Oh, I very much empathize with the victims. It's the authorities that don't give a crap about their own citizens in fear of offending a few religious minorities. You know what I'm talking about.

An airport is supposed to have very high levels of security. It seems like the blasts were actually inside the terminal so they managed to get inside the airport bypassing the security. Pretty lax security measures were in place it seems or they had airport personnel who helped them to get in.

Round them up and hang them, trust me, no sane person would be offended regardless of their religious affiliation if the terrorists are hanged or kicked or jailed. Anyone who is pissed, investigate them too!

Thats not good enough. In my country you cant even get to the check-in counters before passing through a couple of layers of security. No one who doesnt have a valid ticket isnt even allowed in the departure terminal. The days of lax security is over I am afraid and you guys need to catch up fast to the dangerous world this has become.

 

And I do agree with ccabal (even though he likes to lump all muslims with the terrorists). We have dealt with these extremists in our country too and nothing but a heavy hand will deter them even though it may piss off some people. Our government has a simple strategy of shoot them as they are caught and the few that make it t trial are hung. In our specific case, the extremism started through thousands of Saudi funded religious schools set up in the country which pretty much ran with absolute no monitoring and completely funded by the Arabs. The new Govt  started strict monitoring of these schools and blocked all arab funding coming in. It worked.

Can't even enter airport parking without valid ticket and passport here. You get sniffed for any explosives etc.

We're doing same in our country, extremists get shot. Sympathisers get picked up, hate speech lands you in jail or fine. Madressahs get monitored, need to go harder on madressahs more IMO.



They need to be dealt with heavy hand. Talks and reasoning was tried for years, didn't work.

People are so concerned about the security of airports. The only reason they choose these locations is because there are an abundant amount of victims to kill. You tighten security at one location and stop it from happening there, ok fair enough. What then? They're going to start walking into schools and blowing themselves up. If they can get into an airport with all the dogs, security and what not... Just wait for it, I think the policy of do nothing is going to end as soon as a school full of peoples children get blown up in Europe somewhere. Suddenly deploying a few thousands troops over to start killing these people off won't be sounding so bad, but it seems people need to be shown that is the only way till they're ready to do it. It's just like life in general, people learn from their bad actions. You choose not to act and hope that nothing happens, then it does happen, now suddenly it's time to do something.

He'd do nothing, there is a coalition waiting for him to take charge. 

 

I've said this before, screw the regime change, wipe out ISIS. Wipe them out. there wont be refugees if there isnt a war in Syria. The Rebels and Government already have a ~functional cease fire in place. 

 

I just dont fucking understand when each and every neighbour and each and every nation state is so vehemently against ISIS, how the fuck are they still governing. Make the governments own up to their words, no duplicity bs. Action and only Action. 

 

You know what Lys, for 10-12 years, our govt was scared, it cut deals to keep them at bay, thought peace would be good and to leave them alone would be good, you know what, it didnt fucking work out. In the end, they attacked a school, they killed 140 kids in cold blood, children. And only then did they realise there is no other way to this, it's them or us man. Army got it's shit together, and we've been wiping them out for past year and half. No holds barred. You even give a sniff of a terrorist, bam, you're dead or you're in a cell. That's how it works. 

 

We also were civil, we didnt hang them, because it isnt civil and because we open the death penalty, EU will start fucking giving trade penalties, how fucked is up that? But you know, we said, screw that, all the top fuckers were hanged. 

 

They'd scare our judges and lawyers and even gain sympathy from some lawyers yea, so fuck that too, let's set up military courts, so tl;dr you better not be found near any shit or you're in deep trouble.

 

That's how it works. That's the learning cycle we went through, we tried to reason at first, for 10-12 years, but attacks never stopped, but when they killed the children, that was it. Something snapped inside. 

 

I hope this is that moment for Europe. 

 

In wake of terror attacks, often we're left with ideological debate...that if you act, you're labelled imperialist by x and if you dont, you're labbelled as a liberal or guilt-ridden. These are two extremes, there are those who will say all westerners are bad or all muslims are bad, but obviously there's a fucking middle way, but right now it's led by a bunch of incompetent fools who have allowed extremists and right wing nut jobs to drive the narrative. World's all fucked up. I am forever, an optimist and have my hopes.

ISIS isn't a regular/ uniformed army. In case of a full out war, many ISIS people will be killed, but the collateral damage (civilians) will be too high. After Afghanistan and Iraq, everyone has learnt their lessons. Foreign intervention won't help.

 

Plus it also as simple as ISIS against everyone. There's a shia/sunni issue that'll need to worked out with Iran, Saudi, Iraq, Syria, etc. Syrian govt. is also not supported by US. US wanted to overthrow the Syrian govt. in the past. I haven't kept up with the news these past months, so I don't know whether this has changed or not.

 

Sorry for Brussels. I hope the terrorists are caught, tried in court, and hanged when found guilty.

There are Muslim-majority nations willing to commit ground troops, but dont have the necessary operational know-how or money to keep the show going for long. European/Western Air support with proper nation state armies on the ground, from allied Muslim states, i think will do the trick to make life for ISIS much harder.

 

Problem is Mr. Obama probably wants to leave this decision to the next President and Europe would rather have the refugees and regime change, I guess, to spite Russians, who knows.

depends what you call sophistication, most of the attacks in Europe were lone wolfs and silent sympathizers, fairly difficult to route out anywhere.

They already do searches after 6pm, you just need 1 extra line on the search warrent, one stating that for reason X it is required to do so after 6pm.

 

Its more about some lawyers being dicks and our system had a "1 wrong move and all is gone" mentality (which is gone now btw).

Even if it sometimes sounds that way, don't think that I universally blame all Muslims for attacks like these. Yes, I admit that as an Atheist, Islam in general advocates a worldview which is the direct opposite of mine.

 

But Islam is not Islamism, but unfortunately Western leaders cannot tell the difference, and in doing so they let Trojan horses operate unchecked. For It is the established position of both Salafist and reform Salafist (e.g. Muslim Brotherhood) ideologues that they wish to transform Western societies (and all other societies for that matter) into Islamic ones ruled by Sharia. Whether the path to this leads through violence or insidious manipulation is irrelevant, it's the end-goal that matters. So I ask, why the hell are Western governments so stupid as to allow and sometimes even subsidize the workings of movements that see them and their citizens as enemies that need to be conquered one way or the other? I think the answer to that is regressive PC and bullshit religious tolerance.
