Okay, so you and your family are in a zombie Apocalypse. Starting today the overall chats decisions will decide the life of your family. So, sitting in your hastily made bunker under your old house, you hear a knock on the door followed by the voice of a little girl. You recources are. Becoming strained but the little girl sounds desperate. Open the door?

Frankly. My immediate family wouldn't stand a chance a zombie apocalypse. Second off, my House is not the greatest place to hold up in. So given the circumstance, I would have to get resources anyways, protecting a little girl would only give me motivation to stay Alive. So I would open the door so long as as its just a little girl, or even with her mother. However, if I determined there were men with her (more then one, I would not open the door. I could fight off one man, not more then 2 as they would likely kill me and take what little I hade, unless I knew the men).

Well for starters, a bunker is the one of the last places I would decide to be in a zombie apocalypse. But to answer the question:

I would say nope. Too risky. You can't save everyone and that's a sad fact. (If I had visual confirmation, it might be different) To which I'm sure my father and brother would agree but my sister would no doubt protest. An argument would break out that would likely result in my sister being restrained. Although that's just a brief guess. I'm honestly not sure how my mother would react. Being a doctor she'd clearly want to help. But when her kids are at risk? I have no idea.

I wouldn't rescue the girl. Call me evil but if it were a zombie apocalypse, the rules of war would apply. Innocent people die, nothing you can do. My first concern is my son and myself, this little girl is nothing but extra weight in my opinion.

You and your family though fully aware of the sounds of the little girl choose to iore the sounds of the little girl. Soon the sounds stop. Hours later while your family is rationing the food, in the main room there is a terrible noise that can be heard. It is 9:00 pm and is too dark to tell what the noise came from. There are four of you. Yourself, mother, father, and close friend. Who do you send?

I'd rather get killed early than to survive and then find out it was all for nothing, i volunteer myself =3

If either of these are an option:

None, if that isn't possble, all four. Either let the thing or noise alone and just be quiet, or go as a group (strength in numbers).

If I can't do those, I'd say close friend. Family has more reason to keep each other alive later on, in the event the noise is a zombie. Could just be a pet that snuck in.

Depends, if it happens in about 10 years when I have a bunch of grow lights, less than legal plants alongside legal ones, I'd take her in, more hands to help grow food. And eventually, once most of the zombies have died out, I would begin building walls around the town, start a gladiator arena, and become mayor, wear an eyepatch, and be super cool.

And on the topics of zombies, zombie apocolypses could never really exist, even if there was a virus to reanimate corpses, zombies would die off within a month, let me explain.

Zombies are masses of rotting flesh, zombies need to move to kill humans, each time a zombie takes a step, their joints rub against the skin. If it were alive and not a rotting corpse this wouldn't be a problem, but with rotting flesh its joints would be destroyed within weeks, with the cartilidge degraded they would become crawlers, all the while having bugs and micro-organisms eating out their brains. At most, for all the zombies in the world to die off it would take about three months, and as long as people figured out how to hole the fuck up and not be idiots, it would end.

We are all missing the key point... is she hot?

Fast zombies, slow zombies and what about those mutated zombies?

Not the point lol, but i,'m glad people are getting into this

We are all missing the key point... is she hot?

If her age is on the clock...

Girls dead now, probably......

Necrophilia would be pretty common in a zombie apocalypse, that's all  I'm saying.

So the question is,how long is she dead?

Hooray for derailment!

Just long enough to still be warm.

Please return back to the actual question, not tryingbto make this a Zombie facts topic... Need more answers to make tommorow scenario.

It factors into the decision making process. If it is just slow zombies I am not going to be hiding in some bunker waiting to die. If it is the sprinting ones I would be less likely to leave the bunker, and if there are mutated ones there is no way I am leaving until I have to. This is necessary world building information that any survivors would know about unless they awake from a coma that they conveniently had during it.

With that said, I would have gotten the girl the first time regardless the type of zombies. I am armed well enough to open a door, save the door and close it without them getting in.

(Sigh) OKAYU, so the zombies you are facing are more than docile during the day only likely to attack if provoked but during the night these zombies become aggressive and become faster and stronger than during the day. The scenario ATM is at night sooooo yeah...

So dying light basically. Yeah if she is at the door then it should be easy to grab her, just by cracking the door slowly and looking out. If its clear I would save her, if not I would wait until morning and try and find her.

Look at the second post I made, the majority decision to not save the girl has led to the family not saving her. Cast your vote for what you want to happen next. Thanks! I'd rather have my own scenario then a group.

All of us together. The best two shooters/melee fighters up front, while the others illuminate the room

I read the Zombie Survival Handbook (at my nephew's insistence) and I am somewhat confident that I would last at least 4 days in a true zombie appocolypse. The thing that would probably destroy me wouldn't be zombies, unless I got injured, but my problem is other people. I could not refuse to help another person, easpecially a child, if I were alone and she needed my help. This would make me easy prey to murderous lowlife, but I don't have it in me to do it.

Now if the situation was slightly different, i.e. I'm responsible for the well-being of others, I do not know whether or not I could turn away the little girl in question. My fear isn't only about deminishing resources, but there could be a Negan (sadistic sociopath) using the kid to get to me and my group. I like to think I'm strong enough to put the good of my people above my sense of guilt, but I don't know if I could.

Oh definitely send the friend. I'm a darned good friend, but family over friendship.

Being that you've only known this friend for two years and your family for your whole life, you choose to send the friend. Quickly shoving him into the room there is an immediate sign of conflict in the room. He shouts for help and your family runs in. While your mother and father run around trying to find your friend you search the wall for a light. You find the light and turn it on only to see a feral zombie is standing in the middle of the room, your friends blood covering his face and his body behind it. Further down the wall is a shelf of both food and a double barrel shotgun. You've never handled a gun before but are afraid to waste any food resources on distracting the zombie. Pick up the shotgun or the food?
