Thanks Republicans?

Yea, speaking of helping "buddies"

This is like one of those climate change graphs that only show what they want people to see to advance their agenda... you don't show any Democrats... like they aren't getting money from anyone... I'm laughing again. The ability to buy the browsing history of Congress, or anyone for that matter, has already been debunked. It can't happen, because browsing history is protected as personal information by the long standing law known as The Telecommunications Act https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/47/222

So if you're giving money to someone to buy the browsing history of Congress... you have been suckered.

Oh I can't wait to see the browsing histories of some of our illustrious congresscritters. Lets see what gay porn sites Mitch McConnell looks at. That Pat Toomey looks at. That Richard Burr looks at.

Then we can look at yours Lys.

Meanwhile, the ~$100/year I'll spend on anonymous VPN will be money well spent. Where I surf is nobody's business, and certainly not the business of ANY advertiser. Oh, before you ask, Adblock+ *is* my friend.

You didn't answer my question either.  And of course what I posted is an obvious singling out of solely Republicans, and I never said Democrats didn't take anything from anyone.  But since you want to come out and make bold statements like " It wasn't to "protect you"... it was to kill competition for Barack Obama's buddies," as if Barack Obama or Democrats solely look to benefit their "friends," i present facts of a very good reason many Republicans would be looking to help some of their "friends" in telcom industry.  The difference between you and I is I don't trounce around here acting as if my parties "shit don't stink."  I know very well both are controlled by the donors that support them, so I don't come here throwing out claims of one side helping their "buddies" when I know damn well people I support or party they belong with are doing the exact same.  You can sit there and laugh as much as you want

There's no "right" to use a telephone or cellphone, so does that mean you don't mind if the Government, your neighbor, or anyone else who posses the ability to do so listen to your conversations?  Are you cool with revelation by Snowden leaked that the NSA was wiretaping and listening to people's telephone calls and emails and so on?

Is this the question I didn't answer? You said I didn't answer your question, like I was avoiding it or something. I thought you were asking questions that have an obvious answer to make a point.

Since the Snowden revelation, I have no expectation of privacy whatsoever on anything connected to the web. I'm an America loving man, born in Anaheim California. I support everything about the US Constitution, and I support a Party that most of them are of the same mind. I support the military and all law enforcement. I'm not a criminal, or a terrorist, and I have nothing to hide.

Everything I do online, what I watch on TV, and what I say on the phone, is monitored by someone. I have no doubt about this. There is nothing you can do about it. It doesn't bother me in the slightest that ISP's, and the websites I visit, know that I'm there. It's a privilege to be allowed to use such awesome technology. If my ISP can make a little scratch letting people know what I'm shopping for... they can knock themselves out... because I'm a hard sell. I'm not an impulse buyer, and I only purchase what I need. The one that is free to buy whatever she desires is my wife.

Selling advertising is not a crime. I sell myself... everything we touch is sold by somebody. You're attacking Republicans for not siding with Google... WOW! Being outraged, and trying to make something out of nothing, tells us more about the people whining about it than anything else. Everybody spies on everybody. There is nothing you can do but smile at the cameras.

Lys, do you not respect peoples personal privacy? This is a subject I would expect both a liberal and conservative to agree on.

You seem to brush it off as "no big deal" when that's something I'd expect to hear from an Obama supporter. Aren't you conservatives supposed to be all for less government and more independence from government? Or are you just a neo-con who supports all the big government policies and pretends to be conservative for personal gains?

Also, I'm not spending extra money on my already ridiculous internet bill to not have my browsing sold to random people. And I will not have my browsing sold to random people. So you know where this is going, I hope.

Of course I respect peoples personal privacy. The internet is not personal property... you can "try" to make it personal property, but Snowden proved that it's all in your own mind. You want personal privacy? Stay home, don't turn on a TV, shut off your telephone, don't go on the internet, close the doors, the windows, and make sure you tape over the cameras... or someone will know something. Just my advice.

No one can sell your browsing history. They could not sell it before October 2016, and they still cannot sell it now. It's considered personal property by law. If you visit a website shopping for something... do not be surprised if you see that same website showing you ads from the site you just visited, and for the very same item you looked at. This can come from lots of different companies. Because the Republicans killed that rule... your ISP can still be the one showing it to you. This is the entire ball of wax. There is nothing nefarious going on. Breathe, maybe a shot of Patron, relax... everything is the same as it was last year.

Several extremely wealthy people have stated they will buy the internet data of congress so those kick starters are all silly. With proper resources bulk data can be sifted through to find individual's stuff. Footprints are left and it is extremely difficult to completely mask your traffic.

Seeing as the internet is a global thing, would love to know how any such law will be applied to just USA citizens. EU Parliament will have a field day when such stuff hits EU citizens. I'd love the notion that this legislation eventually funds our entire EU (cause boy does the EU know how to ask for $$ :D).

Whatever conspiracies you believe in right, my point exactly

I do love some of the stuff being posted here, the adblocking = privacy is hilarious :D

tinfoils for all!
