Ah ok. Outside of my school, there were signs everywhere that had Trump's name on them. One person even made their own homemade sign and stuck it outside. It has that generic Trump pic. It looks like it was made in MS Paint and MS Word. I swear, it was the funniest thing ever. Laughed for more than a minute. Everyone looked at me strangely, but who cares. I swear, Trump supporters are the funniest people.

I have a situation this year I have never encountered. My oldest daughter is all for Trump, and my daughter that's a year younger is all for Bernie, and tells me if Trump wins... she's killing herself. I raised them all to be individualists, and to always have their own mind... but I'm really having trouble with their passion. Both ways... it's off the scale. It's my fault that they pay so much attention to politics. My wife, who is strongly for Trump, will have to perform some of that mother magic to keep things steady.

On a more serious note, I am guessing they are both too young to have yet reached the quiet acceptance that nothing ever really changes, nothing is ever truly the end of the world.

EDIT: On the numbers thing, there are 13 states holding votes, 12 of which are holding democrat votes and 11 of which are holding Republican votes.

Thanks Ice. I always look at Republican stuff, and fail to cross-reference with Democrat. I have to remember they do strange things.

Hah. Lys, you have really fractured family politics. Wonder how the dinner table works out. I can't remember who you support. Care to refresh my mind?

Edit: The "Hah" is not directed towards you Lys. Just clarifying

We live in Las Vegas, our kids are grown and live in Washington and Denver. We're an American family... one is Conservative, one is Liberal, one is an Independent, and one doesn't give a shit. The Independent is the only one to give us a grandchild so far. Go figure. I get into the best conversations with the Liberal's boyfriend. I think he's a brilliant man with a great future. People can talk politics without hating each other, he's a Bernie man, but I love him to death because he takes care of my little girl.

I'm a Republican, so I will support the nominee. I would vote for Dexter, House MD, or Tony Soprano before I would vote for any Democrat. The thing with Donald Trump that people don't understand... especially the Republicans... is he knows what the problems are. He says what the problems are. He says he will do something about the problems. Everyone else says it can't be done, or are too worried about doing what they know is right... because it's too hard to do and might hurt someone's feelings. Most of us are just sick to death of things getting worse, and no one doing anything about it... so we will turn it over to Trump. He's the only one that stands a chance of actually getting it done, or at least getting us back on the road.

Our President isn't supposed to be the nicest guy... it should not be a popularity contest. He should be an effective President.

Muahaha... I saw JFK's funeral on TV. I saw The Beatles on Ed Sullivan. I watched Batman, Star Trek, and The Monkees on TV. I had a Mattel Intellivision. I voted for Ronald Reagan twice. Need more? I met my wife in high school in 1975. My favorite musician of all time is Todd Rundgren. I saw the first Star Wars movie in a theater. I had a Quad 8-Track deck in my first truck. My oldest daughter is 35.

I'm 56 Sir.

You know its going to be a heck of a year when you walk into the polls asking yourself "Who do I hate the least". At the end of the day I hope we end up getting a brokered convention(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brokered_convention). Which means that I would want to vote for the least committed elector rather than their candidate. The only issue with this is that it will kill our turnout cause the hardcore Trump supporters will say "The Establishments stripping us of our vote." It would be a validation of the anger that many republicans are acting on with their vote. I think the current pool of candidates sucks. Problems On the Democratic side: Well for one their democrats, and 1) Is under investigation for commiting a federal crime her staff has already been convicted of doing, also generally politics suck B) A "Democratic Socialist" who gets to claim the radical nature of a socialist position except all the crap he doesnt feel like. Also he's like 10 million years old and wont live through his first term. and on the Republican side: 1) You have a rich former democrat who we honestly dont know what they believe but gets alot of crap they shouldnt(And alot they should) 2) A first term senator who is projected to lose the primary in the state he is supposed to serve on the senate. Also look at this guys claims vs his congressional votes its scary. 3) Probably the most unlikeable canidate following hillary. Also first term senator. Really tough election. :(

You should always vote for the biggest bad-ass.

Ben Carson is a super smart, super nice guy... and he would be chewed up, ignored, and bullied into a fetal position by Congress.

Kasich knows nothing about how Washington DC works today... it's a total different animal, and his way will never work now.

Barack Obama always did what was easy. He never wanted to even say hello to Congress... he just wanted to sign stuff and talk bad about the USA all over the world.

I think Rubio would do the same, except talk good about the USA all over the world.

Bernie Sanders would not get anywhere past inauguration. He has never been able to move anything, ever, no one in Congress will help him with any of his crazy ideas.

Cruz has the courage, but he doesn't have the means... it would be a constant fight with no victory.

Hillary Clinton? The only thing she has ever wanted is to make history as the first. Nobody trusts her with anything.

Trump is the only one that they are all afraid of. He doesn't owe anyone, anything. He will drag them to the table, and force them to do their job. If they refuse? He will go to every media source available, and destroy them all. They are terrified of Donald Trump.

The brokered convention scenario will not happen. If Trump has a commanding lead, and they take the nomination from him, the party will split apart and he will run Independent, and his support will go with him. They have to respect the choice of the people.

That's the thing. Everybody is afraid of Trump, even the media. The Washington Post (https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/volokh-conspiracy/wp/2016/02/25/time-to-unite-against-trump/) is begging for everyone to get rid of Trump. The other.. Trump has not generally been in the political field, He can pull whatever surprise he wants, and nobody can attack, because he's Donald Trump.

Trump doesn't have a commanding lead though. The split is close enough to where unless we get late swings we are heading into the rare enviroment where a brokered election scenario can go down. The polls are projecting a tight race and w/ three candidates performing so close with the cash reserves they have if no one gets a majority we automatically hit a brokered convention. Trump sucks because a) Congress would hate cooperating with Trump. The Speaker came out and expressed disdain for Trump. They may very well fear him but they  possess the power to restrain him. http://dailycaller.com/2016/02/27/mcconnell-tells-gop-senators-well-drop-trump-like-a-hot-rock/  b:The Islamaphobic comments aren't cool. I would have head out to the polls and sing I'm proud to be an american while I voted for Trump until he doubled down on a ban on muslim immigration. The comments he made about hispanics while they could easily be interpreted negatively are easily defensible in my mind because of the phrasing.

I completely agree with you Emu... But, "If" he has a commanding lead, but not enough to clinch, there will be trouble if they don't give it to him. He has a strong lead right now. After today, he will have a commanding lead. Anyone who wins 13 out of the first 15 states, will win the nomination. I'll be shocked if he doesn't win every state but Texas today. There is no reason to expect that suddenly he will start losing. The only way to beat Trump is for candidates to drop out, and pray to God that their supporters do not switch to Trump. I don't see that happening. That thing about all of Congress shutting down if Trump is elected? I would love to see them try. This is called hitting reset.

Well it all depends on what happens today... And on the whole congress thing: I am not saying they will shutdown, or stop doing crap what I am saying is that Trump is going to have a hard time in the PC game. Co-Op will still happen but it is greatly diminished because of the fights he is having w/ other republicans. A trump presidency fractures the legislative process among republicans. Perhaps they still pull the trigger on conservative policies but its going to be a bit harder than it should be.
