June 8, 201610 yr comment_861122 http://www.cnn.com/2016/06/06/us/sexual-assault-brock-turner-stanford/ This story struck a nerve to me. Yes, I signed to have the judge removed. 6 months for rape because you're a good swimmer is fucking pathetic. Why does this strike a nerve? My mother was raped on campus. I was an all-state swimmer, and had some of the fastest times in HS not only in Texas, but in the US. I was offered scholarships which I declined to join the military. Does that give me the right to fuck whoever I please? No. What fucking mentality is it that because he can fucking swim good and "has a future", he doesn't deserve an appropriate punishment? His victim, who through no fault but his, has to live with this. She has to imagine her body being violated, she has to think how easy someone can get what they want, despite your efforts. Was she drunk? Yes. But alcohol didn't fucking choke her, drag her behind a dumpster, rip her clothes off, and forcefully rape her. This fucker did. This pisses me off because you're telling women "oh well, you're on your own. If a man rapes you and is a rich, white athlete, he's above the law." You're giving swimmers a bad name, as bad as it sounds. By saying he's a good swimmer as a reason for a pathetic sentence, people unsubconsciously are going to think about that until this passes over. And why the fuck is the news using a damn yearbook photo to go viral? Post the fuckers mugshot. Rip his ass down as much as you can. And a fucking County jail? Not even prison time. I'm just so set off by this. My mother was raped, multiple times throughout her life. My best buddy in the military was raped. Yes, guy on guy. It happens. My cousins I am very close to were raped. This hits a personal nerve for me. The only solace I find is his photo and name going viral. I hope the fucker gets harassed everywhere he goes, I hope he has trouble finding a job. I hope he's scared to leave his house. Because that's what he did to that girl. He made her scared, feel weak. I'm doing ranting. I'm about to pop a blood vessel I keep thinking about this disgusting shit. Report

June 8, 201610 yr comment_861129 And people wonder why calls for vigilantism exist in modern society. Not that I am advocating acting illegally outside the confines of the law. However, is is important to understand that such lax sentences on a horrible criminal breeds mistrust in the justice system and there are those who may seek out retribution. Whether incarcerated or not, this guy has a massive target on his back. A lot of people have now made it their business to track his every move. Report

June 8, 201610 yr comment_861141 The article won't load for me. Damn HP laptop. If this is the one that has a meme going around facebook, then I didn't know the backstory as to what his charge was. The meme has a younger guy & an older guy on it and it says "I got caught with xx ounces of weed and got life in prison" next to the older guys picture and then theres a younger guy with a smirk and next to his it says "I raped someone and got 6 months and may get out in 3 for good behavior". If that is who this is talking about then someone seriously needs to knock the damn smirk off his face. He needs to be beat to a flippin pulp for that sick shit. Mothers, like myself have to live in fear of those sick fucks kidnapping our children simply because the "justice system" doesn't think its too much of a deal. This whole "oh we'll slap them on the wrist and make them register for life" is very ineffective! Making them register doesn't stop them from doing it again. I can tell you this, if anything like that happens to my kids, he'd be dead. Also, I know of a case where a man, whose victim was 9 years old, was sentenced to 18 years and he served 8, and was released for "good behavior". How in the hell can someone do something like that to a child and then be released for good behavior?!? Report

What kind of society is it where someone- who has been known to judge several others as a professional job- thinks that because of "swimming" BLOODY FUCKING SWIMMING you could let someone get off with the rape of a living being? I can say without a doubt that I am most definitely worried about the justice system that this case is a prime example of. Report

If it were one of my girls, they would never find him. June 8, 201610 yr comment_861155 I don't condone Vigilante justice, because that kind of thinking will create huge problems down the road. Wiser men than us had the foresight to ban it, and I am thankful to them for it. That said, this is disgusting. Law and justice should be blind. Who the person is shouldn't matter. Everyone is equal before the law. I'm not sure how the judiciary works in US, but even if the sentence was legal it shouldn't have been given because it doesn't do justice to the victim. Can they appeal to a higher court? Report

Dude tried to rape her (from what I heard, didn't succeed, thankfully), as the husband was coming home from his job as a taxi driver. She was able to call the husband, he grabbed his tire iron. Met the guy in the hallway with his wife pointing him out saying that's the guy. Proceeded to beat the ever loving $#!t out of the would be raper. Unfortunately, this was New York, and he is being charged with manslaughter. http://www.cbsnews.com/news/man-beats-wifes-alleged-attacker-to-death-police-say/ Reading that news article, makes me wonder if what I heard was slightly embellished (general gist is the same, but more "facts" in what I remember hearing). It'd do absolutely no good. This justice system here actually gives those scum custody of children, after the scum has been told to stay away from children! Vigilante may be the only choice since the government doesn't care at all. It's sad that so many of that scum can get away with it if theres "no evidence"... I mean, the terrified person sitting there describing every detail isn't enough? The fear in their eyes, their voice cracking, and the inevitable life-long therapy that they will undergo and the likelihood of them developing PTSD from the event, but theres "no evidence".... I don't care who the rapist is, he/she deserves to be punished to the full extent. The best that the government does accomplish is putting those scum in PRISONS with the convicted murderers who have a life sentence. When the murderers find out what they've done, they will deal with them the only way they know how! Report

They've charged the dude with manslaughter. Granted, it's not a murder charge, but some POS (let you all fill in the appropriate acronym) attacks his wife, he defends her, and now he has to hire an attorney. Report

Yeah he got manslaughter video here: http://www.worldstarhiphop.com/embed/94933' width='960' height='600'> I wouldn't have charged him.. But law is law, he made himself the judge & executioner in this case, but I 100% do not blame him and would have probably done the same myself. Report
June 8, 201610 yr comment_861216 Totally agree with the second. That was manslaughter as he wasn't defending himself and hurt the other guy with intent to kill You gotta live with your choices I guess Re:Topic So there's no way that this guy's sentence can be changed? Report

If that happens, they can essentially put a retrial on Brock, but his 6 months will be credited to whatever new punishment they give. So say he gets 2 years in prison, the 6 months in county will substitute 6 months in prison. Doubt California will do this though, I've lost faith in their justice system years ago. Report
