If we learned anything from last night it was that when Marco Rubio received the kiss of death from the Republican establishment, it sealed his fate. I understand that Marco wants to run for Governor of Florida... if he is not elected President. It would be smart for Marco at this point, to pull out of this race, saying "it's just not my time". Next Tuesday I believe he will be unmercifully beaten by Donald Trump in his own state. That will be quite embarrassing for the golden boy, to then try to run for Governor.
Donald Trump won Hawaii. It was widely believed that Marco would carry the island state, that is one of the most liberal states in the country. Finding a Republican there is as rare as hens teeth. Donald Trump is the only Republican anywhere near on track to win the nomination... and he is just now starting to come out of the hard part. After Trump wins Florida next Tuesday, it will be too easy from there. He has totally locked up the south where he should have had the most trouble... it should have been all Cruz territory. If John Kasich pulls off a Hail Mary, and wins Ohio... it is a mere attempt to block his inevitable nomination, but why on earth would anyone take the time to vote for someone that has no chance of being elected?
Current Delegate Count
Donald Trump - 461
Ted Cruz - 360
Marco Rubio - 154
Needed to win - 1,237
Next Tuesday is Florida, Ohio, Missouri, Illinois, and North Carolina... with Wyoming, DC, and some provinces in between. I believe after March 15th we will have a presumptive nominee... Donald Trump. Trying to stop him at that point, is futile... you would have to be on drugs to think he won't take New York, California, and most of everything else.
