I don't think its gone. It needs major fixing tho, and I've admitted as much. That's what we have Medicaid for. The only thing the ACA has done is make healthcare unaffordable for all the people who were already paying for it. People used to get into medicine because they wanted to help people... now they want to get rich. The abortion industry is totally built on getting rich. Hard to argue that killing babies doesn't go against that oath to "cause no harm". The ACA is on it's way out. It's not a matter of if... just when. But then you deny health care to those who can't afford it. And that's abhorrent and immoral.
We could very easily have a system like the NHS in the UK here in the US. But that comes down to hard work and the give and take to make that happen, which won't happen because "SOCIALISM!" and "STATES RIGHTS!!"
It can be fixed. And fixed well. But do the politicians have the proper backbone to fix it? Or will the tired old ideologies come into play?
You know, like the one where women are too stupid to know what to do with their bodies....Just because I personally don't agree with abortion doesn't mean that my position is the one EVERYONE should have. That's up to the woman who is considering it. And shaming her is just stupid.
But I digress.
