the thing that's changing is population. Population on planet Earth has exploded from about 370 million in 1350, to about 8 billion now. This is not slowing down. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure out that their are only so many seats on a lifeboat.

 

Now some people believe that it's their duty as human beings to care about all these people, after all, they have been trying to control and rule the masses since they discovered that a leaf can cover their private parts. Superstition did the job for centuries. People gave their leaders power they never earned, and intelligence they never had, because they were selling a bullshit story, and they bought it... they were afraid to not believe.

 

But things have changed. We have half a planet that thrives with wealth and power. The other half is in constant poverty, riddled with disease, and struggling with thirst and starvation. These people that believe they are "global citizens" and on a personal mission to balance the wealth, and save half the planet... have failed to get the wealthy half to care. So they resort to the old ways of superstition to create fear, and a personal obligation... to not care about the plebs, but to care about the Earth. The planet is dying... so to save the planet... you have to surrender a portion of your wealth to the other half.

 

Whatever story these "global citizens" come up with... it always ends with developed nations taking care of underdeveloped nations. That is the end result... always... they don't care how they get there. It wouldn't hurt if we destroyed how we power the planet along the way, because they hate them most of all.

 

You can call me whatever you want. You can call me a "climate denier", a "knuckledragger", you can call me stupid, and I don't believe in science... I don't care what you say. The people I don't believe in, are the people that got you to believe in this bullshit story. I am not a "global citizen", and those people are not my fault or responsibility. I take care of myself and my family, and when I can't do that anymore I will check out of this life. I will not stand by and allow these "global citizens" to make that harder for me.

 

So I do hope I do not have to talk about this any longer. You will never change my mind. I'm not buying what you're selling. Now I will make more coffee, and enjoy the same normal weather I have enjoyed, all my life.

They have had plenty of time to convince me my friend. You believe the sky is falling because you want to believe the sky is falling... it matches your values, and you point at everything that happens and say "See? Climate Change!".

 

I only need to know who wants it, and what they want for it. It's always the same people, wanting the same thing, from the same people. The only thing that keeps changing, are the means. So it's not a matter of having a closed mind, it's that a decision has been made to not believe you. That's who I am, and I'm very proud of it.

I myself voted for anti-establishment candidate in our last elections I can totally relate to this surge, I recall it being very exciting. Unfortunately, elections in our part tend to be bit more rigged.

I think Trump will win the Iowa caucus. Trying to stop him is like spitballs at a freight train. His message has captured the imagination of everyone that has been told that things cannot be done. He never says "it can't be done". There is always a chance that someone else comes out on top, but Iowa is only a momentum factor. It didn't help Santorum last time, or Huckabee the time before that. Gingrich won South Carolina last time and that didn't help him, but no one ever wins all three, not in this political climate. Trump wins all three... it's over.

I just saw this ad. Marco is such a good candidate. He would be my choice for VP as well if Trump takes it, but there is someone that Donald might pick that I had not thought of before. Rudy Giuliani... they have been friends for 25 years.

anti-establishment just leads to a new establishment being founded. Changing the 1% ruling from above with another 1% isn't really a strategy unless you consider yourself a part of the 1%. Are you? I sorta agree with this cause, but for a different reason. In light with the next quote, I have found our "modernisation" to have gone to fast in certain parts of th globe.

 

Take for instance the pre-industrial "the bigger the better" approach to family, one which thrived on only family sticking up for eachother. Couple that with abominal health and you need to pop out a dozen kids so on your "old" day you still got something to take care of you. Its just that some continents did't get a gradual change in living/health standards as "the west" did, and as such you still got families of 10 but suddenly 8 of those will reach age 80!

 

Now average children per family is dangling at 2 for fully developed countries, its the less developed who are slowly curving down to it.

So just the amount is bad, not what that amount is doing to nature itself? The steps put forth by climate change "leftists" is to try and get back to a level of "nest-polution" found when we weren't exploding into +8 billion people. You'd want innovation to reach said goal as getting a group to go by with less only happens when less is actually to go by. Sadly modern globalism has only given us more then we ever need and we gobble it all up for god knows why.

Well we know some parts of the globe dislike the very idea of "being social", but last I checked the part of the globe that did all the superstitioning and all the unearned/dumb leaders is basically that same part of the globe.

Thank you so much for that! I love lefty humor. It's Democrats that can't take a joke when it's about them, and I absolutely love everything about your very long comment. No, sorry to say, I am no where near the 1%. Not that I couldn't be if I had tried harder, but being that rich would involve much more responsibility than I was ever willing to accept.

 

I like my simple life. I'm self employed, I work at home, it takes me about 3 hours to complete my work for the week, and I go in to the office once every week or two. I chose at an early age that my freedom to always do what I wanted to do, and not be required to do what other people wanted me to do, was the single most important thing in my life. That pretty much sums up why I turned my back on a career in the military... which was offered to me on a silver platter. I didn't want to spend my life giving orders, and I didn't want to follow orders from anyone else. I employ no one... for the same reason. I don't work hard... I work smart. I do everything myself. If something goes wrong, it's my fault. I may choose to expand my business soon, which would involve more work, but that would be if my wife needs to slow down. She's a workaholic.

 

My simple life with my wife is everything to me. We live for the day, and we make the most of every day together, and if I ever lost her... that would be the end for me, because none of this works without her. We have known each other since high school. This may be more personal than I should ever be here. We shall see...
