Sad news. Unfortunate for everyone. Prayers and thoughts for the families.

While we are remembering the victims, let us take the time to remember that it was our own mistakes that led to this crisis. ISIS was funded as a proxy against Assad and at that time even I believed that removing a dictator by any means is necessary but now theses snakes that we've been breeding are turning against us. Its time to put them down plain and simple.

America needs to provide intel and proper guidance and send in specialist teams to help mid east get its shit together (after all, its their responsibility). Help the Arabs organize into a proper anti-terrorism force. And at the same time, Muslims need to denounce outfits like ISIS and such and bring a change in their ideology regarding West and America. And change the ideology regarding freedom fighters/terrorists.

That's the only way I see terrorism ending. Through both military and ideological/educational efforts.

People are so concerned about the security of airports. The only reason they choose these locations is because there are an abundant amount of victims to kill. You tighten security at one location and stop it from happening there, ok fair enough. What then? They're going to start walking into schools and blowing themselves up. If they can get into an airport with all the dogs, security and what not... Just wait for it, I think the policy of do nothing is going to end as soon as a school full of peoples children get blown up in Europe somewhere. Suddenly deploying a few thousands troops over to start killing these people off won't be sounding so bad, but it seems people need to be shown that is the only way till they're ready to do it. It's just like life in general, people learn from their bad actions. You choose not to act and hope that nothing happens, then it does happen, now suddenly it's time to do something.

Airports are important..specially international airports. They are the lifelines to a country's economy. You blow out one it hugely affects the country's economy.

I think the focus on ISIS as the cause of this is not 100% the right thing. Yes they need to be taken out, but there needs to be something else as well.

Firstly, I don't think blaming a religion is sensible or even rationale. This is not the first wave of religiously inspired terrorist attacks in Europe, and it won't be the last. Anyone remember the IRA? Are we going to argue that Catholicism is a religion that promotes terror? The attacks in Norway in 2011 (possibly the inspiration for later lone wolf attacks) by Breivik were carried out by a self-declared Heathen-does this mean that Heathenry is a terrorist religion?

Secondly, although there is an ISIS brand on it, this is home grown terrorism. Belgium has some shitty neighborhoods that are full of disenfranchised people, as does Paris. All the attacks are carried out by people who have been in Europe a long time. These are not recent immigrants from Syria coming to Europe to commit terror. These are citizens of European countries turning their guns on their fellow citizens. To me, that is less about what happens in Iraq and Afghanistan (although obviously impacted on by it), but is in part what have we got so wrong in building our society that there are sufficient numbers of young people who detest it that they want to go out and try and destroy it.

This is not justifying terrorism. This is not saying that what they are doing is correct. However, if you go in guns blazing, building walls of fear and throwing everything you can with torture and execution, you won't win. You will kill a few terrorists, but you won't solve the deeper problems. It is like treating cancer by cutting out one or two cells each week but not bothering with the chemo or radiotherapy needed to make a real difference.

For me, the biggest issue is the all to present mantra off "more with less", it's rather sickening that you need people to be shredded by nails to actually get SOME police vacancies properly financed so they can be filled.

Thats my issue, we don't need new stuff or radical thinking, we need to actually do what we planned to do decades ago. I am going to call anyone out for being an idiot if they want a 10m tree gone thats growing inside their own house. Yes present laws and regulations should be kept up-to-date with the everchanging world, but atleast try doing that AFTER you got the former rules implemented and working.

They are now going to allow soldiers to inspect bags in the street, but the catch is they need to have a police officer with them. Fun note, probably less police available to do that then there are currently soldiers doing (stationary) guardduties (about 740 now I think). You might understand my point with that.
