ccabal86, I don't have that much time to read all of the article as I'm going to uni, but I got the gist of it.

 

It seems that most of what Nawaz rights is true but there are somethings I'd like to clarify upon, seeing as I live in a community where muslims are the majority. I'll post a full review sometime later, yeah?

What you need to know about Maajid Nawaz, is that much like Ayaan Hirsi Ali, he used to be an extremist muslim, and was actually imprisoned for this in Egypt by the Mubarak regime. AI secured his release and he left Egypt, but the time he served in prison and the conversations he had with AI had him reevaluate his life. Unlike Hirsi Ali, he hasn't turned Atheist and remains a Muslim but his insider experience gives him a good perspective of what is wrong there.

My issue is that, we have a group that has pledged to attach the US, and has the equipment to make Syrian passports. Why shouldn't we be restricting people from areas like that? We know that there are numerous Syrians that have emigrated to Europe. Yes, some are good people, but how many are not?

I think we need to slow down a little bit with the relocation of refugees. Figure out a way to effectively vet the people first. I've read that FBI Director Comey worries about gaps in our intelligence, so why shouldn't we, who have access to a lot less information than he has, also be worried?

 

Yes scrutiny and caution. No to blind mistrust and sulking in a hole hope it will stop.

 

Saying that, US has taken in like what, 3k syrian refugees? That isn't immigration nor fleeing people, thats taking in some pittance folks. Like the pope did some months ago, heck he even "stowed them away" in his jet (which is an Air Italia plane which lands in Italy), hilarious

Well going from top to bottom, left to right, I recognize #2 (Breivik), #5 (Osama). I believe #8 is an american mass shooter, I think... while #7 looks like a cross between Sadam and that cocaine dude: Guzmann.

I'd take a guess and say Lys you're probably an avid reader of the site and hope you put on the rationality hat whenever someone shoves down an opinion :-)

Nope... ever since Andrew Breitbart died it has gone to shit. I never read The Daily Caller either... even though I do like Tucker Carlson. It's never a good thing to crawl into the sewer on either side. If I read the comments, I feel I need to take a shower. The Drudge Report, Fox News, The Hill, and 538 tell me everything I need to know. Just keeping it real.
