I have no problem with us not sitting on our hands anymore and actively taking on ISIS, but that's not what the right wing is suggesting. They are suggesting we nuke the middle east (Iran and anywhere ISIS can be found) until we turn the desert into glass. They want to go to war with Islam, rather than just the extremists.

The only people that mention nuclear weapons are Democrats as they are trying to instill fear into people like you. Under Donald Trump, the mission would be clear, and the means would be under military leaders. The one glaring difference would be nation building... there will be no more of that, and the service we provide will be paid for.

And if you think Donald Trump is capable of pulling our economy out of the sewer then you arent paying attention. How many times has he declared bankruptcy? How many failed business ventures?

You must not be paying attention. Donald Trump has never filed a personal (Chapter 7) bankruptcy. Donald Trump owns over 500 individual business, all under the Trump flag. He has filed Corporate, (Chapter 11), bankruptcy, 4 times during his lifetime, on 4 of those. This is what all Americans do when a business does not earn a profit. 4 out of over 500 is an incredible success rate. I live in Las Vegas, and I saw first hand what the 2008 recession did to all casino owners, and Atlantic City New Jersey, was devastated. The bankruptcy laws are in place to protect all Americans... last time I checked... Donald Trump is an American.

Running a nation is far different than running a business and Trump has already proven himself a hypocrite who has no solid policies but only says what gets him attention regardless of what that may be.

You are correct. Running a business has to be run properly, or it fails. It's high time our nation be run like a business.

Destroying nations and expecting them to pay for the war was already attempted in modern history. It got tens of millions killed in response. And nuclear weapons are horrid things that should never be used again. Under Trump, our foreign policy would not change and no foreign nation will ever pay him to enact his xenophobic policies. If he thinks Afghanistan, Iraq or Mexico would actually pay him, he's insane. Half our middle east allies are only our allies because we throw endless money at them. Reverse that and we'll have a number of very powerful enemies to add to our list of active enemies.

Japan, South Korea, and anyone else that sucks off the free protection the USA has afforded them for decades, will have to kick in for a change. They are more than capable. Trump has made a very big deal about Mexico paying for the wall. There are many ways to accomplish this, and it doesn't have to be in the form of a cashiers check. I would like to see Trump get elected, and then he has 4 years to make that happen. If he fails, then you can say he was full of shit. Right now, all you have is your doubts.

We didn't force Germany, Japan, Italy or Korea to pay for the war. In fact we basically rebuilt them for free and now they are all very close allies. I'm quite sure that if not for shoveling shit tons of cash into various nations, we would have zero support from local in our current wars. If all we do is destroy, there is no reason for anyone to locally support us. All our allies in the Afghan war exist because our initial invasion was made with suitcases full of cash. 

I don't even want a wall. Whether he succeeds at that or not IDC. I don't want it even attempted. 

In any case, Trump cannot do anything as president alone. He needs the support of the rest of the government and more importantly the people. If he's elected, he weill be like Obama where his policies are so opposed by the other side that anything he passes will be compromised to the point that it makes no difference. Example: Obamacare. 

He's just far too polarizing to ever have a productive presidency.

Well, most of those middle eastern countries only have money because of oil. Take away the oil, and they don't really have much power.

I do. My reasoning for this, though, is it's way too easy for people we know nothing about to cross the border.

We have Mexican cartels that are extremely violent that are operating just across the border, and can pretty easily cross it into the US. I remember listening to a podcast that had Mike Detty (co-author of Operation Wide Receiver), where he talked about cartel members showing up at his place at unexpected and odd hours of the day. He found out later that one of the guys showing up was essentially the cartels hit man. How were these guys crossing the border, because, personally, I doubt it was through a US check point.

I remember reading a story a while back that there was a small group of Syrians caught crossing the border (less than 10). The problem is that, US Border Patrol admits that for every one person they catch, 10 more get through (will have to hunt for that background link again). So, my question is, why would these people need to enter the country illegally when our current President is promising to bring how many thousands of Syrians here, and they could potentially apply for political refugee status and get in? Makes me think that there was a reason that they didn't want the US Government to check them out.

You know I quit playing Chess when I was 13, because it was too easy. I'm sorry, but you have a dim view of our country, and I don't know where it came from. You miss the point. We are not required to allow anyone to enter the USA, and if we choose to allow anyone to enter... we select who we wish to enter. We can choose to not allow any group we see fit... Jimmy Carter deported thousands of Iranians, and would not allow any to enter. So soon we forget. This is our country, and no one is entitled to come here. I equate "putting on seat belts" with doing what we want, and whatever it takes, to protect ourselves.
